Rating: Summary: Judge The Success Of This Book By The Reaction From The Left Review: Hannity has spoken, and the political left--those who claim to be the champions of "diversity" and "choice"--are clamoring to shut him up. LET FREEDOM RING primarily recycles the same pertinent arguments conservatives have put forth since the Reagan years, but Hannity's style is fresh and vigorous. Watch but one episode of "Hannity & Colmes" on Fox News Channel and you'll be overwhelmed with the amount of passion Hannity brings to the table.Make no mistake: our culture is waging an idealistic war over the confrontation of ideas. The left has succeeded in hijacking our societal mainstream, from media and entertainment to our colleges and universities. Political correctness has achieved status quo, complete with speech codes, environmental hysteria, gender-neutral armed forces, and the taking of an unborn child for the sake of expediency. These are titanic issues our society must face--whether to return to a free society based on rugged individualism or to continue our relentless march into a welfare state with its monolithic Big Brother. Hannity brings a new conservative voice to the debate, a voice that is most welcome.
Rating: Summary: I love it when I read this... Review: If you plan on buying this book, I suggest you are a conservative. Take a look at the reviews..... see how disparse they are? Some give it 5, some give it 1. Very little 2s, 3s, and 4s. Gee, I can pretty easily pick out which ones are liberals and which ones are conservatives with that in mind... Gives me a good laugh thinking about it all. With so much controversy, it must be good, wouldn't you think? The book was well organized and fairly decent. I didn't find a problem with it, but I can sure say that others did. If you are looking for something to rile you up, this is the book for you.
Rating: Summary: Very Useful Review: While Hannity does write from the right side of the spectrum, books like these are essential to offset the twist that the liberal media puts on what it calls "news". You don't have to agree with all he says, or even all of everything he says to get a different view that lets you develop your own balance perspective
Rating: Summary: He's Right, and Liberals are Wrong Review: The liberals have come out to slam this book and say Hannity is mean and so on. Did they even read this book? Or are they just on a mission? They can't handle that his first publication hit the tops of every chart. Hannity isn't mean. He is a sweet, nice guy. He's a family guy conservative, maybe a little too conservative on some issues for some, but mainstream for most of America. He brings in tons of facts and research. This isn't drivel, it's well researched and well thought out. Hannity is right about the threats that face this country, and he's taking a responsible position. He values life, liberty, yes, FREEDOM, the greatest force unleashed on this planet. And freedom doesn't mean letting hate mongers plot and scheme to slit your throat, kill your family and convert your children. Freedom doesn't mean that all is well when some are free and others are forcing women to wear burkas under penalty of being stoned to death. And it doesn't mean blowing yourself up because you can't win an argument. Freedom wins the arguments every time. It's not a simple idea, it's a well thought out thesis that states that more freedom will actually make for the MOST efficient conduct of human affairs. And that's exactly what Hannity is fighting for, hence, the title of the book. Let Freedom Ring. Freedom trounced the commies in the arena of ideas. Liberals still don't get it. But they don't want another whupping, so they hide behind new names like "Progressive". Come on, where is the debate? Come on you liberals, what are you afraid of? STEP IN THE RING!
Rating: Summary: Required reading (not just for conservatives) Review: Anyone wondering how and why Sean Hannity has climbed so rapidly to the top of talk radio needs only read Let Freedom Ring to find out. Hannity presents, in a measured and methodical (yet stirring) way, a fairly comprehensive summary of issues that count in today's America, the political history of those issues, and the damage to freedom's cause resulting from slavish adherence to the "PC" viewpoint on same. Not stopping there, he presents and promotes well-reasoned solutions to each threat to our essential liberties. Move over Rush--behold the new thought leader of patriotism in America!
Rating: Summary: Same ol' Same ol' Review: This book is nothing but the same tired old claptrap we've heard a million times only now we get to feel the pain of this dangerous nonsense imposed on us and our country. His chapter on abortion, titled tongue-in-cheek "I'm Pro-Choice" uses "liberal's" words against them and which just goes to demonstrate there isn't a bucket's worth of warm spit between the Republicrats. I will not argue that a fetus is not a potential person, it will not develop into a cow or a lamp, but the autonomy of my body trumps the rights of a parasite to use my body at all times. If my 15 year old son was dying of kidney disease and I was a perfect match and he had a 99.9% chance of living a full and healthy life with a kidney transplant no one and no court could order the violation of my body and the seizure of my kidney for my son'e benefit. The only way he would get my kidney is with my consent, a gift I may choose to give (if ever neccessary) out of love. The same argument applies to a fetus. It has no right to the use of my body without my express consent and consent to sexual intercourse (not even taking in the possibility of rape) does not extend. It is only through my consent, choosing because of love, that a fetus has the right to occupy my body. Of course this demonstrates the conservatives tendancy to only consider those whose last name is Inc. to be full citizens while the rest of of are chattel to the elite.
Rating: Summary: Direct to the point and the truth! Review: After listening to Mr. Hannity on the radio for over a year, Hannity brings a fresh, enlightening look and analysis of the liberal left and how they are trying to destroy our freedom by trying to convert our way of life to the left and socailistic ways that have failed on the other side of the Iron Curtain. Hannity's view of ethical and moral virtue is a foundation for all young adults to read and learn from. This book should be part of Political Science classes from sea to shining Sea!
Rating: Summary: Conservative Propaganda Review: This book is contributing to making America a Rush Limbaugh Regime. Let Freedom Ring is mindless applauding of the despicable Bush administration and even more attempts to blame everything that is wrong and bad on Demo-publicans like Bill Clinton and Tom Daschle. I find it amazing that no one realizes the similarities between how Bush used the destruction of the WTC to limit freedoms and civil rights and launch unprovoked attacks on other countries and how Hitler used the destruction of the Reichstag building to do the same. It's downright shameful. Unless you are rich or evil, there is no way you can benefit from conservative policy. Also, there should be no way any humanist with half a brain would die or even stand by such policies and ideals. My god, pick up something by Michael Moore or Noam Chomsky. Read "Perpetual War for Perpetual Peace" by Gore Vidal. "Those who give up freedom for security deserve neither." -Ben Franklin "Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel." -Dr. Samuel Johnson
Rating: Summary: Hannity Gets It Review: Sean Hannity is one of those talking heads that actually gets it and it shows in this book. Regarding his support for drilling in ANWR: If there was only 6 to 14 months of oil reserves there, why would oil companies be willing to commit the substantial (i.e. hundreds of millions of dollars) capital and resources necessary to bring that oil out of the ground. If there was not a significant amount of recoverable oil & gas in place, no one would want to drill there.
Rating: Summary: Articulate, Intelligent, and TRUE! Review: An awesome book by one of America's true Patriots. Hannity lays out the case against Liberalism in a succinct and intelligent way. This book should be required reading for every government school student (and teacher!). Whether it be the hypocrisy of the left in the political debate, or their stubborn rejection of the values most of America holds dear, Hannity exposes the danger that this type of thinking is to true liberty. Hannity discusses such topics as the abortion debate (did you know Richard Gephardt, Jessie Jackson, and Al Gore were all "pro-life," until it became politically expedient to flip-flop), school vouchers (did you know 60% of black Americans support vouchers, which have been a HUGE educational success, much to the chagrin of the leftist NEA), and tax reform (did you know the Reagan tax cuts almost DOUBLED federal revenue by spurring the economy). In each of these topics, and more, Hannity exposes the lies of the left, and points us in the direction of liberty, prosperity, and freedom. Probably not what the liberals want to hear--that's why this book is being attacked so vociferously. However, Hannity is a light in darkness, that all of America should heed. Buy this book for any of your liberal friends--I doubt any will have any SOUND arguments against him.
