Rating: Summary: where were the naked pictures? Review: u know, it really pisses me off when i here i go and buy a book, and i THINK im gonna get naked pictures of celebrities, but WHAT do i get? essays??? ESSAYS??? no, seriously, this books was excellently imagined and written. i really enjoyed it, and i think jon stewart should write another book. the book's sly, subtle, ironic humor is fresh and funny.....except, come on! u could have included just a few naked pictures. how bout just just naked pictures of u, jon? no im kidding. "naked pictures..." is great the way it is.
Rating: Summary: A book worth buying Review: I thought this book was very funny and was more than worth the money I paid for it. It has some dull parts, but the good parts are well worth the bad ones.
Rating: Summary: Funny, but not for all tastes. Review: Some very funny essays (I especially liked the way the Devil was described as the one who "caused Flip Wilson's Geraldine to do some sassy things"), but some people might be offended by some of it (Christians definitely won't care for the portrayal of Jesus as just a parlor magician who does things like "guessing that someone in the audience is looking to change jobs").
Rating: Summary: Hilarious! Review: Jon Stewart's comedic style transferred well into this hilarious book. I found the essays on the Hanson Christmas newsletters, the Gerald Ford tapes, as well as a few others to be true gems. Those which didn't have me rolling on the floor laughing at least kept a steady, broad smile on my face.
Rating: Summary: I loved the book!!! Review: I never knew anyone could tell that so well it was so funny and im still laughing after i read it millions of times
Rating: Summary: Hysterically Funny!!! Review: This book is most definetely the funniest book that I have ever read. Stewart is not only right on target with his witty essays, skits, and dialogues, but he is not afraid to get his hands dirty. Nothing is sacred in the book, with a supposed journal from a waiter at The Last Supper, a tip section entitled Martha Stewart's Vagina, and an annual Christmas news letter from the Hanson family. I was rolling on the ground! Stewart is the most clever of the new generation of comics emerging into the public eye.
Rating: Summary: Hillarious Review: In the tradition of sick and perverted humor comes a book by Jon Stewart called "Naked Pictures of Naked People". The book I think is the funnist book I have ever read. He puts his humor and intelligance into it. He should be awarded for outstanding writing or something to that affect.
Rating: Summary: A few gems in an otherwise uninspired collection of nonsense Review: Jon Stewart, a comedian worthy of the high praise he is receiving for his work on The Daily Show on Comedy Central, has put together a book, a book in name only because it is more of a collection of very short stories, that while quite funny at times, falls far short of what I have come to expect from this intelligent, irreverant funnyman. Please don't get me wrong, the book is worth buying and reading just for the sake of the few great chapters (The Cult, The Devil and William Gates, and Revenge Is a Dish Best Served Cold). Give it a read and I think you'll be glad you did, but don't expect this to be the funniest book you've ever read or you will be sorely disappointed.
Rating: Summary: Jon Stewart is the new King of Comedy! Review: Jon Stewart has mastered the art of sarcasm and comedy. The absolutely hilarious "Martha Stewart's Vagina" is this book's crowning achievement: turning an uptight busy-body into a sexual perfectionist!
Rating: Summary: Hilarious Review: Jon Stwart once again proves himself to be one of the funniest comiedians working today (for those of you who have not seen his HBO special UNLEAVENED, you are missing out one one of the the most hysterical stand-up specials ever put on television). This series of essays ranging from the satirical to the downright silly is surely one of the funniest books in the last ten years. While Stewart's sometimes dry wit and plentiful vulgarity may offend some, those readers who are not offended by such material should immediately check this book out. Warning: for those who are easily offended, there is an essay entitled "Martha Stewart's Vagina"-don't say you weren't warned. This book should appeal to those who think that Stewart is always hilarious (such as myself), as well as those who enjoy light reading, because the book is only about 160 pages. As a man who loves Jon Stewart, I urge you to immidiately buy this book.
