Rating: 5 stars
Summary: So, you think you can challenge Reagan?
Review: I'm willing to bet a lot of Reagan's detractors won't pick this book up, because they'll have to face the truth of the Reagan presidency....

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Even skeptics will like this work.
Review: Nearly 400 footnotes support D'Souza's research of Ronald Reagan's life and presidency. This book is packed with facts, quotes, dates, and logic-based opinions. Closed-minded Reagan haters will be dazed and angered by the evidence presented. P. J. O'Rourke said it best: "The best story I have read in years and the truest" Best not to enter in a discussion about Reagan until you have a grasp of the facts presented by D'Souza in "Ronald Reagan: How an Ordinary Man Became and Extraordinary Leader."

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: impressive read
Review: Terrific book - even if you disagree with the author's conclusions about Reagan's presidency. Perhaps most striking is how embarrasingly wrong Reagan's critics throughout the 1980's were - and how they have tried to cover their tracks.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Reagan Complete and thorough Bio of a great President
Review: I was unable to let the book go. It is by far the best biography of Reagan on the market today, even better than "Dutch" which fills in pages with assumptions. Reagan was a complicated man, and made the Country feel good about themselves again with his humore and actions.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A must read for all leaders
Review: This book is outstanding. I loved every word. From the way Ronald Reagan lead without being dependant on poll results--because he would do the right thing, by keeping his goals and ideas for a great America his whole focus. On taxes, the explanation of the Laffer curve should be reviewed by all in politics--Reagan, using this idealogy, has contributed to the economy we have today. Much can be learned from this book on leadership, and how to be successful in American politics by having some backbone and standing up to do what is right.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A first rate defense of RR
Review: This book is an enjoyable and provocative brief for the proposition the RR was a great President. It takes the interesting tack of defending him not only from the left, but also conservatives who thought RR was too soft on Gorbachev, etc. As good as it is, D'Souza's RR is nearly perfect. D'Souza concedes nothing in this no-hold barred thesis (it is NOT a comprehensive biograhpy by any means) and that may weaken his points just a little bit, hence 4 rather than 5 stars...his explanation of why RR is so hated in academia may help explain the bile of the reviewer from Temple Univ below who obviously couldn't stand RR.
