Rating: Summary: you are not alone in your trials Review: I'd like to take a moment to share my thoughts with you. i totally enjoyed the book and the honesty and candor of the author. what courage it take s to lay your self out on the line to be viewed and scrutinized by all the world. i beleive hunter's purpose in writing this was to share her tragedies and her triumphs with a world desperately in need of a savior "Jesus Christ", and in doing so let us all know that we are not alone in this world. that we have an advocate some one to plead our case, someone who knows our frailties, who understands our weaknesses and loves us in spite of all of our mistakes, and is just waiting with open arms of love to hear us silently whisper his name "Jesus", "Jesus" i need you. i need your arms of love to wrap around me and hold me tight. i need your forgiveness and your strength and healing power to come into my frail and lost life and change me, make me some one you can depend on and be proud of, give me hope and peace and life everlasting. give me something to believe in, no matter if the world thinks i have gone off the deep end, i am swimming towards you, just as peter in the bible walked towards you i am swimming to you and although i may be tired and fighting the currents i will not stop until i reach you and know i am safe and okay. well, i feel like i have written a book myself just now, but we all need some encouraging in life and i think this book does just that and many other things i have elaborated on. god bless you hunter {HT}:-} for being the clay that christs can mold into something lovely. keep the faith!
Rating: Summary: Couldn't put it down! Review: I've always admired Hunter Tylo since she played Robin on AMC and now, upon reading this book, admire her even more. How gutsy of her to share such incredibly personal events of her past. She proves that she is big enough to swallow her pride if it might help someone else who might be following the wrong path! I cried after reading what poor Katya had to endure and how Hunter and Michael's faith in God, got them through the toughest of times. I definitely recommend reading it!
Rating: Summary: If you're a fan of hers, GET IT Review: I've seen Hunter Tylo on Days of our Lives and the Bold and the Beautful (describes her perfectly) and I can attest that she can act. I remember when this book came out and there was a lot of press about it because she really left no stone unturned. I finally got around to getting a copy last week. I haven't been able to put the thing down. I have 50 pages left. It's all in here: the domestic violence, the Spelling case, her dabbling in the Hindu religion. Through all these obstacles, Mrs. Tylo has come out the other end stronger and her family on more solid ground. God bless her for having the you know whats to write about it all because it all comes out.
Rating: Summary: A Vapid Tale of an Ageing Soap Star Review: If I were Hunter Tylo, I would be ashamed to admit that I act the way she says she does--drugs, drinking, fist fights with my husband, aldultery on both sides, and that's just for starters. This book paints a portrait of two very vapid, vain, self-centered, selfish and ageing actors who are struggling to come to terms with their last gasp at glory. All I can say after reading this trash is that I really feel sorry for the children of Hunter and Michael Tylo. No one should have to endure what these kids do.
Rating: Summary: Making A Miracle Review: Making a Miracle by Hunter Tylo is a heartwrenching and humbling story about her life as an actress, wife and mother. It is a very personal account of her marriage to actor Michael Tylo, and about her family's heartbreak over her baby daughter's bout with a rare form of childhood cancer. Hunter also discusses the "true story" in startling detail behind her lawsuit against Aaron Spelling who unjustly fired her from Melrose Place just because she was pregnant with her third child. You will laugh and cry and rejoice with Hunter as she recounts her life and speaks of her spiritual relationship with God and shares how His grace brought her through her ordeals. Whether your a fan of Hunter Tylo or not you will find her story inspiring.
Rating: Summary: Facinating Read Review: The book starts with her leaving B&B in 1996, after she found a role with "Melrose Place". A few weeks later she learned she was pregnant, and out of courtesy told the execs at Melrose the news. Soon she found herself without a job, she was fired from Melrose because she was pregnant. She had enough issues getting the role, with her newfound Christianity she was concerned about the role she would be playing, in which they gave very few details and were evasive with their answers to her questions. We don't find out what happens as a result of her termination until later in the book, near the end.She goes back to her childhood, to her first marriage where she was pregnant with her first son, Chris, and the tumultuous relationship she had with his father. Doing many commercials, she eventually found an acting job at "All My Children", where she met her future husband, Michael Tylo. At this point in the book we are introduced to their relationship, and it is a bumpy rollercoaster ride. She kicks him out, they fight over work, she gets him arrested, he tries to take her kids away from her, it was a constant battle. He lost his job at AMC after she did, and then she found work on "Days of Our Lives", being fired shortly after, then finding work at B&B. She accounts her friendship with co-star at B&B, Kimberlin Brown, and the problems that happened there. Lots of history there. Then Hunter landed a role in a mini series shot in India and Canada, her marriage with Michael failing, she fell in love with a man over there who had her succumb to false religion, and she was manipulated. Her marriage at its final thread, more constant fighting, and it seemed everything in her life had gone down the toilet so to speak. Then she found her faith in religion again, and talks about how it saved her marriage. Then the Melrose fiasco. The court case lasted an incredibly long time, and Spelling Enterprizes used every dirty tactic to make her look like a spoiled brat who was after their money. She was ashamed for a moment for considering having an abortion. I found this part of the book facinating, although disturbing that as she put it, they didn't want to admit that her child existed, not before, certainly not then either. She won the case, and during describing the trial, we learn of a shocking secret she had held within her for a long time, which I won't spoil here. She got her job back at B&B and had two other children. Her first daughter, who she was pregnant with during the Melrose fiasco, Bella, and then she was pregnant again during the trial with Kayta. It turns out Kayta had a rare eye cancer disease, and Hunter talks candidly about her chemotherapy and the heartbreak she went through during this time, when she questioned her faith, and was left confused. Overall a facinating read about Hunter's triumphs and tribulations in life, it's a shame she's not at B&B anymore, she really brought morality and class to that show that is now lacking on the show.
Rating: Summary: Guts, But Wisdom? Review: The customer-reviews were interesting, but hard to evaluate. Too many sounded as if written by the author's fellow Born-Agains, which is fine, but some glaring trouble spots in the author's present thinking were overlooked. For example, Hunter Tylo seemed not to realize perhaps (giving her the benefit of the doubt) how mean-spirited it was to actually name the names of her ex-bestfriend-actress as well as the married actor Hunter claims made overtures to her [Not every reader is privy to nor wants to hear backstage soap-star intrigues]. These colleagues' privacy rights were not respected, they could not defend themselves, and think how devastating for their families to learn this in such a public way. Also, even if every single thing she said about them were true, this was years ago -- aren't they allowed the privilege Hunter gave herself of evolving, maturing? Instead, their personalities have become frozen, negative images per her book. Her husband also seemed to be more decent that she seems willing even now to give him credit for in the past. I also wondered about some of her religious friends who turned her away from the Eastern artifacts in her house -- they seemed equally disturbing in their overreaction to other religions. Hunter Tylo seems to be a sincere person and I wish her and her family well. But I do wonder if somewhere down the road, she might realize that she still seems to have some resentment to release, and that mending fences, as she states she dearly would love to do with her ex-friend, is better done by not subjecting the ex-friend to such unauthorized exposure. I did enjoy, even felt inspired by the last chapters. Even though the writing is high-school level, the author did manage to provide poignant moments when she spoke about feeling connected to God, and that was truly beautiful.
Rating: Summary: Not Enough Warmth Review: There are two things about this book that disturbed me immensely. One is the quality of writing - which I could get over - but the other is how self-involved she is throughout the book. The latter I could not get past. I was disappointed and saddened.
Rating: Summary: Mrs. Tylo is definitely a miracle hunter! Review: This beautiful woman has the look of love in her eyes in the cover photo. Michael, you found yourself a great chick! I wish she was mine. She's the kind of girl I always dream about. She's the kind of girl I'd love to date and marry. She's got a semi-good history of relationships with men(her first and current husbands). I remember the line where she says that she went to the senior prom with the man who became her first husband. That made me very green. I wish I had gone to my prom. I'm so f---ing sorry I didn't. The regret has been haunting me for a long time. She's got a 20-year-old son by her first husband who is probably so handsome that he's dating a girl as beautiful as his mom. Millions of guys envy Michael(Hunter's husband) for having a wife as beautiful as she. I'm so glad that Katya Ariel Tylo is doing OK. For those who can't afford to buy the book, check out the E! show Celebrity Profile. They chronicled Mrs. Tylo(premiered in September). You can get her life history in one hour. When I hear a slow-dancing love ballad, the girl that is on my mind is Hunter Tylo. None of the girls I was ever romantically involved with is as beautiful as she. Beauty matters just as much outside as inside. For three years,I've watched the BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL. When HT sued Aaron Spelling in December 1997,that's when I've heard of her. I saw a photo of her when the story appeared. That's when I developed a crush on HT. I still have a crush on HT. She's the most beautiful girl I've ever seen. That's why I wish she was mine. A man that I work with is a B&B fan as well. She's probably a beauty contest winner. HT would an excellent role model for men especially those who are romantically suffering.
Rating: Summary: Shallow as the kiddie pool! Review: This book simply confirmed my suspicions about Hunter Tylo - she is nothing but a publicity hound! Sure, she tells about all of the horrible things she has done, but then takes the "holier than thou" route by deciding it is HER place to forgive, rather than apologize for her abhorrent actions. I have news for you Ms. Tylo: suddenly finding religion does NOT erase all you have done, nor does it mean you are better than anyone who makes or has made the same mistakes as you. Rather than "forgiving" others for their actions, why don't you apologize for your own selfish actions? Her lawsuit against Spelling was frivolous, and she had no business winning it. In previous pregnancies she gained quite a bit of weight. During the trial, she was pregnant yet again, but gained very little weight. It is obvious to anyone with half a brain that Tylo INTENTIONALLY starved herself so as not to gain weight with that pregnancy for the sole purpose of "proving" that she is sexy while pregnant. I have absolutely no respect for someone that would endanger a baby's life to win a settlement. I hope the decision is reversed. I feel for her children, especially Katya, but I have no sympathy whatsoever for Tylo. She is a self-centered, talentless, publicity hound who cares about no one but herself. She is obsessed with her looks and apparently feels that finding religion makes her better than everyone else. Though the book is amusing at times, you probably won't enjoy it unless you are a die-hard Hunter Tylo fan.
