Summary: to a reader from mars
Review: first off, how's the weather there? A bit cold maybe? Anyway i did in fact read this book, and am not just lumping it in with other "conspiracy theories". What's wrong with a good conspiracy theory anyway? Normally I'm all for these types of things. JFK murdered by....well everyone (according to oliver stone at least), i always identified much more with mulder than with scully....i'm being serious here...We all love a good conspiracy theory. Why? because the actual reality of a situation isn't nearly as exciting...and oftentimes simply depressing.
Why is it that the dateline interview was a "hatched" job, but this book is gospel? Would you have felt any different t if the experts appeared on-screen? why? What to they have to gain from it? What does NBC have to gain by making this up? The writers of this book have much more to gain ($?). All they did was ask the right people the right questions in order to get the "right" answers. Why not document the investigation, show differing opinions...these guys are supposed to be investigative journalists, so where's the investigation...? Once again people, please look at this case beyond this book, there's always multiple sides to a story. The fact is that without a conspiracy, there'd be no books to sell. Think about it.

Summary: A Must Read - Excellent!
Review: Halperin and Wallace's tale of Cobain, his widow Love and Cobain's roots is one of the best stories I have ever read. The writers develop fantastic characters around the murder conspiracy surrounding the legendary rock star. I love the way they generate emotions with different scenes, different generations telling their stories about how Cobain might have been murdered. I read another book by Halperin about models. He is one courageous journalist who always seeks justice. This is one great book and it only took me two days to read.

COURTNEY KILLED KURT

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A disturing read
Review: I could not put this book down. Kudos to the authors for bringing this evidence to light. Kurt's "suicide" note is clearly a letter written to fans explaining his decision to quit Nirvana. His conspirators have obviously forged the "I LOVE YOU's" to Courtney at the notes end. The Seattle police department should be ashamed. First, for letting their cities become the Heroin dens that they are; second, for not doing their due diligience in researching Kurt's death. The evidence presented here might be circumstantial, but it is compelling and damning. This case should be re-opened and investigated by those not befriended by Courtney Love. If Courtney does not get what's coming to hear in our lifetime, I take comfort in knowing that God will have the proper punishment awaiting her arrival. Hopefully, Kurt will be the one to push the down arrow on the elevator to her unforsaken place. May Kurt rest in PEACE!

Summary: Best Cobain Book ever - Book Courtney
Review: I could not put this one down. It made me realize how much evidence points to the reality that Kurt was murdered. Bravo Simon and Schuster for publishing it. I read Halperin's last book on models. It was a gem. This is a great follow-up. Every Cobain fan out there should buy it for their collection. It rocks!

Summary: Even if you're not a big Nirvana fan.
Review: I couldn't put this book down from page 1. The pages are filled with evidence to prove that Kurt Cobain was in fact murdered. Even if you've ever entertained the thought that Cobain was indeed murdered, this is a must-read.

Summary: Interesting....however....
Review: I find the book to be interesting. One important note of interest is the different letters of the alphabet found in Courtney Love's purse. It really is a huge sign of guilt. I personally would like to see the autopsy photos, medical reports, etc but absolutely would HATE if these became public for the effects on Frances. I call on Courtney to release the relevant information to Tom Grant, even if she hates him and he is a bonehead, because it could silence him and others. I would only do it on the pretense that it is CONFIDENTIAL and he legally bound not to release the photos or reports, but only write on his findings. I have some suspicions of Courtney, as she is a loose cannon doing some very bizarre things, the writing in her purse, various questions, and her reluctance to cooperate. However I also have doubts as she appears to be a very loving mother and Frances absolutely adores her and really who could blame some of her insanity on the loss of a spouse.

Kurt Cobain really was an incredible songwriter, artist, and in my mind the greatest to have lived. I only wonder what his music (yes his and not Dave and Krist) would have became. This investigation must be resolved with Courtney's assistance. If he was murdered this will help to solve the case and release his soul from the eternal torment. If it was a true suicide then this would silence the conspiracy theorists, the huge amount of negative feelings on Courtney being behind it, and end the raping of his legacy for every last dollar.

I would recommend Come As You Are and Heavier Than Heaven.

This review has been edited since actually reading Heavier Than Heaven. There are some minor inconsistincies and some "filling in the blanks" in the book but other than that it is very good and very powerful. Kurt Cobain, one of the greatest rockers of all time, is described by friends and family as quite the opposite of what he claims. He seemed to exagerate and fabricate alot of things to seem more punk or just for the hell of it. Just as what he called his female self, Courtney, she is the exact same way, lying about things and exagerating just for the hell of it. The final chapter of heavier than heaven does seem silly, only because its fiction, but does seem like a very possible scenario. If he was murdered, we don't know and won't know for sure until a case is reopened. Either result would not shock me.

Summary: Cobain Book deserves Pulitzer
Review: I have followed this case from day one. The only people to get it right are Wallace, Halperin and Tom Grant. This book is a real eye opener. I can't believe that the Seattle cops have not shown up on Courtney's doorstep with an arrest warrant. The evidence presented here is explosive. Kudos to the team of Wallace, Halperin, Grant and, of course, Simon & Schuster for being brave enough to publish the book.

Summary: Love & Death: The Murder of Kurt Cobain
Review: I just finished this book, having owned it for only two days. I had owned "Who Killed Kurt Cobain?" by the same authors for many years prior to purchasing this book. Normally I would never contribute to people, such as Halperin & Wallace, that are using the death of another to make money, but the book was a gift that I could not return.

I thought one passage from "Love & Death" summed the whole book up completely: "...the very first article we wrote about the case--in 'Canadian Disk' magazine--we cynically speculated that [Tom] Grant was in it for the money and would attempt to cash in on his charges by writing a book or by selling his story." - page 102. After reading that, I immediately thought, "oh, you mean like you guys have done twice now?" I have respect for Tom Grant simply because he has never profited from the murder theories, whereas Halperin & Wallace have twice.

I read the book hoping that it was not packed full of lies and factual errors as Charles R. Cross' "Heavier Than Heaven" was, and it proved to be a fairly interesting read. It seemed a bit scattered, for there were a number of times when I thought to myself, "why didn't you just say that a page and a half ago?" The book is not in chronological order, which caused me to have to go back to reference some of the earlier parts to understand some things (it's impossible to retain everything after one reading). The authors seemed to lack confidence in what they were writing. Sometimes I wasn't convinced that the authors themselves believed that Kurt Cobain was murdered. Everything in this book must be taken lightly, as I doubt all of it is absolutely true.

Despite being packed full of false information, "Heavier Than Heaven" was a very interesting read to me. It read like a novel and kept me hooked. "Love & Death" was written sort of like a diary of the authors' research and encounters, a style which I do not personally favor. Perhaps the book would be a better read if it were in chronological order regarding the events as opposed to the authors' encounters. Overall, the book is worth reading as long as not everything in it is taken as truth.

Summary: Kurt Cobain did not commit suicide, and this book proves it.
Review: I know that at first it sounds like a typically wacky conspiracy theory; I refused to even listen to those who suggested that K.C. was murdered until very recently, when I read "Who Killed Kurt Cobain?" and then this book. Perhaps what is most important about this book is that it establishes that everything everyone thinks they know about K.C.'s supposed suicidal tendencies comes straight from Courtney Love. She's the one who says he tried to kill himself in Rome; she's the one who called the police and said that he was threatening to shoot himself, which Cobain denied. Once you realize that Courtney is constitutionally incapable of telling the truth, this case begins to look very, very different.

The evidence in favor of Cobain's death being a homicide and not a suicide is overwhelming. It starts with two primary facts about his death: (a) the "suicide note" doesn't much resemble a suicide note at all; mostly it talks about his leaving the music business, and only the last four lines -- which seem to be written in different handwriting than the rest of the note -- indicate an intention to kill himself; (b) there was WAY too much heroin in his system at the time of death for him to have rolled down his sleeve, put away the drug paraphernalia, pick up the shotgun and shoot himself. These are only the two most immediately striking reasons for a homicide verdict; there are many, many more details that show that K.C. did not kill himself.

Tom Grant's website, www.cobaincase.com, is a good intro to this case, but if you want the argument for homicide laid out in detail, buy "Love and Death". It will completely change the way you see Cobain, Love, and the music of Nirvana as well. I know it is hard to believe at first, but K.C. DID NOT KILL HIMSELF. The book makes this fact clear as day.
