Summary: DON'T BLAME ME!
Review: It was a little disconcerting at first to realize my girlfriend can have orgasms every time she has intercourse (potentially, even with somebody else) and that she doesn't depend on me anymore to be a perfect or great lover. But this book also relieved me of the responsibility of her orgasm, and freed me to enjoy myself. Now I don't have to feel guilty anymore if she doesn't enjoy herself. It's not my fault. This book definitely helped our relationship.

Summary: This book is for beginners.
Review: I found this book very to have very basic information that I would have thought most people already knew. If you already know the basics, I would say move on to a more advanced book.

Summary: In Search of the Almighty Orgasm
Review: In spite of the sexual revolution of the 60s, women are not as free as we might wish. Witness the continued search for the almighty orgasm, a problem that almost never plagues men (healthy men, at least). As historian Rachel P. Maines describes in Technology of Orgasm : Hysteria, the Vibrator, and Women's Sexual Satisfaction, the vibrator was originally developed to automate a function that doctors performed for women: relief of sexual tension through external pelvic massage, resulting in orgasm. Single women and widows were considered "sick" or "hysterical" if they had no sexual outlet, and consequently had to rely on doctors or midwives for relief. As Five Minutes to Orgasm explains, how odd that today women still depend on their male partner to achieve orgasm. To reach sexual satisfaction, women had to depend on doctors. Today many must depend on expert sex partners, vibrators, or performance of oral sex. This books seeks to liberate women once and for all. I recommend it to any woman who is sexually frustrated during intercourse.

Summary: Quick and easy
Review: According to this book, satisfaction with sex is a real problem with many women, and the men in their lives also suffer. A recent sexual study would seem to bear this out. Many woman are simply not interested in sex. Sexual blahs seem to be an inevitable part of the experience of many couples. Why? Women MUST have an orgasm, according to our culture, and men MUST give it to them. Too much pressure on both. The answer? Most people don't need extensive sex therapy. They don't need long-drawn out lovemaking sessions. Most people don't have the time for that anymore. This book helps couples fight this problem of no time with a quick simple formula that will work for most women every time, especially if they have experienced orgasm. If they haven't, the book gives guidance for that too. This book sort of suggests taking the romance out of sex, instead of trying to add more romance, like a lot of experts suggest. By removing the mystery from sex and especially making it easier for women to achieve orgasm, couples can concentrate on all-night lovemaking sessions at their discretion, and not everytime. After reading this book, now I can enjoy an occasional "quickie" too.

Summary: What a gem! What a relief!
Review: I was so happy to discover that I don't have to suffer the pain of endless thrusting in order to reach an orgasm during intercourse. Also, that most women are being stimulated clitorally whether they realize it or not. Now I can get on with my sex life, enjoy sex and not have to fake orgasm just to get it over with.

Summary: Women are NOT "slow cookers"
Review: My wife and I were fairly skeptical about this book when we ordered it. I've always read that men are like "microwaves" and women are "slow cookers," like the author says, but this author puts that myth to rest. This book really lives up to its name. As a man, I'm glad to be relieved of responsibility for my wife's orgasm by following the instructions in this book.

Summary: Recommended to my students.
Review: I am a teacher at the University of Texas, and I have unhesitatingly recommended this book to my women (and a few men) students. Five Minutes to Orgasm tackles a problem that few experts want to talk about, but is, nevertheless, a problem in real-life relationships. The book anticipated the just-published study in the JAMA (Journal of American Medical Association) that 43% of women and 31% of men, representative of all ages, experience sexual problems. Sexual dysfunction in this study was measured according to 7 responses, among them (1) a lack of desire for sex; (2) inability achieving climax; (3) anxiety about sexual performance; (3) physical pain during intercourse; and (4) not finding sex pleasurable, all of which are addressed in this book. Author Hutchins propounds her theories in these areas and backs them up with anecdotal evidence. She doesn't pretend to be an expert; she is simply giving the reader an option that they can use or discard. The message empowers women to take charge of their orgasm response. Many of my students adopted Hutchins' formula. Me too.

Summary: Doesn't pretend to solve the problems of the world!
Review: This manual is about a very specific problem and doesn't try to fix everybody's sex live. The author's method is simple and easy -- that's the point. It appealed to me because my reliance on oral sex to reach orgasm has caused some real problems in my relationships. This method worked. Another friend who read it said it was too much work (for her), but she still wants her boyfriend to do all the work. Part of the point of this book is that orgasm is not a gift that a man gives to a woman. It's her right.

Summary: Presents a Refreshingly Different Approach to Sex
Review: There's not a lot new you can say about sex, but happily this book has taken a refreshingly different approach. The author takes techniques that we are already familiar with and puts them into a simple three-step plan that guarantees an orgasm every time. Brisk, to-the-point writing and innovative technique make this a must-have book for any woman who has trouble achieving orgasm during intercourse. I recommend it highly, a bargain at the price!

Summary: Save your money. Buy the Kama Sutra
Review: Premise is 1) Get on top 2) Fantasize 3) Play with yourself. Sorry, but this doesn't work for everyone. To add insult to injury, the book is badly written, repetitive, and full of self-congratulatory falsehoods. Author also doesn't acknowledge that there IS such a thing as premature ejaculation. Not everyone GETS five minutes!
