Summary: It gave me biblical answers as to where my pet went on
Review: I felt this book was an answer to prayer. It gave me the comfort I needed and the answers I needed to go on living with the death of my beloved Amos. I reccommend it for anyone, christian or not. I gave a copy to my Vet, friends and Pastor. Gary Kurz writes from his heart yet backed it with in depth study. No one else has taken the time to study the bible on this subject to give us the answers we need in the time of sorrow. I searched and God provided this book. I still miss my Amos but now I know that I will see him again. You have to love animals to have put the time and effort into writing this book. People should not have to to suffer unnecessarily.I believe Gary Kurz reaches out to you in this book to comfort and provide answers to anyone that is searching for these answers. Thanks Gary for giving me hope that I will see my best friend again.( "In memory of Amos")

Summary: A masterpiece for those who have lost their best friend
Review: Noone can describe the unconditional love that our pets give us. We unfortunately realize too late how much the love and companionship meant to us. Back in 1996 we discovered our 4 1/2 year old boxer had lymphoma. We of course were devastated since Dempsey was such an important part of our life. I started writing on bulletin boards and had the great pleasure of finding Gary Kurz. His wisdom, kindness and comforting words assisted us through the chemo, the long nights and our moment to say goodbye to Dempsey. Upon Dempsey's death I had the opportunity to read "Cold Noses at the Pearly Gates". I only had to read a few pages to know that comfort was not far away. I knew that it was okay not to have an explanation for everything and began to let go and to stop analyzing everything. I hope as you read this most touching book that you allow yourself to feel whatever you feel and know that your best friend will never leave your side. Thank you Gary for sharing your thoughts.

Summary: Excellent Book!
Review: I enjoyed reading "Cold Noses at the Pearly Gates" because it brought comfort and understanding to me, knowing that our "loved ones" (pets) are at peace and with God. Losing a pet is just like losing a family member, sometimes worse. Gary Kurz gives his sincere and honest thoughts regarding our beloved animals after they pass away. The book brought light to many questions I had regarding losing a pet. I truly appreciate Mr. Kurz' knowledge of the Bible and was very impressed with stories and connections to the Bible. The pages of the book were full of stories, many very humorous. I like the book so much I display it on my coffee table. I was so delighted when Gary Kurz wrote a second book "Cold Noses II" that is on the coffee table also. Many friends inquired about my books on the coffee table and planned on ordering the delightful books. I feel that Cold Noses at the Pearly Gates is thought provoking, humorous and a wonderful book to read. There was great comfort and joy reading this book ~ I sincerely hope a third book will be in the works.
A MUST READ!! The book is the perfect gift for someone who lost a pet (recently or ever). I did give this book as a gift, more than once, the receivers were most gracious and thankful for the needed encouragement. Again, a must read! ***** C :-)

Summary: Disappointing
Review: I purchased this book that I might receive some comfort for the loss of my precious pet and some assurance for afterlife for my present cat someday. I received neither of these as the author rambles on and on about nothing most of the time, cites only a few scriptures in which he doesn't have much opinion on, and leaves me with no hope for animal afterlife. I've read a few other books on the subject and the best one I've found is "There Is Eternal Life For Animals" by Niki Behrikis Shanahan. This book details scores of Bible Scriptures that show how much God loves ALL of His creation and proves from these Scriptures that they WILL be in heaven. Most people want proof from the Bible rather than some person's opinion on the subject.

Summary: One of My Favorites
Review: In the early 90's, I lost a very precious pet and several years later, still had not come to terms with that loss. My religion generally teaches that animals do not go to heaven and, when they die, that's the end for them. Knowing the character of God, it just didn't all add up for me. I just knew there had to be something more in His Word. When I first saw Gary's book advertised in a magazine, I knew I'd finally found what I'd been looking for. Gary is a retired Coast Guard officer and Baptist preacher who writes clearly and simply, from over 20,000 hours of Bible study on the subject of animal afterlife. He convinces readers that God intended the perfect environment of the Garden of Eden to last forever and for man and animals alike to live forever. The book also defines and describes life, soul, and spirit, and the point is made that all life comes from God, is forever connected to God, and will never end. Gary writes with compassion and reason, sprinkling animal stories of humor and heroism throughout the book, and soundly backs his conclusions with many Bible scriptures. I found the book to be uplifting, inspirational, and comforting. If you trust God, believe the Bible, and love animals, don't pass up this book.

Summary: This book's written from the heart
Review: When I was very small, my cocker spaniel died of an accidental poisoning. (She drank from a puddle of water which had mosquito spray in it. The city had a mosquito infestation that year and had heavily sprayed everyone's back yard.) I asked my mother if dogs went to Heaven, and her wise answer was: "Well, Heaven is supposed to include everything that would make you happy. I don't see why Penny wouldn't be there too."
Now Gary Kurz has written Cold Noses with that same calm assurance, but also containing Biblical references which reinforce it. His book is a comfort, and helps you just when you need it. He tells you about some of his own painful losses of pets, and truly writes from his heart. (He also emails as many people back as he possibly can, if you order the book on-line.) I'd recommend this book, especially as a gift for someone who's grieving over the loss of his or her pet. A copy should also be in every church's lending library.

Summary: No doubt that Rusty is in heaven
Review: I ordered Gary's book the day my little Rusty passed on and there was no consolation because his passing just seemed so final. Cold Noses erased all doubt from my mind and I was assured that he was now in heaven and waiting for me. Gary gave me so much hope and did that with proof from the Bible and about God's plans for his animals and it all made perfect sense. Anyone who believes in heaven, will find great comfort in this book.

Summary: My heart was empty and so full of sadness and sorrow
Review: I was completely devestated at the untimley death of my beloved Caleb a one year old yorkie. I just could not imagine life without him. I never knew that something so small could weigh so much in your heart and totally captivate your world. The hole that his death left in my heart was so great, I felt as if there was nothing that could be done to fill it. My heart and spirit was broken and so sad that I thought I could not get past it. The day after his death, I went in search of something, anything to help me understand his death, anything to help ease my pain. That's when I came across the book "Cold Noses At the Pearly Gates". I read this book it in only two days. The encouraging words and the warmness of the aurthor helped me deal with this horrible loss. I felt as if Gary was talking to me personally telling me that it was going to be alright. I now understand that we only have those precious little creatures for a season, some seasons being much shorter than others. Why this is, no one knows. The one thing I now know is that with Gary's words, I will absolutely see my precious Caleb again and the bond we shared in his earthly life will continue throughout eternity. My Caleb had to much love and devotion to give only to have lived those few short months. I know now that he will be waiting there to greet me when I pass into his world and until that day, I will love my little forever dog and keep his memory alive in my heart and in my heart he will stay. "Cold Noses At The Pearly Gates" is an exceptional work for anyone grieving and dealing with the loss of a four legged baby, it is an absolute must. My hat is off to the aurthor for giving so much to the animal lover and by his words, our pains are eased.

Summary: Help during a tough time
Review: Losing a pet can be such a difficult time in our lives, sometimes it hurts as much, if not more, than losing a person. Society doesn't seem to address the trauma associated with coping with this sort of loss, and/or the afterlife of our treasured faithful companions.
Finally, a book that will walk us through answering those questions about where our companions go, if we can expect to see them again and the afterlife they will experience. As well as helping us cope with our sorrow and depression and our ability to walk through the pain and move foward.
The author is sensative, gentle and will touch your heart. A must have for any pet lover going through this great loss.

Summary: This book was a blessing to me
Review: All of my life I have grieved over the deaths of not only my own pets, but of all animals. The suffering that so many of these innocent creatures go through makes me sad beyond words. In my heart I always felt that there must be a better place for them at the end of their life on earth. I felt that a loving God would have to provide a plan for these innocents which would give them a perfect and happy existence in eternity. I had found a few places in the Bible which seemed to confirm this feeling. However, I am a student but not a scholar of the Bible. Eventually I decided to research what, if any, doctrine had been put forth by those who had done a thorough study of this subject. I was gratified to find that there are several excellent books available to answer my many questions. I have read most of them and learned something from them all. But my favorite is "Cold Noses at the Pearly Gates". The author, Gary Kurz, is well qualified to expound on the Bible, and he offers many solid scriptural details to substantiate his case for eternal life in Heaven for animals. Along the way, he shares stories of some of his own pets, as well as other experiences he has had with animals. All in all, the book is delightful, uplifting, and enlightening; easy to read and not ponderous. Best of all, reading this book gave me confidence that I will indeed see my beloved pets once again. This assurance is a huge comfort to me and helps me deal with the losses from the perspective of what eternity will bring. I found this book to be rewarding and well worth my time, and I believe anyone who reads "Cold Noses" will find it to be a blessing.
