Rating: Summary: This book is a God send Review: Before ordering/reading this book (as well as some others) I read the reviews. This book seems to have the most reviews and it is no wonder - it is a God send. I could not agree more with most of the good reviews - just the title alone gave me hope, but the words the author wrote just spoke to my heart. I found some of the other reviews to be inaccurate, but everyone is entitled to their opinion I suppose. But the one opinion that there were two chapter 2s was almost funny - the author purposely divided chapter 2 into two sections. I will agree with the commentator however - if you don't believe in a christian God, you probably won't find this book helpful. I wonder though, how anyone can seek information about the afterlife of their pets without believing in God? Thank you for this book.
Rating: Summary: Gentle encouragement to the newly bereaved Review: Gary Kurz's book gave me such comfort in those early days of my loss. It gave me the courage to once again have hope of seeing my precious Khiori again. And it gave me the courage once more to search the Bible for what God said rather than man. Thank you, Gary Kurz, for writing "Cold Noses at the Pearly Gates". It has meant so much to me and so many others. We become so attached to our pets, loving them unconditionally and being loved so unconditionally - it's hard to think God doesn't too. And now we have courage thru your book to continue to search God's word bravely for what He has planned for His creation - not what mankind has dictated He will do with His animals.
Rating: Summary: Wonderfully helpful book about pet loss Review: This book helped me immensely in dealing with the recent loss of my precious Siamese cat, Boo Boo. I sent for this book on a rush basis because I so wanted to know where he was in the spirit world. Mr. Kurz not only sent me the book but also a wonderful letter that brought me to tears. He has such a kind heart and is a truly gifted, compassionate writer. He gets into your soul and more importantly, your pets' soul. I highly recommend this very insightful book. Especially if you have a Boo Boo in your life!!
Rating: Summary: Great Comfort! Review: This was a wonderful book that came along for me an my family at a very hard time. Just a couple of days after we lost our family dog,"Sam" after 19 years I found his site for this book. I was doing all types of searches, finding website after website but none had what I wanted till I found this book. It was as if I was led to my computer to find this book. I had been crying and just thinking of Sam, and decided to check my e-mail. While on AOL I typed keyword dogs and that started my search. I had never planned to look for this when originally signing on. I also want to say that Gary wrote a great book, but he is also a great person. I have e-mailed him with questions, and other things and he has always responded quickly. I feel like Gary's knowledge of the bible is great, and this book just proves his biblical knowledge, along with his strong passion for caring for pets and other people. Great Job! Cant wait for Part 2.
Rating: Summary: A great help to those with a broken heart! Review: "Cold Noses" is an excellent book. During the loss of our beloved Cocker Spaniel I found that so many christians do not believe in "after life" for animals. I wanted to know that I would be reunited with my dog one day. I heard about Gary's book and could not wait to read it. In the book the author explains so clearly why he believes animals will be a big part of heaven. After reading this book, it makes perfect sense that their is indeed "after life" for animals. I recommend this book to anyone who is hurting over the loss of an animal.
Rating: Summary: Heart was empty but is now filling up with memories Review: I lost 2 Cocker Spaniels within 2 months of each other due to cancer. Oh the hurt of the loss just overcame me. All I did everyday was think of my babies, what happened and could I ever overcome my loss. I never thought I could until I read Gary's book..Cold Noses at the Pearly Gates. Reading this book filled me with love, understanding and one thing I want to point out, I felt as if Gary was in front of me talking to me with the warmth I needed. It wasn't like reading a book at all. This book I would recommend to anyone who has lost a hairy child because you'll find your answers through this wonderful and blessed book. Gary has done one marvelous writing and to me he has been a godsend as I thought I would never ever get out of my deep grief for my babies. My heart which became empty is now filling up with memories of my babies. I don't feel the guilt of having new babies which I have now. I would have never brought new babies into my home until I read this book. Please get this book if your hurting, feeling guilty or just wonder what happens after your loss, I know you'll find out you have more love inside to share for a new baby which is waiting just for you. Gary thank you so much and again, your a godsend.
Rating: Summary: Good stuff Review: This is a great book for those who have recently lost a pet. Makes you cry happy & sad tears at the same time.
Rating: Summary: Cold Noses at the Pearly Gates Review: Our family lost two of our beloved dogs within 5 months. Coping with their loss and not knowing how or what to say to our children has been difficult. This book does an excellent job of explaining the spiritual side of loss along with some personal insight by the author. I appreciated Mr. Kurz sharing his own feelings of grief and loss. It made it much easier for me to identify and realize there are other people who feel the same way about losing a friend. I also E-mailed Mr. Kurz, and received a prompt reply that was respectful and empathetic.
Rating: Summary: Excellent, well researched, informative & thought provoking Review: I think Gary Kurz did an excellent job of getting his view point across in a very possitive manner. I appreciate the fact that he took the time to make sure he got the Gospel message across as well. The salvation of souls is of primary importance. I share his love for animals & have always felt that animals will be in heaven. It is hard to find someone to agree with me, but Gary Kurz not only agrees with me but gives plenty of evidence to support that view as well. For those of you that don't believe that animals will be in heaven, where do the horses come from spoken about in scripture? And, if God expects us to care for His creatures, what makes you think God hasn't made provision for them as well. Though not in the same way as He has provided for people, animals have their place here & they will have their place in heaven also. Again, I want to congratulate Gary Kurz for a job well done & not being afraid to tackle a controversial subject. Excellent job, Gary.
Rating: Summary: Very easy to read.. Review: I normally don't like to write a review of any books I read, because my likes and yours will most likely be diffrent. But this book is special. If ever you lost a pet you surely have felt bad or you never would have had the pet in the first place.. Gary makes you feel that comfort of knowing that you will indeed see your pet again. Just as you know you will see a grandparent, child, or any loved one who has left us. I found the reading quite easy to read. The section on where Gary writes about his own pets, brings back memories of my pets..and after all that is what we cherish the most, the sweet memories. Thank you Gary
