Summary: A Story of Truly Heroic Solders
Review: Some people say that there are no heroes in war. Well this book proves them wrong. It's well defined story tells of SOG recon teams whose every mission was against the odds. These men will amaze you as they do the impossible. Always out numbered, but amazingly they acheive the impossible. They saved downed pilots and countless U.S. lives through their recon. It will give you new understanding of both Vietnam and war itself. This book is a must read!!!!!!!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Get some sleep, you will be up reading the rest of the night
Review: This is the best book I have read in years. The true stories of heroisim are enough to make you feel unworthy. Mr. Plaster takes the time to lead the reader into the secrets of the American Soldiers that made their own way in to and out of Cambodia and Laos. From the heart rending sacrifices of the men, to the upper echeolons slowly won respect, this story will take you behind the secret curtain.

Summary: Best of the Best
Review: This book, I thought, had so much detail of every extraction, ambush, and assult the SOG recon teams preformed, that I couldn't put the book down!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: SOG - Great tips and tricks for the military professional
Review: An outstanding book relating the activities of special operations in Vietnam. Great information on the art of patrolling which is a skill that is rapidly fading in this era of "downsizing" and budget limitations.

I'm also interested in contacting the author, MAJ John L. Plaster (Ret) to autograph a copy of this book for a team sergeant that is retiring after 24 years of service. Anyone with information on how to contact him please drop me a line. Thanks.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Best book about the Vietnam War, ever!
Review: I waited almost 30 years for this story to be told. It's about what is best about the United States Military. There is more heroism and adventure than all of Tom Clancy's books combined. If you served in Vietnam, knew someone who did, or even if you protested the war, read this book. It's 6-stars. Don Gordon, formerly Captain, 403rd Special Operations Detachment, 5th SFG, Vietnam

Summary: WOW!!! AWESOME!!!
Review: This book is so good I read it twice! Comedy, action, adventure, tragedy, and especially heros all in one book; It almost made me cry. John Wayne would be proud.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A well written story about very brave men.
Review: This book was very enlightening for me. I served in Vietnam for 24 months but had no idea we were operating this much recon in Laos and Cambodia. These were very brave men and my thanks go to the author for doing the research and bringing their stories to public attention after many years of relative obscurity. This story needed to be told!
