Summary: Absolutely Top of the Line!
Review: All the others have said it all. Beautifully written. Difficult to put down. Hard to forget. A bit lengthy, but I recommend the whole series highly. Could not put them down. Can't wait for the next won. Go for it Diana!

Summary: The best book anyone will ever read.
Review: Diana's Outlander has been one of the best books that I have ever read in my whole life. I am only 17 year old teenager. This book brought tears to my eyes. The characters were well wrtten. Diana Gabaldon is the best author. These books most get on the bestseller list. If I had the power to rule this world I would make every woman read Diana's books.

Summary: This series is simply the best.
Review: If I had one problem with this series it would be that it was too short. I just didn't want the adventure to end, nor did I want to say goodbye to Jamie and Claire. I can't add anything new to what has been said by other reviewers except wouldn't you just like to have dinner with these two. My main reason for commenting on this series, is in hopes that some bookseller will read all these reviews, come to his/her senses and get these books out of the Romance section! I almost didn't buy this book for that reason and would have missed all the fun.

Summary: FINALLY, A MULTI-DIMENSIONAL HERO
Review: I am one of those romance readers who is a bit tired of the tall, dark and handsome alpha-males that seem to overpopulate the bulk of romance novels. I know this genre is supposed to be escapist and not necessarily PC, but come on, let's leave the brooding to Mr. Rochester!!! Cardboard is for boxes, not characters.

In Jamie Fraser, Diana Gabaldon has created a hero who is multi-faceted and quite believable. Jamie made me laugh, made me sometimes want to smack him when he behaving badly, made me sigh when he was being unabashedly romantic (one of the few male virgins in romance, by the way). Unlike most male characters in romance who are vulnerable yet hide their pain with a mask of supposed erotic indifference, Jamie is vulnerable in more realistic way. A man who loved his family, and a woman from the future so much, he was willing to give his life to save them. In creating the character of Jamie Fraser, Ms. Gabaldon has set a new standard as to what a male hero should be. Perhaps more romance writers will find themselves rethinking (and re-writing) their male heroes as well.

Before this gets entirely too cerebral, Jamie Fraser looks simply delectable in his kilt...

Summary: Wonderful!
Review: It's all been said already, but this is one of my favorite books of all time! A great adventure-historical romance-sci-fi book! Be careful though - you'll fall in love with Jamie for sure! It is somewhat graphic in some parts, and I recommend it only for the over 16 reader.

Summary: A GREAT ADVENTURE!!!
Review: After reading Into the Wilderness by Sara Donati and liking it. I wondered who Diana Gabaldon was, since she had written a small review on the cover. I do not read that many romantic novels but I thought I would give this one a try. This book was great! I have read MANY books but this one will go to the top of my most memorable books. I am now half way done with Dragonfly in Amber. I bought it an hour after I finished Outlander(I could'nt wait to see what would happen next). I agree with other reviews that say this book should not be in the Romance section. I think some people will not buy them for that reason alone. Looking forward to reading the rest!!!

Summary: The first book of the best series I have ever read!!!
Review: Exciting book written by an author who obviously researched her technical material beforehand. Dianne Gabaldon has moved the the very top of my favorite authors with her series about time traveler Claire and Jamie, a man who lived 200 years before her birth. This is one book that you will rarely find in a used book store... everyone wants to keep their copy to be reread later. Be sure to follow-up with Dragonfly in Amber, Voyager, and Drums of Autumn. You will not be disappointed!

Summary: The best book I have ever read...
Review: I have never read a book 5 times and not tired of it until Outlander. Mrs. Gabaldon truely has an excellent gift for storytelling. I cried and laughed throughout the whole book. I really enjoyed all of the historical facts in the book. All the research Mrs. Gabaldon did, really paid off. There were times that I was so swept away in the book my husband became jealous. I would recommend this book to everyone, and I know I will be reading it again. Thank you Diana, for such a wonderful escape...I am anxiously waiting for the 5th book!!!!

Summary: The best story book I've ever read!
Review: I just finish Outlander,I'm still with them (Jamie and Claire), I was so happy to found out that there was 3 more books that follow there story's, that I'm running to the book store to buy them. Every time I had to put the book down, I was anxious to go back and read more. I would have done the same things she did for the man I love. Keep writing Diana, I wish I could.

Summary: Best books I have ever read (and there have been many)!!
Review: The "Outlander" series is by far the best set of books that I have ever read! So good in fact, that I try to get everyone I know to read them. Only two people that I have given the first book to have never gone on to finish the series. One of my close friends and I talk about the books so often, we convinced another close friend (who does not read much beyond mysteries and true crime) to read Outlander. She finished it and demanded the rest of the series! She is now avidly awaiting "The Fiery Cross" with the rest of us. Diana Gabaldon has a storytelling ability like no other that I have ever seen and in the words of my mother "what an imagination"! Her theories on the standing stones found throughout the British Isles is thought provoking. The wonderful story that began with a post-war nurse getting reaquainted with her husband in Scotland and being thrown back in time to Jacobean Scotland continues with the story of her daughter in "Drums of Autumn". I can't wait for the next installlment of the series. I also can't wait for Diana's new mystery that she is currently working on. Just one thing to add, I think that the publisher and the bookstores have done a great disservice by classifying these books as Romance. They are far from being your typical romance and I think that this classification deters many people who think that romance books are all fluff and not worth reading. I think reading is important, no matter what you're reading.
