Summary: Outlander and sequels are the best I have ever read.
Review: If there were a rating higher than 10, I would give this series a 25! I was unable to pick up any other book for some time after reading the first three. I felt a distinct sense of loss until I could get to the next adventure with Jamie and Claire. The characters are fully realized and you love them or hate them and suffer with them, accordingly. Of course, my "crush" on Jamie will not abate, but Claire offers stiff competition. I have not yet read "Drums of Autumn" because I cannot bear to reach the end of this wonderful saga. D. Gabaldon's writing is exceptional, as is her knowledge of history. These are the best books I have ever read! I never found any of the three too long; each became too brief as I came closer to the last page. I agree that these novels far transcend the romance genre and only wish that they had been marketed better than they were.

Summary: I couldn't let go of the books.
Review: I haven't seen any revews from Sweden, so here is one. In Sweden those books are five (Voyager is editioned in two books). I really loved those books, and I could imagine myself in that time. I wish I had Diana Gabaldon skill for writing like this. I have read the books twice, and planning on reading them again this summer. It is very interesting to read about the life and the whole atmosphere in the 1700ths. I think I have to go to Scotland just to see it for real.

Summary: Excellent book!
Review: I loved this book, along with the other three. I couldn't stop reading until I was done with all of them. Now I am impatiently waiting for the next (not due out until 1999). Please read them!

Summary: The Great(est)Escape
Review: I am an avid reader of many types of prose, fiction and nonfiction as well. Though not Anne Tyler, Anna Quindlan, or those (wonderful) modern literature authors, Diana Gabaldon takes you on an incredible trip - you will be forever touched by Jamie and Claire and I guarantee you will not put down this novel. Do not think of it as a "romance" novel ala LaVyrle Spencer or Danielle Steele. There is much history (in fact I bookmarked a website on Culloden) and adventure as well. Diana - I shake your hand!

Summary: Two words....absolutely stunning!
Review: I teach school and generally don't have time to read for pleasure , rather I didn't until a friend gave me a copy of Outlander. I am now half way through Drums of Autumn and dread the day I finish, never to hear from Claire and Jaimie again ? Diana is topnotch in her historical facts and the thread she uses to connect her stories is simply summed up in " I can't put it down".
Please have another in the works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: Wonderful!
Review: My husband and I "read" the book Vogyager last summer via audio cassette last summer. This book hooked us on Claire and Jaime. We couldn't wait to read the others in the series and immediately went to our local bookstore and purchased the other books in the series. . I am an avid reader of historical romances and I can't wait for Ms. Gabaldon to come out with another in the series! What a great way to read about the history of our world. We are waiting the fifth book to find out what will happen with Bree!

Summary: They're so good I had to get them in hardback !!!!!
Review: I am an avid fan of the Outlander series-for life! I loved everything about them. Well almost everything--Jamie's torture at the hand of Jack Randall, ripped my heart out--but Claire to the rescue!! My husband bought all four books for me in hardback, because he knew how much I love them!! And by the way, Jamie lives, I'm married to him. I think that may be one of the reasons I love the books so much. Jamie sounds like my husband, although he has never spanked me (and wouldn't dare)!! I can't wait for the next two books. Hurry Diana!!!!

Summary: EXCELLENT BOOK!!!!!
Review: This whole series has made me look into Scottish History and the Jacobite War. Thank you Diane for showing a romance and history book packed into one. I'm a history buff and loved looking into the past. I recommend this book to anyone who loves to escape into time/romance/history. I'm awaiting book 5.

Summary: The worst book I have ever read
Review: The worst imaginative fiction I've ever read is a book called Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. It is about a nurse in 1941 who goes back in time accidently to 18th century Scotland through a stone circle. The first bit of the book is ok, but then when the protagonist has a chance to choose between going back to her husband in 1941 who is a professor, and a sensitive guy who cares about her, and staying with this Scottish warrior guy that she has been forced to marry who beats her and treats her as if he owns her and she must obey everything he says, she chooses to stay! And when he doesn't respect her limits, and her wishes, she grumbles a bit and then ends up liking it and then is even more in love with him than before. And as if that's not enough, the novel degenerates into a romance novel with a bunch of sex scenes, (and here I was expecting a combination of science fiction and historical fiction,) Boring! It made me lose my respect for the character and for the author. And to think that it's a bestseller! I stopped after reading about half the book because I just couldn't take any more.

Summary: Diana Gabledon keeps me coming back for more!
Review: As an avid reader, I appreciate being able to revist my favorite characters over and over again. This is not just another sappy romance, but a book with intrique, adventure and a history lesson to boot! The characters are so likable and complex. I was so glad that I didn't have to leave them when the book ended...Keep writing!!!
