Rating: Summary: Stunning Review: A hysterical, peaceful work. Sandlin writes remarkably clean prose filled with characters that you'll remember long after you've moved on. Under the quiet Western sky, Skipped Parts still moves along at a brisk pace. While trendy candidates for Novelist of the Month follow a Masterplots plan of contrived situations and stupid victims of circumstance, Sandlin populates the town of GroVont with real people living out realistic, honest misadventures. An outstanding piece of writing.
Rating: Summary: Believe The Hype Review: After reading the reviews here, I was definitely curious about this book. Upon reading it you can add me to the list of readers who felt it was amazing. It's hysterical. It's characters are heart warming and believable. It's a dope book. I'm onto the next in the GroVont trilogy.
Rating: Summary: Favorite book of all time! Review: Consider yourself lucky if you've just happened upon this page. Tim Sandlin's GroVont triology is funny, touching and even more funny. I'm talking laugh out loud funny. I'm quite jealous of people that get to read Sandlin for the 1st time...it's an awesome experience. Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: Very Good...Until the End Review: I absolutely loved this book and couldn't wait to see how it could possibly end. I stayed up past midnight reading the rest of the book and went to bed completely unsatisfied. It was like watching the movie "Kids" with a "Full House" ending. It was all just a little too easy in my opinion.
Rating: Summary: Decent Review: I actually enjoyed this book. It shows a family unit where the son is the leader of the family. This book shows a lot of heart, yet provides some incredibly funny moments. Check it out... I only wish my mother was as cool as the mother of this book.

Rating: Summary: funny, quirky and compelling Review: i admit when i picked up this book and looked at the cover, it didn't appeal to me at all.I excected it to be another trashy romance novel. Well, although love is a central theme in this book, it is handled in a mature, sensitive and realistic way- not sappy or cliched at all. The protagonist Sam is witty yet naive, and is multi-faceted, with a great range of emotions. The relationship between Maurey and him is highly-charged, sensual and bittersweet. While this novel is ultimately a cynical account of first love and sexual awakening, it celebrates the intensity and passion of relationships. If you enjoyed reading this book, you'll appreciate "Girl walking backwards" for similar reasons. Email me at deana778@hotmail.com to recommend any books.
Rating: Summary: I've read this book 4 times and know I'll read it again. Review: I bought 'Skipped Parts' on a blind whim and found that I had been rewarded by discovering a remarkable author who has become one of my favorites. I have read all his books multiple times and am eagerly awaiting his next so I can devour it quickly like the fine candy it is. I think most readers of John Irving and/or Larry McMurtry should really enjoy Sandlin.
Rating: Summary: Amazing Review: I found Skipped Parts because of its cover (movie version). Couldn't put it down till I left it at a friends house. I had to wait a month before I could finish it. It was so good I bought the other two GroVont books. The other two are equally good. I especially like the way Tim shows depth of character. I hope the soon to be made movie is true to this amazing book.
Rating: Summary: So tragic it's hysterical! Review: I have never read a Tim Sandlin book before. I picked this one because I thought the cover art was interesting and the reviews referenced John Irving's style. What a pleasant surprise!! The tragedies are so outrageous that it becomes comic. Sandlin has perfected satirical writing. I loved it so much that I ran out and bought the other two books in his Wyoming Trilogy. A terrific read.
