Rating: Summary: It is driving me crazy Review: I had only read half of it when lost. Now I am always wanting to read the end especilly after reading others of his, it is so hard to find though.
Rating: Summary: I have several copies of this great book Review: This is by far one of Jennings BEST. Much research has gone into writing this book and it vividily tells and accurate story of POLO's adventures as compared to actual happenings. The characters are great - Nostril, Hui-Sheng, Khubali, Mafio, Fondler, so on. It really gives one a good understanding of differences in peoples all over the work. This book is not only a great read but will open your mind and change the way you view the world. It has inspired me to explore new boundaries beyond my daily routines. I can get used copies of this GREAT book if anyone is interested.
Rating: Summary: This book changed my life Review: Jennings creates a masterful world of sex, adventure, and intrigue. Marco Polo's journey begins in Italy and ends in wonder. His description rivals that of someone good. Overall, an A+
Rating: Summary: A real master of the histrical/fiction novel....Fanstastic!! Review: I'm an historical novel lover, and I'd never read something like this, I'd really get transportated to the history of the book, it was amazing!, let me tell you that when I finished to read the book, (the next day) I went to the book store just to buy AZTEC (The spanish version, of course).....Thank you Gary for guide our minds out of the stress of the world.
Rating: Summary: SIMPLY OUTSTANDING!!! Review: I READ THIS IN PAPERBACK A FEW YEARS AGO AND LOANED IT TO A FRIEND (NOW AN EX-FRIEND SINCE THEY CAN'T FIND IT)I CAN'T GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD AND I WANT TO READ IT AGAIN. I HAVE SEARCHED EVERYWHERE FOR ANOTHER PAPERBACK COPY. ANYONE OUT THERE KNOW WHERE I MIGHT FIND IT?
Rating: Summary: Jennings delivers again. Review: This was the second book of Mr. Jennings that I read, the first being Raptor. It followed the same format of a sweeping trek across a continent displaying all of the diversities of it's peoples. I give it a 4 out of 5 stars only because the supporting characters weren't brought to life as well as in Raptor. Kubilai and Marco's uncle Mafio were the only memorable characters, but to me they didn't compare to Wyrd, Theodoric, or Strabo from Raptor. Still, it was a great story and impossible to put down.
Rating: Summary: A superb historical novel that is one of the best ever. Review: This is a fictional account of the life of Marco Polo. For 1000+ pages you'll be enthralled by one of the greatest adventure stories of all time. Mesmerizing, without a boring page or even a clanking sentence. A masterwork! Deserves 15 stars.
Rating: Summary: The best journey of my life !!! Review: In 1995 I was travelling Europe and found myself on a yacht as a working crew member delivering it to the Carribean. In the yacht's library was a copy of Jenning's "The Journeyer" and as it was a nice thick book and I am a vociferous reader I thought it would keep me entertained for the duration of the long journey. Was I wrong, I could not put the book down, it took me on the journey of my life. The characters were so real, and the places he described were so vivid that I was living them. It was by far the best book I have ever read too. the saddest part is that I have been trying to find my own copy for ages now as I want to pass it on for others to enjoy, but I live in South Africa and no book shop here can find it for me, they keep telling me it is out of print. If anyone has any ideas please e-mail me so that I can try and get hold of it.
Rating: Summary: What a great Book Review: A masterpiece of historical fiction, Jennings is one of the most greatest writers in this topic. Aztec is good, but The Journeyer is better.
