Rating: Summary: The marketing of soda - a love story. Review: This book had a very similar feel to it as Jennifer Gov't - that sort of fast paced captilalism/commercialism - it keeps the story rollin'. I loved the plot. But I was never sold on Sneaky Pete as a character, he didn't have personality, and I found the romantic relationships to be unrealistic. I still liked the book overall and would read Barry again.
Rating: Summary: option me! Review: Overall this book felt it was trying too hard to be a movie. If the ending had been anything but what it was, I might have been easier here, but the ending is absolutely, feel-good, get-the-girl-embarrass-the-bad-guy terrible. It even has a movie-like epilouge, one of those "where are they now?" things. Awful. So, overall the book is so-so, occassionally amusing, and really easy to get through in a few hours, but don't expect much of a payoff.
Rating: Summary: As sweet and refreshing as its title Review: A warm, quick, wonderful book filled with likeable characters, cut-throat, mean snakes in the grass, and delight spilling from every page. A true sensation.
...How's THAT for marketing, Mr. Barry?
