Review: A Japanese-American is on trial for a murder he did not commit. He is being on trial because of the prejudicy state the country is in at that time. The trial brings up a whole lot of conflict and misconduct in the little town of San Piedro. The trial takes place in the winter of 1954. It reflects how the Japanese race was treated during that time and it shows how one dramatic trial can change a whole town's perspective of one person. The trial brings jelousy and conflict during the whole novel. It is a very great suspense novel.

Review: I HAVE TO BE HONEST. AT FIRST I REALLY HATED THIS BOOK. IT STARTED OUT REALLY SLOW, AND IT WAS REALLY HARD FOR ME TO GET INTO IT. I WILL ADMIT THOUGH I DID NOT GIVE THIS BOOK A FAIR CHANCE. ONCE I DID READ IT, AND GOT MORE INTERESTED IT WAS VERY GOOD. I ESPECIALLY LIKED IT AT THE END WHEN THE STORY ABOUT CARL AND KABUO CAME OUT. ABOUT HOW THEY HAD THAT TALK ON THE BOAT, AND SETTLED ALL OF THEIR DIFFERENCES. THAT PART WAS REALLY GOOD. OVER ALL I THOUGHT THE BOOK WAS GOOD. I WOULD RECOMEND IT TO ALL OF MY FRIENDS.

Review: The book didn't seem to to be theat good untill the middle of the book but after I got to the middle the book seemed to be very compelling and interesting to read. The auther was able to really describe this book to the every last detail and that was great. The pages seemed to just fly bye and not stop untill the end of this book. The action in the court room was very descriptave for all readers to undersand the situation that the characters were going threw at all times. Also the detail of the murder was great with alot of detail that even the investigators missed. It kept me reading.

Review: I think this was one of the best books I have ever read. It was the type that once you picked it up you didn't want to put it down. The autor did a great job of shifting back and fourth from past to present. He also did a great job of keeping the outcome of the murder mystery a secret til the end. This book had everything.

Review: By far this is the best book i have ever read. the author takes you from the first sentence in great detail and gets very dramatic all the way to the end. I think the thing i like the most is the grusome details that the author gives throughout the whole story, it is really amazing how the author go's so far in depth. I really enjoyed reading this book i would reccomend it to everybody.

Review: This book is spine tingling novel. This book is mainly about how a Japanese American goes through a serious turnpoint in his life. The Japanese American, Kabuo Miyamoto, is charged for the murder of a local fisherman. While I was reading this book, I got more into it than I thought I would. I couldn't put this book down. When I thought I could put it down there was another piece of a puzzle that I wanted to solve. This book will have you at the edge of your seat. I also like how it turn out to be a love story during the book. If you are looking for a book that you will not be able to put down or you are looking for a good mystery then you should really go and get this book you'll be satsified when you read it.

Review: This was a great book. It tells how a Japanese American is judged by an whole island. The Japanese American, Kabuo Miyamoto, is being charged of a fisherman's murder. I like how the story first takes place in the courtroom. While I was reading it, I felt if I was watching it on television. The suspense keeps you on the edge of your seat making you read more into the book. This book is a mystery, a thriller, and love story wrapped into one novel. If you like mysteries and you want to find out the truth of the murder, then I really think you should read this book.

Review: This book was one of the more interesting books that I have read the whole love problem wath Hatsue and Ishmale was very interesting and confusing but all around a great love side story and the trial and the timing of the trial was just perfict durring WW2 and the evidence against him and the small place it was Just set the mood for the whole book with that love story on the side it was very hard to keep straight but it was good exspecaly at the end. I thought the book at first was bad but it eventually got me and I hate to read so it has to be good.
