Summary: Pretty Good
Review: I think it was a pretty good book with lots of adventure and suspense. It had a good storyline, but some of the creatures and facts were kind of stupid.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This was my first novel i've read it was great!
Review: Great story i couldn't put it down! I'm only 13 and this is the first novel i've ever read and it was the best! I loved James Rollins imagination and the way he had ashley and ben fall in love in the adventure. I was kinda upset when Mo' amba was killed at the end and that everyone blamed Ashley for it but now there is a new bunble of joy to take his place!

Summary: Thank goodness! A good, new writer is here!
Review: This was one of the most satisfying escapist novels I've read in a long time. It got me through one day of a long road trip. Thank you, Mr. Rollins, and please keep writing.

Summary: Adventure? Yes ! Romance ? No !
Review: As an adventure novel Mr Rollins (Jim Czajkowski ?) has produced a wonderful first effort that keeps the reader entertained with a fast paced plot and develops a feeling of tension, which is at times quite intense. However, I was dissapointed in how the romance between the two main characters developed.... it was not believeable, unrealistic and predictable, even though at the start Ben acts like a overly emotional, sex staved maniac. I also think a little more research about the characters country (in this case Australia) was required. The stereotypes were embarassing and Australian slang misused. (eg. How's it going, bloke !) All up this book provided plenty of entertainment once you ignore the irritating "love" story. I look forward to Rollins next novel... hopefully he concentrates on his strengths as an adventure writer ...

Summary: A truly outstanding first effort from James Rollins.
Review: As a student of paleoanthropology myself, I was impressed with what Mr. Rollins did with the scientific aspects of his story without making it boring or incomprehenible. His imagination is phenomenal. I am waiting with barely restained exitement for his next book...

Summary: Adventure, Romance, Unexplored world...
Review: What more could you want? I loved this book! I loved that James Rollins allowed the characters to be human, and interact in a human way, including falling in love under intense circumstances. A good romance coupled with otherworldly adventure makes for the most satisfying read I can imagine. If I could find more such romantic adventures, I would buy them! Please, sir, may I have some more?

Oh, and Ben was great--a hunk with a sense of humor. : )

Summary: Amazingly Excelent!
Review: This book is one of the best I have ever read, and I've read a lot of books. When I started reading, I started losing myself in the story and was surprised once or twice when I looked up and found myself in my living room as opposed to the dark caves of underground Antarctica. The romance between Ben and Ashley may be obvious, as the person above says, but it's heartwarming and truthful. The sequence of events in this book is wonderful, everything from the dramatic foreshadowing to the quick turns in events are a sign that this author is a star. I will be looking for more of his books right away.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Deep Terror
Review: Jules Verne started the story, but James Rollins has refined it. A great read for those who dare not leave the comforts of their easy chair to venture underground. Not since Steward's "Tales of Dirt, Danger, and Darkness," has a book so described the horrors that may lurk in the dark hidden underground worlds. A must read!
