Summary: A waste of time.
Review: 400 pages of unbelievable, awkward reading. From the unrealistic "address the nation" presidential speeches, to the virtually glitch-free assassinations (wasn't there anyone walking around DC those days?) this book had me shaking my head all the way through.

Summary: The first book I haven't been able to put down in a long tim
Review: An avid reader of fiction, and particularly murder mysteries and espionage, I fell upon this book by accident, ecpecting it to be "just another fairly good book". From the minute I picked it up, I am having difficulty going about my daily routine because I simply can't put it down...it is a page turner like I haven't read in a long, long time. I typically don't read 600 page books because I get bored...that's not a word I'd use in describing this one. A great read!

Summary: Had a hard time putting it down!
Review: I started reading this book and ended up in bed until 6:00 in the morning reading the thing. It is a non stop thrill ride full of twists and turns. His characters have depth to them rarly seen in today's writing. If you like clancy you will love this book!

Summary: There's only one problem...
Review: The only problem with the premise of the book: It should have been members of the dynastic financial families, the Yale crowd, and the quasi-governmental think-tanks, who collectively own and direct our elected "representatives". Never doubt the ability of this crowd to infilitrate and compromise to their own benefit, to turn all things to their advantage from their position of oligarchical control of the media, finance, and industry. In the scenario given in the book, you can rest assured that the unwritten chapter at the end would show that they and theirs managed to step to the fore of whatever direction society was perceived to be leaning, (as they ALWAYS HAVE AND ALWAYS WILL) and quietly killed the revolution, replacing unactualized ideals with rhetoric, then buzzwords, then fashion, music, and consumer products. It (the revolution) would have been dead and in the ground for years before the "real" participants even realized what had happened. The death of even a single member of certain families would have the impact of those of a dozen elected puppets, a hundred, hell, all of them put together. I'm not advocating anything, just pointing out that the scenario is out of touch with reality. Belief in this fairy tale is only one step away from believing the fantasy of being able to "fix" this country at the ballot box. In the book's version of the underlying (non-)reality, the bullet becomes the "No" vote which we currently don't have, but it's still the ballot box, and as such is evidence of ignorance of the true shape of things.

Summary: riveting thriller
Review: I found that this book was very exciting. It grabbed my attention right away. It kept me on the edge of my seat, in fact I read it in one day. Very much like a Tom Clancy book. I look forward to reading more of his work.

Summary: Marcinko vs Carville
Review: This book is now in my all-time top 5! It blends politics with special operations. I cheered when our DEVGRP heores began to use their deadly skills on Washington's corrupt. Who wouldn't want to see someone, ala Dick Marcinko, get his hands on James Carville?! If you are someone who is fed up with the BS that goes on in our government, then this is the book for you. The military precision the heroes operate with is true to life, as is the corruption of politicians.

Review: Very well done, thrilling and realistic setting although it's the Truman Balcony at the White House, not the Eisenhower Balcony.

Summary: Outstanding thriller and couldn't put it down kind of book!
Review: I work in a library and have recommended this book to many of our patrons. I rarely find a book I cannot put down temporarily but this is one I had to read until I finished it! We have a lengthy list of library patrons on Reserve for it. This is a great story coming at this particular time.

Summary: A brisk espionage thriller with libertarian undertones.
Review: This novel presents the frightening situation of US members of Congress getting assassinated unless Congress gives in to a very right wing agenda. A young congressman gets involved in solving the mystery and does test his own morals. There are a lot of interesting observations about military culture (especially loner-type ex-military commandos) and civilian intelligence culture. Very briskly written assassination scenes. Since Flynn is a Minnesota native, there is also good background on his part of the country.

Summary: Exciting story, scary plot
Review: I really liked Term Limits. The story kept me interested and involved. I liked the level of detail the author used and he made it all seem plausible to me. The fact that the good guys were good and bad at the same time gave me an uneasy feeling and you can't help but come away from the book with mixed feelings. I liked the ending; it kept me in suspense as the loose ends were wrapped up. I've recommended the book to my friends.
