Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Not Quite
Review: The book is average but the writer shows potential. The book was way too long and sometimes highly predictable (like a television sit-com).

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: One of the funniest books that I've ever read!
Review: The title is somewhat misleading, but this book is a hoot! I read this book while taking some training classes and I laughed the entire time. I would strongly recommend this book.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Hillarious! Funniest book ever!
Review: Bill Fitzhugh is a great author, and very creative. I found the book hysterical from the beginning! The cover jumps out at you and makes you buy the book. The book sounds stupid, but it is the best book ever! I just bought the book for a project and couldn't put it down! I am already searching for more books by Bill Fitzhugh. READ THIS BOOK!

Summary: Fun reading
Review: I have never found anything funny about bugs until I read Pest Control. Fitzhugh's characters are wonderful and his writing style makes them come alive. I would have liked more on the people and less on bugs, but, oh well. I am looking forward to reading more by Fitzhugh.

Summary: buggery
Review: I jsut finished reading it today. I had picked up the book at my local booksellers because is had the words "funny" and "hilarious" all over the cover. I got one out loud laugh, and a few amusing lips curl up to the cheeks. I liked Klaus the Number One assassin the best. The author is clever. I liked the twisting ironic plot. It was amusing but not hilarious like Douglas Adams or some of the other ironic writers of our time making fun of today's society. I learned a lot about insects and bugs. The book is well researched and atypical.

Summary: Could have been much better
Review: I bought and read this book on the author's recommendation (by email) and while there were some fairly funny parts, the story was tedious and the language was atrocious. It is not something I would recommend to friends who aren't entomologists themselves.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Slighty More Funny Than An Entomology Textbook
Review: This author really tries so hard to be funny; you can just feel him straining for each laugh. He's got a modicum of talent, but to compare him with Westlake or Hiaasen would be a real joke if it weren't a bit sacriligious. One of the problems of the book is that the author can't resist providing us with a lot of facts about something we generally have no interest in: bugs. He's like the expert on Proust who bores us to death at a cocktail party by rambling on and on about the great author. And...can you really get into a story where the protagonist's method for killing cockroaches is to stick them in his pants pocket and then smashing them with the palm of his hand? Yes, I am squeamish; I live in Georgia where I have to put up with enough unpleasant insects. I also found that I had no interest in the main character. I really wouldn't have cared if the assassins chasing him would have been victorious, especially if they could have did him in around 100 pages into the book. Then the book would have ended sooner, and I would have saved a lot of time. Will I read his next book? I don't think so.

Summary: Hillarious
Review: I never bought a book just for it's cover but this one called to me. If you liked a fish called wanda you'll love this book. I can't wait to see it on the big screen!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Out of the blue: a very enjoyable read
Review: I seldom pick up a paperback off the stand and start reading it, but for some reason I made the exception in this case. I'm glad I did. The last time I recall picking up an unexpected good read was The Confederacy of Dunces, and that was a long time ago. Probably this isn't the most tightly written mystery/thriller/novel ever, but it has a host of comic characters, a well-paced plot, and enough humor and wit for any three normal comic novels. It reminds me of a good Seinfeld show crossed with a comic mystery. A pleasant surprise.
