Summary: Wonderfully Funny!
Review: As the book opened up, I wondered what Minty was doing marrying this guy. We soon saw that her "darling Dominic" jilted her at the altar. Once Minty got over the shock of it all, her life truly became a whirlwind!

This was truly a light, entertaining read! Minty's escapades were truly cause for laughing out loud. The characters contributed so much to the overall humour of the book. Minty's mother and her crusading for any cause at all. Melinda the hopeless radio presenter, and all of Minty's many friends.

This is a great book to tuck into your suitcase as you head off for a vacation! I look forward to Isabel Wolff's next novel!

Summary: Very good book!
Review: I first heard of Isabel Wolff because I had been recommended the book Tiffany Trott, and because I couldn't find that book, I found this book, so I decided to give Minty Malone a shot. And I'm very glad that I did because I thoroughly enjoyed the book. It was funny and witty, and emcompasses all the hardships that single women have to go through. Well, maybe not all of us have to go through an ordeal of being jilted at the wedding, but we can relate to Minty because of what she goes through with the opposite sex. This book was treat, and I just couldn't but it down, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it too!

Summary: JUST BUY IT!!
Review: This is a fabulous read - gripping, intelligent - SO funny - and with such great characters - in fact it's like watching a movie. Minty is such a loveable heroine - you really root for her as she tries to start over after the defection of the awful Dominic. And there are lovely and original touches, like the parrot which sings Neapolitan love songs and the class for people who are too nice. Alternately laugh-out-loud funny and poignant with a really twisting plot which had me turning the pages in a frenzy. I loved Tiffany Trott and I think this is even better, with more depth, so I can't wait to read OUT OF THE BLUE too.

Summary: I Love Minty Malone!
Review: I finished reading Making Minty Malone last week and I enjoyed it so much. I found it highly entertaining and so funny. I fell in love with Minty and her life. This book is great for anyone, married or single. I laughed out loud so many times and was really sad when it ended! I just ordered The Trials of Tiffany Trot and hope it will be just as great as Making Minty Malone was. BUY THIS BOOK!!

Summary: definitely a good read...
Review: not the best book i've ever read, but certainly not the worst. i find i'm getting into that area where i'm reading all those books about independent young 30something women written by british authors... i don't quite know how it happened, but if you're into those types of books (ralph's party, bridget jones's diary), you'll love this book. the ending is a little disappointing after reading through the entire book, but it only takes a day or two to read, despite its size.

Summary: Entertaining fluff - characters 1 dimensional
Review: This book was an entertaining read but do not expect a great deal of logic. The characters were a bit annoying at times - and most of all - not easy to sympathize with. Why the heck DID Minty want to marry that lug? And why would Joe put up with her? And Why would Minty put up with Amber's pushiness? Yes, I know it's just a book but it just didnt make a lot of sense to me.

Summary: I LOVED THIS BOOK!!
Review: In fact- I loved it enough to have re-read it half a dozen times. Its annother great brit single 30ish woman type book. I really liked it though. If you liked Bridget Jones- you'd like this . It is not the same, but similar humour. Cant wait for the Bridget Jones film coming out this month!!

Summary: Just Plain Old Fun!
Review: Minty Malone is an appealing character, and in MAKING MINTY MALONE, Isabel Wolff has written a novel far superior to most of the rubbish on the market. Wolff has created multiple supporting characters who are believable and well-detailed, and she also provides many different subplots to resolve. In fact, Wolff struck me me as a contemporary, post-feminist Charles Dickens. MAKING MINTY MALONE is easy reading, well-paced and fun--this is light fiction at its best.

Summary: Total Indulgence
Review: Allow yourself the pleasure of reading "Making Minty Malone." This is a wonderfully funny and highly entertaining book. The author does a great job of capturing the travails of 30 something singlehood. And she does so in a very original and witty manner. I enjoyed this book as much as "Tiffany Trott" and I can't wait to see what characters are developed next. All in all, I recommend this book for someone who wants to indulge in a very entertaining read about that period of life. I rank this book up there with "Bridget Jones", "Fried Calamari", and "The Girl's Guide..."

Summary: LOVED IT
Review: I've just read Tiffany Trott, which I loved - and this is even better. I found it just as funny, and just as unpredictable, with possibly a little more depth since Minty is in real pain until she finally gets over Dominic, who dumps her on her wedding day. Minty is a lovely character and her struggle to get over her unhappiness is described very touchingly, but with lots of very funny jokes too - and lots of witty dialolgue, great supporting characters - including a radio presenter with a speech impediment and a parrot which is addicted to Neapolitan love songs. As with Tiffany, this book is both very funny - and also quite poignant - and I really love that combination. It was also impossible to predict what was going to happen since every time I thought I'd got it worked out, I found that Wolff had out-smarted me. Gripping and very witty.
