Rating: Summary: I'd rather read the cereal box Review: Total waste of time. Trite, juvenile... Publisher --- heal thy self.

Rating: Summary: This got me reading again! Review: Being a busy student I do not have much time to read for enjoyment. I seen this book on a display at work and thought it sounded pretty good. After much debate I decided to buy it not thinking I would finish reading it. I havent been able to put it down! I do not want to give anything away but I can say the suspense is never ending! Way to go Patterson! And thank you! You have brought back my days of reading for enjoyment. I will now make time just for that!
Rating: Summary: Just Terrible............. Review: I really thought that this was going to be a great book...and it does have a really interesting plot...but just a weak book overall...grisham could have done a better job with the development of the characters and the plot...the ending is so unrealistic....DON'T READ
Rating: Summary: Fun audio addition! Review: Okay, the plot is formulaic, but Gil Bellows does a great narration in the audio addition of this book. I found this book to be very entertaining during my daily commute. The plot does have a few unexpected twists, and I found myself routing for Jack and company and the book progressed.
Rating: Summary: A Really Good Summer Read Review: I started this book on a Saturday and finished it the next day. It was exciting, interesting, and a lot of fun to read. It centers around the Hamptons and an almost cliche tension between wealthy vacationers and the townies, throwing in a "local boy on his way to the big time" undertone. Make no mistake--this is not Nathaniel Hawthorne and strains to even be on par with Grisham. The final third or so of the book requires an incredible suspension of disbelief. Still, the story is enticing enough to keep you turning pages up until to the end.
Rating: Summary: Warning Review: I enjoyed this novel. I like Patterson because his books are so fast-paced. He accomplishes this by writing short chapters that make the reader "read just a little bit more." I must warn you that this book contains adult-orientated material. I consider myself to be a liberal kind of guy. However I wouldn't want my child, under the age of 18, to read this novel. It contains twisted sexual situations that many would find offensive. The X-rated parts though are brief and don't make up a large part of the book. If you can stomach such content, I recommend this fast-paced and fun read.
Rating: Summary: Life In The Fast Lane Review: Peter Mullen is parking cars at a party hosted by Campion and Barry Neubauer at their lush beach house in Amagansett on Long Island. He dies in a supposed drowning accident but his family and friends think he may have been murdered. Peter's older brother is a law student at Columbia University. With the encouragement of his friends he orchestrates a push for an investigation into Peter's death. It gets the attention of the media but soon it also becomes clear that wealthy interests in the town and the local police do not want the investigation to go any further. Jack's friends are being followed and intimidated. Then Jack learns some disturbing facts about Peter's recent past. Peter had paid cash for his new car and left a bank balance of more than $187,000 to which Jack was the sole heir. Apparently Peter had been hired by the Newbauers to do more than park cars. After Pauline Grabowski agrees to help Jack with his investigation, the truth starts coming out about Peter's murder. Pauline is a private investigator for the city's most prestitigious law firms but for once she decides to work on the side of the good guys. Jack is also aided by his octogenarian grandfather. BEACH HOUSE is a story that moves fast. It helps that the authors have the knack of using short paragraphs and chapters. The book reads as if it is written according to a formula and the formula almost works well.
Rating: Summary: Hopelessly Bad............... Review: Once again, after the poor 2nd chance, Patterson did another poor fiction again!! sorry for using so many 'agains', because this Beach House is really bad! Perhaps Patterson is writing too much for the past years, then the quality of works are diminishing enormously. Anyway, i think i will not buy anymore....
Rating: Summary: Fast Paced, Gripping Story Review: The Beach House was an excellent read. It had a good storyline and good character development. Other malcontent reviewers on this site fail to realize that the most of the snobby Manhattan-Hamptons characters in the book, don't actually have much character for Patterson to develop. The strength is the character development of the Mullen family and the well crafted storyline. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for good summertime entertainment.
