Summary: Great Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring read!
Review: One of the more entertaining books I've read recently. Some of the most fun in print. The only thing Corey did not quip was that "she had legs that would make a Bishop kick out a stain glass window...."

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: I miss John's sarchasm..he was definitely not boring
Review: While I found portions of the story predictible, I still did not want to put the book down or end. I have read several of DeMilles books and will continue to enjoy his work. I like his women, they have substance and individuality. John Corey's jokes were entertaining and well placed. Who among us has not uttered some of the same sarchasms under their breath in similar situations?

Summary: Couldn't help casting the movie
Review: What a great read, the kind of story that would translate well onto film. I found myself casting the movie - Tommy Lee Jones, Uma Thurman, Jeremy Irons.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Gave up on it.
Review: I have a rule when I read a book, if the first 100 pages don't grab me I throw in the towel. This was my first reading of a Nelson Demille book. I must say I was disappointed. I did not like his style of writing at all. He seems to try to hard to be hip. The story was slow going and I finally surrendered and started another book.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Great title and cover art, but the book fizzled out - FAST !
Review: I was very disappointed in this book, mostly because his previous book "Spencerville" really stuck. I was looking forward to this book very much, but the main character really bothered me because of his sarcastic attitude and lousy sense of humor. It's a poor retelling of The General's Daughter; a much superior novel.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Oh I love Demille for his sarcasm!
Review: I am a HUGE Demille fan, and Plum Island did not let me down! Nothing like sitting on a plane and laughing out loud ( I am so tempted to explain the laugh to a stranger next to me while I wipe away tears and try to compose myself). Intrigue, sex and humor, all my favorties!

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Should get ¿the most obnoxious main character¿ prize.
Review: Lack of suspense coupled with the totally obnoxious "hero" of the story is way out of line with other Demille books that I've read. I'm glad that I only borrowed this book.

Summary: A great book with many plot twists and unexpected happenings
Review: Plum Island is a masterpiece. The story starts off as John Corey,a police officer wounded in duty, starts investigating the double homicide of two biologists that work(ed) at Plum Island an animal research facility thought to be an incubator for germ warfare. When what seems to be a simple robbery gone bad turns into a plan to sell chemicals to a forgein power the stakes are raised considerably. The book is cover to cover action and is very easy to read without to many technical terms. I found nothing wrong with this book as it was brillantly written. I highly recomend Plum Island to anybody who has the time to read a good book.

NOTE:The ending will surprise you so dont think that a told you anything!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I loved this book. I laughed and cried out loud.
Review: Being a Long Islander all my life, I found Plum Island expecially compelling. I didn't want the story to end.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent summer read
Review: An excellent book for a couple of afternoons in my hammock. Maybe I am an incorrigible cynic as well. I read Oprah's choices sometimes, but this was so entertaining without requiring me to dissect my early childhood. This book relaxed me and made me laugh. This and Gold Coast are my favorite DeMille's.Thanks. What's next?
