Summary: An excellent thriller, whether pacifists like it or not
Review: This exciting page-turner is both a genuine thriller and an extremely useful introduction to the looming problem of nuclear sabotage by rogue nations in the 21st century. I have read the pacifist critiques of the book; all of them are facile and some of them are downright scary. Our freedom is guaranteed by our military, not by pious wishes. This well-written book highlights the serious threats our Navy faces today. It should be an inspiration, both for Annapolis cadets and for the ordinary Americans who benefit daily from their vigilance.

Summary: Implausible!
Review: This book has so many errors in it that you don't have to be a military Historian to find it laughable. The books Conservative President is a lesson in moral hypocrisy. The hero has no redeeming qualities. Fortunately I listened to it on tape. I had to listen to whole tape because I couldn't believe how bad it really was.

This book rates one Star because you cannot award zero stars.

Summary: Good, but a bit boring in parts
Review: Patrick Robinson may have made some minor mistakes with rank etc, but ignoring that I tought it was quite a good book. It did have some quite boring parts, and there was a big build-up to the 'action' bits, which were not as detailed as the rest of the book.

Summary: Great! One of the best books I have ever read!
Review: Great! Only one word cam sum up what I thought of Nimitz Class by Patrick Robinson. It was a very interesting and exciting book. I couldn't put the book down once I started reading. At every plot twist, you wonder how the great mystery which surrounds and fills every page of this wonderful piece of fiction will finally be solved. This book will be liked very much by anyone interested in the military, ships, submarines, the United States Navy, or just some good old action. The plot was great, containing moments of suspense balanced with moments of complete mystery. Overall, I really liked this book and would recommend it and other books by Patrick Robinson to anyone interested in the Navy, especially submarines. These factors make Nimitz Class one of the best books I have ever read!

Summary: Not wanting to say anything overtly bad
Review: I would not particularly recommend this book for those seeking fast-paced, realistic military thrillers. I would recommend books by those who have actually worn a uniform and piloted a plane or sweated under the weight of a heavy ruck. Such as Stephen Coonts or Bob Mayer. Check their books out.

Summary: HOO-AH !!!!!!
Review: I feel kind of bad giving this book 5 stars . It should get 7 or 8 . This is a must for anyone who is interested the our armed forces . Also the sequals , Kilo Class a H.M.S. Unseen , are even better ( that is to say if it is possible )

Summary: Correct Facts, please!
Review: I cannot believe how reviewers could compare this with Clancy. There are so many facts plain wrong regarding naval aviation that I can hardly believe it. Be it ranks, the details of flying an aircraft or operations on a carrier or the radio communications - many things are ridiculous, most plain wrong. It spoils what could otherwise have been a great book - especially since all these facts are readily available, e.g. by reading a few from Clancy, Coonts et al.

Summary: Good story & technical aspects, needs some help
Review: I enjoyed the story, but the book needs a little work. The author was quite obviously British, and he had Americans talking like Brits. We almost never use "great" for the word "big". Also, he manufactured a few ranks here and there. There is no such a thing as an ensign junior grade, we haven't had a 5 star general since the fifties and lieutenant commander is not abbreviated lieutenant. If it is shortened, it's shortened to commander. Again, it was an enjoyable story, if a little predictable.

Summary: would rate zero stars, if available
Review: An absolutely abominable book. Puerile prose, plastic characters and a preposterous plot make for an utterly miserable read. Welcome to the world of the right wing military nut who doesn't know his subject, but spouts off regardless. Quite similar to Limbaugh. Don't waste your money or time.
