Summary: already permanently on my desk!
Review: i've long been a fan of lucky, and was excited to see they had published a book. i ordered it from amazon last week and have to say how surprised i was when it arrived-this is more of a fashion bible than just a longer magazine

intuitively i understood the layout and how-to guides. the design is just so clean! in general, the information is extremely useful and abundant. actually, that would be my only criticism-there is so much to learn from this book that it will take me a looooong time to get it all in head. but i take it wardrobe by wardrobe and season by season, just like the book recommends.

if only i earned enough to buy all the clothes inside, i would really be a "lucky" girl!

Summary: If you love fashion, this book is for you.
Review: If you enjoy reading Lucky magazine, then you will love this book. Even if you don't like the magazine, you still will probably love this book. It gave me so many ideas for clothing combinations that I never thought of before. I felt like I had a whole new wardrobe! In addition to showing outfits, the book also includes helpful hints, drawings, tips, and style profiles. The Lucky Shopping Manual has become my Bible.

Summary: Excellent. Only lacking one chapter...
Review: If you want a complete guide to revamp your closet this is your book. However, the book is lacking in one thing: a chapter on accessories. Otherwise, the manual is excellent! In my opinion, Lucky magazine is the best shopping magazine for young women too.

Summary: Better Fashion Suggestions Than Lucky Magazine's
Review: Lucky Magazine rarely features impressive fashion ideas. Their monthly fashion suggestions look too unkempt and rough around the edges to actually wear out in public. They never leave me with the feeling that I must rush out to a store or boutique and pick up a certain piece of clothing or accessory. Until Lucky Magazine refines their ideas about fashion suggestions, I will continue to consult In Style Magazine for fashion advice each month.

However, I will admit I was pleasantly surprised by The Lucky Shopping Manual. Kim France, et al., have some great fashion suggestions for all figure types. The authors encourage you to mark up their manual as you would one of their magazines and also to carry it around with you as you shop. The one thing I really liked about The Lucky Shopping Manual is that it offers it's readers stylish yet classic fashion advice. I think there are some excellent suggestions for building a work wardrobe and incorporating style into your weekend clothes. My advice to you is to skip the magazine and buy this manual instead. I'm looking forward to future editions and I feel this book is a good investment.

Summary: Best Woman's Wardrobe Book of Late
Review: Lucky magazine?s excellent book, the Lucky Shopping Manual, is a great splurge for any woman who is looking to build her wardrobe, rebuild it, or revamp it. I?ve only gotten through half of the book, but I can honestly say it is worth every cent. It instructs how to determine the proper fit of every bit of clothing from jeans & tee-shirts to dresses & suits. It also gives tailoring, and accessory suggestions with witty aplomb. It?s the best book of its ilk that I've purchased over the past six months. In Style's book of style is good, but could have been organized a little better. The "What Not to Wear" book was more straightforward and slim lined, but made me feel, surprisingly, slovenly. Lucky?s book makes me feel like I've gotten it right at least half-way right.

Summary: Exactly what it promises!
Review: No more or no less!
Personally I loved the book and bought it because of the positive reviews it has received.
It won't teach you what body type is yours but if you know your cirtical parts you'd like to hide or your positive ones you'd highlight then there on it'll explain everything you need to know.
It'll show lots of great examples of what is flattering and why, when you try on that particular clothes how to determinate the right fit. It talks about accessories, bags, shoes, underwear, swimsuits, etc. Lots of subject is covered in here very well! Easy to understand and follow, everything is in order.
You'll learn how to organize your closet so each morning when you sould be on your way to work won't stand puzzled, thinking what to wear...I had a closet full of clothes but nothing to wear (how tipical!) I've been always late from everywhere because it took me an hour (sometimes even more) trying on clothes, deciding what to wear, then I just got back to the same old item I've picked the firs place and to the couple of items I wore all the time.
Having this book on my bed while organizing my closet, sorting out, getting rid of things I havent' wore for years really helped. I've also added a couple of items and now I far better off like this! Now I can just add the right clothes to my closet gradually.
If you don't have any trouble you just looking for inspiration, some great new look then you may find this book a little boring sice you know all this stuff already. On the other hand if you need lots or even just some advise you'll find this book extremly helpful!

Summary: The Perfect Style Manual
Review: Ok, It has to be said. This book is bloody brilliant!!
I already have a subscription to "Lucky" magazine and I thought it couldn't get any better! This book covers everything and all body types (no stick figures here ladies) Average, tall, petite, full figured, big bum, no bum, big boobs, no boobs. This lovely book is a dream come true! Trinny and Suzannah (BBC What Not To Wear) would be so proud of their American "sister's in fashion" across the pond! The perfect Christmas gift for your sister. daughter, mom or girlfriend! If they don't sell out! Thank ladies of "Lucky"!!!!!!!

Summary: Warning: May Induce Shopping Frenzy
Review: The best thing about this book is that it is chock full of pictures of every element of a woman's wardrobe: tops, skirts, dresses, work clothes, fun clothes, formal wear.

This book is extremely useful as an "idea" book. Maybe you're bored with your look and want something different. This book is great in helping you visualize how different pieces may go together. They give you tips about how to wear certain fabrics--leather, silk, tricky sweaters and lengths. I feel that I can be a little bit more adventuresome in my look. I found that I was able to take things that were already in my wardrobe and wear them in a different way. It's also a good book to look through before you go shopping if you're in a rut.

I feel that this book is geared more toward women who already have a sense of their personal style and what looks good on them. The tips provided go beyond the basics to things that take a "good" outfit to something more polished and chic. It might be a little overwhelming for those who are just starting out in creating a new wardrobe or look. With all of the ideas provided, I could see how a beginner might start buying without a driving principle and wind up with clothes that she does not feel comforable in. I would recommend a book like the "Pocket Stylist" by Kendall Farr in addition to this book for someone jsut starting out.

Summary: If you are a Fashion idiot...
Review: Then this is the book for you!! I hate to admit it, but I'm a thirty-two year old who knows nothing about fashion or how to put together a wardrobe. This book makes it foolproof. Now I don't feel like I need to ask my mom or a friend what to buy, or what looks good with what. I never had a need to want to look good; I worked in a factory and I'm a single mom. My idea of a fashion statement was a Jeff Gordon t-shirt with faded blue jeans and sneakers! Now I feel like I have all the tools I need to look good. I also subscribe to Lucky magazine and Allure magazine, which I feel is helpful too.
