Summary: Too broad for one book
Review: I would be interested in reading a book by Laura Ingraham on almost any of the subjects she covers in her book. By putting them all in one book, however, I think she ends up only scratching the surface on a wide range of subjects.

Moreover, she tries to tie the subjects all together under the theme of elitism. In some cases, it works, like when she discusses how liberals try to push everything through judiciary because they can't win in the democratically (small "d") driven legislature.

At other times, she is less convincing, like when she labels libertarians who favor relaxing immigration laws as elitists, when most libertarians would argue for this precisely because they do not favor heavy government intervention as elitists do. It seems equally elitist to favor anti-immigration laws for the purposes of protecting American jobs and pay, as if by virtue of being born here we should be entitled to specific jobs that others are willing to do for less money. (Still, I would concede that immigration control is necessary for national-security purposes.)

Thomas Sowell covered the subject of liberal elitism in his book "The Vision of the Anointed," but he made a much stronger case. I suspect it's because he began with that theme in mind. I almost get the feeling that Ingraham had a list of topics she wanted to cover, and then she tried to find a way to tie them all together. Sowell, on the other hand, seemed to look for examples that supported his theme especially well.

I thought Ingraham's chapter on the U.N. was especially well written, and especially disturbing. I would love to see her write a single book on that subject.

As a fan of Laura Ingraham's radio show, I considered her book to be a decent read, but not especially compelling.

Summary: Shrill, Tyrannical and Uninformed
Review: This book is little more than a poorly written (or ghosted) tirade that hurls page-after-page of bile at those with whom Ingraham disagrees. Although she tries hard to wrap herself in the flag, her "patriotism" simply serves as a fig leaf for a fascistic program. The list of good people and worthwhile causes that she hates is long indeed.

Summary: Great read!
Review: Whatever you do, ignore the liberal basher reviews of this book. Laura, like her show, is fiesty when addressing the issues. Laura details how the resurgence of classic liberalism absolutely does not appeal to "real Americans". Honestly, how many of the Hollywood elite really represent your values? Very few even vaguely represent mine.

The best analogy I have is when you're hungry you want something that will satisfy. You have the choice between a hot dog or a ribeye steak to satisfy your craving. Naturally, the steak is going to be the most fulfilling. Laura is the "steak" amongst the liberal hot dogs of the world.

Summary: Look to theyself
Review: I find it very strange that Ms. Ingraham assails people for voicing political opinions when she herself has no practical political expereince. She began her career on Rush which, contrary to his own opinion, is just a radio show. Although I am sure that she is very well informed about the events of the time her law degree gives her no more credibility than many of the people she rails against. Ms. Ingraham, one of the beautiful things about this great nation of ours is that noone has the right to tell anyone to just Shut Up. We all have a right to voice our opinions as loud and as long as our bankbooks will allow.

Review: the best book I read in my life. gonna buy it for all my friends, wish lara would run fur prezident. she's so perdy, wish they wud kut down every tree so every redneck couuld get a copy

Summary: Painfully bad
Review: Ingraham rants incoherently throughout the book against anybody who disagrees with her. A typical example of intolerance and bigotry wrapped up in book format. Any hard core conservative with a brain would be ashamed to be thrown in the same category with Ingraham. Anybody else can just laugh.

Summary: Please bring the cheese . . .
Review: So if someone doesn't agree with Ms. Ingraham, they're an elite? Watch out America, you could be the next "elite"!

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Another Long Whine of Hatred and Self-Serving Cynicism
Review: This "book" is as poorly researched and expressed as the opinions of its writer. It is as obvious a money-grubbing try for the sucker Conservative Dollar as any book from the likes of Ann Coulter and O'Reilly, without the writing talent.

It just comes across as a long WHIIIINNNNEE, with the "Elites" (we never find out why Springsteen is an elite, but Toby Keith isn't, why Michael Moore is an elite, but a millionaire like Hannity isn't) branded and horsewhipped for page after page until you want to tell Ingraham put a sock in it, like telling a teenager "No, You Can't Have the Car Keys!!" for the seventeen hundredth time!!

Somebody should also tell her to take a writing class or two, but she'll probably tell that person no need for any writing classes when your opinions are so valuable.

Laura, just Shut Up. Never mind singing.

Summary: A long but well worth it read!!
Review: I just finished her book. As Bill O'Reilly said it was long, but one of the best I have ever had. It captures you and pulls you right along clear and concisely. Her insight and delivery made so much sense. I learned a lot reading Shut up and Sing. But who am I to give feedback ...Just a fan and I wanted to say that Bill O'Reilly did not do it justice in his interview as her book has great points and is a must read. Please get the word out because it is better than Ann's "Treason", Dick Morris's "Off with their heads" and Bill latest, Who's Looking out for you", which are all good but so far I rank Laura's the best one to date that I have read.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent look at tired, old, and wrong liberal canards
Review: Laura Ingraham has done a good job of concisely outlining what is wrong with liberal businessmen who use capitalism to enrich themselves and hurt workers and small investors; how the UN is a patsy for terrorists, and how Hollywood makes money off the very people they despise: regular Americans, etc. She's not as funny as Ann Coulter, but she writes intelligently and supplies plenty of citations in case anyone doubts what she is saying.
