Rating: Summary: Best record of modern day persecution ever compiled Review: From the instant I opened the front cover my breath was taken away by the precise and thorough research put into this book. Limbaugh has assembled one of the best books of our time. Being a minister I was both outraged (because of the hypocrisy of the liberal agenda) and comforted (because there are obviously many people as concerned about this hypocrisy as I am). I am one Christian who has never been afraid to stand up for what is right, but now, more than ever, there is a fire inside of me that wants to make sure that my liberties are never put into any more jepordy than they already are. This is a must read for everyone concerned with the moral decline of our nation. A+ work Limbaugh and thank you for this most needed warning.
Rating: Summary: Please Read Up On This Subject! Review: Thomas Jefferson and James Madison pointed out that our legal system is not based on Christianity but on English common law initiated centuries before Christ. We need more education in this country! Every high school should require a class in Comparative Religion. I've been reading letters written by America's founding fathers in which they clearly state their intentions. Historians and anthropologists say that the story of Christ is based mainly on the stories of Krishna and Attis. Here are some books which are far more informative and realistic than Limbaugh's book:PLEASE READ: The Book Your Church Doesn't Want You To Read, by Leedom Losing Faith in Faith, by Barker The Christ Conspiracy Why the Religious Right is Wrong about the Separation of Church and State, by Robert Boston
Rating: Summary: Every Christian needs a copy of this book... Rating: Summary: The Accuse Accusing The Accusers & Helping No One! Review: The book is interesting and thought provoking making any intellectuals or common man to think about what is written within its pages. The writer points out that people often need to dream or love an idea and that is a belief in a God. But now religious tolerance is being turned into religious intolerance according to Mr. Limbaugh. We all have known for years the pains of hypocrisy we see in every religion. The human flaws of religious interpretations unintentionally and intentionally misusing golden rules that no one can prove came from God is never a good outcome. But neither is misinterpreting a constitutional document. Good Words on the most part from good books created to help men and women to find guidance in times of confusion. But today some want these words silence according to the writer. The book seems to forget the problems of assimilation of religious civilizations since the dawn of man. Religion has always been a unifying force for societies to become one in behavior and thoughts working together to foster its creed among all men and women, whether by invitation or unwelcomingly fought to the death. Often this caused a clash of creeds until many died deciding which God would rule and it still goes on in this day of globalization. Goddesses gave way to Iraq/Iranian/Egyptian religious practices that gave to Greek Gods who gave way to Roman Gods who gave way to Jehovah whose roots begat Christianity whose message became part of Islam. And all fractured into various sects as men disagreeing and interpreting what they feel God's rules for man were suppose to be at various times in history. Same thing happen all over the world from India to New Guinea to China to Tibet to Hawaii! A perfect societal circular conquests all looking for the higher ground of heaven window shopping but often confusing the people who looked too high up and too far away for something more perfect to make a better world. Now the Christians are being persecuted for practicing what they believe is their idea of God as we all stand by and watch. The author is now saying, the pagans are striking back and those who have been victims of religion want religion to become a victim of its own erasure of civilizations. After all and in reality, no god ever gave any man the power to condemn another man or woman to hell. Yet, history shows religions sometimes destroy what it wants to save and nothing is left but great emptiness. The author point toward how the secular media loves to mix nouns and verbs against each other to cause headline explosions. But forget these blow-ups affect people's lives and personal values for profit. Many in big media call Christianity big business but so is big media? The author forgets some religions instead of giving hope often steal hope away from the very people it attempts to save. Many religions have their rudiments base on the fundamentals of ignorance, bigotry, and hate that need to be removed from all societies. Yet, if we just remove religion from society does this mean our problems will be solved? My problem is the Atheist Godless Societies Of Communism had over 80 years to guide youth into scientific thoughts and deeds under governmental force and control with little room for any religion. They had their time for a great experiment and did remove religion, family, and property from their own societies. Yet, not one of them produced a superior scientific society in political, social, or economic outcome. The removal of religion did nothing to advance their society. And some want America to follow that folly? On the contrary, history shows that the communist's governments taught people to read but prevented them reading anything, taught them to learn foreign languages but prevented travel, taught them to learn advance science but won't let them think on their own to create things for themselves. In the end, their Godless Society failed so why follow their ways in our own today by eliminating religion everywhere. The Soviet Union, its European satellites, and Red China, all have failed to produce a better life for their people and they had to change themselves to help themselves. Furthermore, we now see North Korea, Cuba, and Vietnam still struggle to just feed their people let alone permit them to prosper or think on new ideas. I don't mind others not believing in God anymore, but I do mind them thinking Castro or North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il could be worship as a God! So no matter what we dream about a classless society free from religious fables and worship, these Godless Societies have proven inferior not superior. They are like ghosts smirking at everything and anything that other people dream about, need, or struggle to obtain. People everywhere seek a perfect life then they have now. Religion does help some to gain it, inspire some to help others and many are helped by religious organizations more than governments without higher taxes. This book makes all of us question what we ask of ourselves in private and within our hearts. Yet, it is easy for anyone to turn our own questions to look like misguided answers if put into the public preview. Consequently, I could not agree with everything in the book, but did come away agreeing with the author that Christianity is under persecution by a group who can work with religious people to make a better world. The current attacks on all religions are a great waste of time, and are in error if we think government programs will be better replacements. In the end, no code of human behavior will be obeyed by government mandates and we need the mutuality of understanding to admire anyone seeking to help everyone whether their ideas come from God or Man.
Rating: Summary: Mandatory reading Review: An amazing book! Provocative in every since of the word. Mandatory reading for any one interested in the future of our country. It will inspire you to get off the sidelines and into the battle for the moral sole of our nation. If you could only read one book this year, Persecution is the one.
Rating: Summary: It's about time! Review: Great book. I send my sons to a private Christian school because I don't want them to attend a government-run, liberal training camp--aka public school. I'm glad that Limbaugh has brought this issue to the front--but a lot of it is pretty obvious to us already!
Rating: Summary: Decadent liberal secularism exposed Review: As the liberal secularist agenda continues to relentlessly pervade and corrode our Judeo-Christian society, anyone who dares to speak in favor of Christianity such as David Limbaugh is unjustly pilloried with a veritable fusillade of bellicose and hateful liberal invective. Don't dare to say homosexuality is sinful, because not only is it not politically correct; moreover, you'll be called a bigot homophobe. Oh, and don't even think about wearing a cross on your necklace. That would violate the dubious Establishment Clause, which purportedly advocates for a separation of church and state. Limbaugh expertly chronicles anecdotal refutations of amoral sophist liberal dogma. By and large, Persecution is a well-written treatise that will grate at the nerves of morally depraved liberals everywhere as it cogently debunks liberal moral relativism, humanism, and insidious secularism in a most adroit and compelling fashion. As Sean Hannity duly stated on his radio show, "This is a book that needed to be written."
Rating: Summary: Please Read the Entire first Amendment... Review: ...and pay close attention to the part of the clause that says CONGRESS (not judges, not presidents, not the ACLU) shall not prohibit the free exercise of religion. But the left sure is trying too. See, liberals tramp out the "seperation of church and state" (words that appear NO WHERE within the Constitution I might add) argument as nothing more than a thinly veiled attempt to squash fundamental religious belief that does not align with their own "religious" leftist ideology. Higly recommended for those trying to understand the attempt to subvert Christianity by the left.
Rating: Summary: A Clarification Review: I have already written a review of this book, a must read for all Christians. This is more a commentary: No, no one has come after us with pitchforks and torches. Is this the only form of persecution? No. When a case comes before the ACLU concerning the rights of moslems, buddists, atheists...etc.,..you will find this organization leading the battle cry. When have you EVER seen the ACLU uphold the rights of a Christian?? In our small community, the MAJORITY of our citizens want the Ten Commandments displayed at our courthouse. However, it was a MINORITY of malcontents who got the ACLU involved AGAINST the Christian MAJORITY. The US Constitution does NOT contain the words "separation of church and state" and I challenge anyone to produce evidence that it does. And yet, these words have been used so much that many people are convinced that the constitution says just that. It is subtle, yet it is prevasive and yes, it is persecution. Christianity is the only religion that you can ridicule, put-down and blast without fear of reprisal in the public forum. Thanks again David, you are right on the money.
Rating: Summary: It's about time Review: It's about time that someone addressed this issue. We have seen the left's continued assault on Christianity. Mel Gibson's Passion is a classic example, depict Christ's last 12 hours according to the Bible and it's attacked. I recommend this book, and if you're a Christian it a wake up call.
