Summary: A short review to be read by all without wasting your time..
Review: This book is untrue.
Common Americans do not seem to understand, or want to undertand, the principle, perfected many centuries ago by the Romans; To solidify your power, create so-called "enemies". and then build up your armies to protect you from "them".

Summary: now I know why they didn't want an investigation
Review: This book is chocked full of verifiable information. Information that I wish I could refute, but alas, I am afraid it is full of truths. The author puts the facts that he has uncovered in front of us and lets us draw our own conclusions-conclusions that are hard to swallow but are pretty obvious. Members of our own government were involved in 9/11. He has so many sources that we can use to check these facts out ourselves.

He gives us background on Afghanistan, how it has been abused and manipulated by our country and others and why. It made me want to cry when I read it. Background on the Saudis and more...

The most damning of all, was, when, for some reason, standard operating procedures for our Air Force is to immediately check out any flight deviations of commercial planes and others, but they were evidently told to stand down. (We know they do this because this is what happened when a famous golfer's plane went off course and they had planes up in the air in minutes and guided it until it ran out of fuel and crashed in the Dakotas and also, when just the other day, a small plane came close to Washington, D.C. and they had the planes up immediately and it was escorted to an airport) Why would they, when there were several warnings, have them stand down, and then when they did send in jets, why from Florida and not the air base ten miles from them? And why did pentagon officials cancel their flights for that day? Read the book to get a comprehensive look at what happened because this is about as good a book as you will find.

It is a sad day in this country when we find that we cannot trust our government.

Summary: Yes but...
Review: By far the most complete analysis of the terrorist attacks of September 11th.

A clear, concise presentation of the facts leading up to, and surrounding the event. Well supported by numerous sources, and thoroughly researched. Proves the complicity of the Bush administration's facilitation of the attack.

And guess what?

Nothing will ever be done about it. Nothing.

George Bush and his Administration have won. He and all his greedy and corrupt conspirators will live long, happy, wealthy lives. American history books will portray them as patriots and heros. Many will have streets, libraries or airports named after them.

Whatever graft they reap from their heinous schemes will provide for them, and their families for generations to come.

Unfortunately the majority of Americans believe that their president is actually for God and country. Perhaps then the American public deserves its fate.

Summary: Hold our administration accountable.
Review: This book should be read by everyone who was personally touched by 9/11. Observe the subsequent events and government actions since that day. Draw your own conclusion. Demand that this administration come forward with all pertinent information.

Summary: HANDS DOWN ,THE BEST BOOK ON 9/11
Review: Jam packed with information regarding the so called war on Terrorism. Ahmed begins by tracing the origins of what happened on 9/11 to just prior to the Soviet Invasion of Afganistan and takes us up to them months prior to 9/11,including the so-called intelligence breakdown that occurred. Ahmed also examines the including the FAA and NORAD's abandoning of SOP's that apparently occured the morning of 9/11, and the subsequent changing of stories by the government. The only drawback is that the author's writing style is very dry which makes for a tough read. I'm just waiting for the label of "nutjob" and "conspiracy theorist" to be attached to Ahmeds name by those suffering from the "I don't wanna hear it" and "the government is not corrupt" syndrome.

Summary: This book is the worst I have ever read...
Review: Delusionial conspiracy theories are a dime a dozen. This one tops the list. Use your money for something more interesting and truthful, like the National Equirer.

Summary: truth ..........period !!!!
Review: Let us first refute any political accusations of bias.Whether republican,democrat,right-wing,left-wing,conservative,liberal,or any other political stereo-type one may wish to proclaim-this ideology must be discounted to objectively and honestly understand the dynamics of the current world we live. This valuable piece of literature also should not be viewed(as so commonly is)as an indictment of race, creed or ethnicity. It is however,a condemnation of governmental power and deep-rooted elitist ideology of those who continue to lead america and the world down an all to prophetic course. Having read perhaps 50+ books on Middle East history and culture,as well as numerous literature regarding U.S. involvement in that dynamic region, this may be the most well researched analysis to date. For those who are not too familiar with Middle East-U.S relations,it would be beneficial to read some other material pertaining to the region as well. This book will educate most people about 9-11,but the problems and injustices which have manifested U.S. foreign policy are so entrenched in government philosophy that the atrocities enacted upon the U.S. should not be considered so astonishing. This body of work is all too logical when fundemental elitist ideology is understood.Certainly,so-called religious aspirations have always been one ploy many propagandists have used to incite hatred and violence, but this irrational mind-set should be minimized to understand the ramifications of U.S. conduct. Please read this book through it's entirety and you will be truly educated.

Summary: Most Important Book
Review: After reading The War on Freedom, I was convinced that this would be the book that would answer American's questions about the truth of September 11, 2001. Ahmed has quickly written a scholarly account of the events and done so in a very accessible format. The book is exceptionally well footnoted and I was amazed to learn that so much damning evidence was given to the mainstream news sources and published within the first few days after the attack. Given the footnotes, anyone can go to the record and read those accounts and then compare them with the government "whitewash" that soon became accepted fact to most Americans. If you only read the chapter on "The Collapse of Standard Operating Procedure on 9-11-2001" you would receive more value than the price of the book. Don't wait any longer while the politicians and big business interests pretend to conduct independent investigations, just buy this book and know the obvious truth. Soon you'll be shocking all your friends.

Summary: A book title which is most apt
Review: If you are a foaming-at-the-mouth Bush hater, this is the book for you. It has enough red meat to keep you going for months. There is nothing in here which an objective observer of events as they occured could possibly agree with. If you want a book title that fully describes the contents, you need not even open the cover. This is a classic example of why political discourse in this country has become so raw. "Facts" which are substantiated by numerous references to nothing but rumor, repeated ad nauseum until it can only be called a polemic which declares war on freedom. I had thought that Oliver Stone's conspiracy theories were the ultimate in nonsense until I read this book. I must confess that I cheated and only read two thirds of it since the book could easily be condensed to thirty pages if the repetition were taken out.
What a waste of paper.

Summary: The Evidence Speaks for Itself
Review: I am a PhD scientist with over a dozen articles published in peer-reviewed journals. In science, unlike politics, the gold standard for ideas is whether they are supported by evidence--regardless of whether they are palatable or whether they support preconceived notions of an ideal world. In The War On Freedom, Nafeez Ahmed has summoned a wide and authoritative body of evidence that explicitly implicates factions within the U.S. government in actively facilitating the terrorist attacks of 9/11. Obviously this is not a heartening inference to draw, but unfortunately it appears to best explain the evidence presented by Ahmed.

An appropriate rebuttal to Ahmed's case would either (a) demonstrate that the information he presents to bolster his main inference of U.S. complicity is factually invalid or (b) reinterpret his evidence in some compelling fashion that is inconsistent with active U.S. government complicity. None of the unfavorable reviews on Amazon.com attempts either of these approaches. Instead, they seem to rely on the political tactic of shooting the messenger.

The First Interim Report of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States was released on July 8 2003. This is a bipartisan comission intended to investigate the reasons why the terrorist attacks occurred. This provides a golden opportunity for the Bush administration to exonerate itself from the case made by Ahmed, but instead the opposite seems underway. The committee reports that they "disagree with the Administration's general insistence on having agency representatives present during interviews of serving officials." If there were nothing to hide, then why are fact-finding interviews being conducted in the presence of what, in Iraq, would be called "minders" at the Bush administration's insistence?

The committee further states: "The problems that have arisen so far with the Department of Defense are becoming particularly serious. We have not received responses to requests relating to NORAD and other DOD components." Thus, the defense department is not exactly falling over itself to clear the charges that "stand down" orders subverted standard operating procedures and grounded military aircraft while the hijackings unfolded.

An unbiased view of the evidence presented in this book leads to the inference that the Bush administration, and possibly components of previous administrations, facilitated the attacks of 9/11. The results are not all in, but it appears to date that the only rebuttals to Ahmed's case consist of personal smears, unfounded conspiracy charges, and an administration that is stonewalling efforts to elucidate matters.

Disturbing indeed. Every citizen who cares about the course of this country and who has the courage to fight for American ideals of democracy and representative government should read this book, and demand answers.
