Summary: Blaming the Victim
Review: Politically correct nonsense, unabashedly blaming the victim. To really understand the world and 9-11, you must read Victor Davis Hanson's "An Autumn of War." Buy this book and the much smaller and much more profound Hanson book--read them both from cover to cover and decide for yourself.

Summary: DON'T HINDE BEHIND SYMBOLS, PEOPLE!
Review: This book proves that the more things change, the more they stay the same. The most scariest conclusion which I walked away with after reading this text, is that America is becoming the same imperialist monster which it freed itself from over 200 years ago. By placing it's citizens and other people in danger deliberately in order to pursue shallow and materialistic interests, this government is committing the biggest war crime in history. It has betrayed it's people to the enemy before, during and after the 9/11 attacks.
I liked this book very much. It is easy to follow, and I could not put it down. The author has stressed that his book is not the last and definitive word on the subject of who bears responsibility for the attacks, but nevertheless, the facts contained in this book must be seriously considered.
If you are tired of the constant barrage of propaganda, disinformation and slant regarding 9/11, courtesy of the U.S. government and the mass media, this book is a breath of fresh air. It will undoubtedly enlighten anyone who reads it, and will have you demanding answers from our "leaders."
My parents grew up behind the "Iron Curtain" and know all about government propaganda, war-mongering, and about what happens to people who openly disagree with the party line. That's why they are shocked that these same methods are starting to come into play here, in the United States. But what's worse, is that back there most people didn't listen to that garbage, but here in the U.S. most people do.

We must all remember two things:

1.) Truth is always the first casualty of war

2.) No country can preserve it's freedom in the midst of continual warfare.

We cannot hide behind blind patriotism when faced with facts, because then we are only denying that a problem exists. The American people must hear all facts of 9/11 from both sides and then make a decision on what should be done. This also is needed when it comes to the current situation with Iraq, and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict.
I highly recommend this book, and praise it's author for a good, and much needed informative work.

Summary: This is what's going on folks
Review: The people who give this book one star are either government agents or truly brainwashed. Yes, the book can be somewhat difficult to read and is repetitive. But this is done to back up facts with source after source. However, reading the final conclusion pretty much sums everything up in the neat form most Americans should be able to comprehend.

Even without this book anyone with common sense should see from just the mainstream news that this "war on terror" is completely fabricated. Bush, Cheaney & Company are the epitomy of EVIL and this book calls them out. People our president murdered 3,000 fellow citizens, plus numerous Afghans and is distracting you with bin Laden & Hussein. What does this say about us as we sit idly by and allow Bush to destroy this country along with untold others. Buy 3 of these books and mail them to your 3 federal representatives (1 congressman, 2 senators) and let them know you know what is going on. It is money well-spent.

Summary: A Powerful Thesis, with Strong Support
Review: The thesis is that our federal government was "complict" in the attack of 9/11: it was frequently warned, but by near "criminal" inaction that morning, did nothing to prevent it. Supposedly, Bin Laden was on our most wanted list long before 9/11, but we turned down chances to take him into custody, and whenever the poor FBI agents got close to his network, they were pulled back. (Rather than being inept, they look very efficient here, while the CIA undercuts them.) Bin Laden's ties with the elite in Saudi Arabia are still strong; we will not shut down their support for his terrorist organization because of our nation's oil dependency and the Bush family and some cabinet officers' commercial links. The CIA channeled $100,000 to Bin Laden through the Pakistani intelligence organization a few months before 9/11, and then forced the head of the agency to "retire" so as to forestall an investigation. We planned to invade Afghanistan in October, 2001, and the 9/11 attack gave us the excuse, which is why we let it happen. Control of a pipeline from the Caspian oil fields to Pakistan and the ocean was the proximate end; regional dominance the ultimate one.
If you are incredulous about these assertions, please read the book. They are not "proved," and there are problems with the logic, but there is a great deal of unsettling data supporting the thesis that I was not aware of. The book is meticulously researched, with 599 footnotes, though there is no openness to disconfirming evidence, and unfortunately few alternative interpretations are entertained. The reviewer who said he blames it all on "the Jews" is wrong about Ahmed; Israel has a low profile in his account. But Israel is the monster in the overwrought chapter "Backword" that ends the book, and distracts from the books relatively measured tone. Written by John Leonard, of The Nation, this addition is an example of conspiracy theory at its worse, even for this anti-Sharon reader.

Summary: Can the world afford continued ignorance?
Review: First I must say, this is not the easiest read. There is an immense background needed to understand the flow of events. I had doubts about the official explaination of this tradgedy right from day one. I may now not know the whole truth, but I am much closer than I would otherwise be. This is not a conspiracy paper, but a revelation of how our government does or does not work, and how some may profit from either scenario. Sadly, it is extensively cited, and a mainstream presentation of facts, and not just the screech of a conspiracy freak. And the facts tell a horrific story of what we (our leaders) have become.
The author offers some observations, but in understanding the facts, I am hard-pressed to find another point of view from his.
As awful as that day in our history was, I wonder what our future holds, as we march down the same trecherous road that led to these events on that September day.
Please read this book. Disagree if you will, but at least understand what it says.

Summary: Breaking over three thousand eggs to make an omelet
Review: In this painstakingly researched and superbly documented analysis, twenty-three year old British researcher, Nafeez Mosaddeq Ahmed demonstrates how the United States government willingly sacrificed the lives of more than three thousand of its citizens in order to achieve its long term foreign policy goals. Using publicly available documents, including newspaper articles, interviews, individual testimonies, congressional documents, and published government regulations, Ahmed makes a compelling case that key members of the Bush administration including the President, the Vice President, the then acting Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staffs and others are guilty of either homicidal negligence, complicity to murder American civilians, or a combination of both.

"The War on Freedom" is not a polemic and very little of it is theoretical. Instead, Ahmed accomplishes what the media has consistently failed to do, he examines publicly available material and shows how it collectively identifies areas where official government explanations contradict each other or simply lie. Given the difficulty of this subject matter and immense volume of source material (practically every sentence is cited, and sources number in the hundreds), the tone of this book is remarkably professional and reads like a coolly assembled scientific report. Be warned, however, that no matter what your political leanings, the evidence in this book will depress you. Some of Ahmed's arguments are as follows:

OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM WAS PLANNED YEARS AGO
Citing multiple documents including a congressional hearing in which leading oil executives urged members of congress to "stabilize" Afghanistan so that they could construct an oil pipeline from former Soviet republics in the Caucuses to the Caspian Sea, Ahmed demonstrates that the U.S. planned to occupy Afghanistan for years and that the invasion was to take place sometime in the fall of 2001.

THE US PROPPED UP THE TALIBAN

Again citing congressional documents, Ahmed demonstrates that the Taliban domination of Afghanistan was the direct result of American arms and logistical support. He further demonstrates that the U.S. hoped the harshly repressive Taliban would "stabilize" Afghanistan and did not count on them turning against the U.S. for ideological reasons.

BIN LADEN'S FAMILY OWNED 5% OF BUSH'S FIRST OIL COMPANY
An individual named Bath invested the money of his Saudi friends/clients, including the brother of one of Usama Bin Laden's wives, in George W. Bush's first oil company, Arbusto. In fact, Bush Jr. and Bush Sr. have had considerable dealings with the Bin Laden family that they have gone to great lengths to conceal.

FOREIGN INTELLIGENCE WAS IGNORED
Intelligence agencies from France, Russian, Britain, Israel, Jordan, Egypt, and others strenuously warned the Bush administration of the September 11th plot in detail. The Bush administration did not act on this information.

DOMESTIC INTELLIGENCE WAS THWARTED AND SURPRESSED
Prior to September 11th, dedicated FBI and CIA agents had not only uncovered the details of the September 11th plot but also had desperately attempted to get their superiors to act on this information. These agents were reigned in by their superiors, and in some cases they were threatened with retaliation if they went public or testified to congress about this information. After September 11th, intelligence agents were not allowed to pursue leads in Saudi Arabia or Pakistan, even though the majority of clues pointed to those locations. Instead, their superiors (mostly Bush administration appointees) ordered them to focus on Germany.

THE AMERICAN SUPPORTED ISI GAVE MONEY TO MOHAMED ATTA
A leader of the American supported Pakistani Inter Services Intelligence Agency (ISI) personally ordered a subordinate to wire money to Mohamed Atta. He was subsequently forced into early retirement but never investigated.

THE TERRORISTS TRAINED ON AMERICAN AIRFORCE BASES
Records indicate that several of the September 11th terrorists trained in U.S. Air Force bases as part of a longstanding program to train Saudi pilots. The Air force explained this by saying that the records merely revealed individuals with the same names as the terrorists trained received Air Force training. When pressed to verify this fact by producing even one of these individuals for an interview, the Air Force refused.

THE U.S. REFUSED BIN LADEN EXTRADITION OFFERS
Both before and after September 11th, the U.S. refused offers, first from the Sudan and then from Bin Laden himself in Afghanistan, for Bin Laden's extradition.

STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES WERE NOT FOLLOWED ON 9/11
The most powerful 9/11 myth to date is that the Air Force cannot intercept stray aircraft without presidential authorization. The Air Force cannot shoot down stray aircraft without presidential authorization, but they routinely intercept stray aircraft as a matter of published standard operating procedures that are documented on military Web sites and which this reviewer has read. Several sources indicate that 9/11 was not new in the sense that aircraft frequently go off course or lose radio contact with ground control and the Air Force intercepts them as a matter of routine. In the case of golf professional, Payne Stewart's aircraft, for example, it was immediately tracked, and intercepted within minutes of going off course. Astoundingly, Air Force planes were not launched until after three of the four hijacked aircraft had hit their targets and instead were grounded in an unprecedented manner.

THE PRESIDENT'S PERSONAL EXPLANATION IS HIGHLY CONTRADICTORY
President Bush frequently changed his explanation of what he knew and when he knew it. Ahmed's sources indicate that prior to aircraft striking the first World Trade Center tower, the president had been informed that an aircraft had been hijacked and diverted toward New York City.

THE PRESIDENT AND OTHER'S RESPONSE WAS INEXPLICABLY SLOW
Astoundingly, by his own admission, after the president learned that an aircraft had struck the first World Trade Center tower, he continued reading to school children in Florida. Similarly, the Vice President simply continued his meeting with Senator Max Cleeland, and the Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff and his immediate Air Force subordinate did nothing. By their own published admissions, in the face of an unprecedented national emergency, the leaders who were most empowered to act simply stuck to their planned routines for that day.

Summary: ... a truly meaningful gift
Review: ... The War on Freedom
Forget what you think you know about Al Qaeda, the Taliban, Osama or even the United States --because you don't really know anything at all. So as Bush's cohorts sign off on Homeland Security drafts, I offer The War on Freedom: How and Why America Was Attacked, September 11, 2001 as a truly meaningful gift for the holiday season. But be forewarned: Until you finish this book, you may suffer from some restless nights, probably caused by an ever-growing guilty conscience. The self- reproach comes courtesy of author Nafeez Mosaddeq Ahmed's research, which unveils America's real agenda when we aided the Taliban against Russia, when we originally supported the idea of Al Qaeda and when we played dumb after being attacked. While the highly acclaimed human rights activist doesn't excuse the atrocity, his excerpts from worldwide media dispatches and policy-maker comments issued years before the attacks are undeniable evidence that Sept. 11 should not have happened, could have been prevented and was a long time coming. Sleep tight. (Gian Sachdev) ...

Summary: Amazing piece of work
Review: I am an average American, but I am also an average American who reads a lot more than average. Much of what I have read over the past year is all in this book. The facts are the facts. People can no longer ignore the fact that governments for millenium have created their own enemies through foreign policy to create WAR! for the plutocrats to get even richer at the expense of the sheeple.

Now, just read all the reviews of this fine book and you can spot the government shills who rate this book 1 star. They don't want people to read it folks because they are geting scared that us netizens and the rest of the planet are figuring out their New World Order agenda.

Summary: Book Disgraces Muslims...
Review: Anyone writing a book like this must have poor self image. The author does little to portray the facts. Looking for simple paper clippings and articles taken out of context and inaccurate become confusing. It was not possible to finish reading this propaganda. Why not celebrate your life and heritage be proud of who you are and respect others as your brother.

Summary: Be Forewarned!!
Review: This book may appear to be a legitimate piece of journalism, especially with the rave reviews. But be forewarned that it is really a loopy, crackpot polemic that blames America and the Jews for September 11th. Do not buy it and do it read it.
