Summary: that's what i said!
Review: This book does very well to describe the things i have been telling the people around my area for a few years now. At the age of seventeen, (thus with not much time yet in my life to have comprehended what really happens in this country), i have come to realize the true state of our country thanks the abuse of tolerance. Michael Savage is quite brutal in most of his statements, but that's not always a terribly bad thing. You need to be a bit blunt in order to get your point across to a people who lend a willing ear to gays, illegal immigrants, and the general brainwashing that occurs these days, yet close their minds off from all opinions not their own. Yes i understand that this does not mean all liberals are closed minded, but in this book Savage adresses both parties, not just the people who are willing to accept his views with open arms. Michael Savage has provided material that is quite offensive to most people, but is most definately the truth.

Summary: Lazy Minds Only
Review: The price of freedom is eternal vigilance. We sacrifice freedom for entertainment when we let a circus clown tell us what's going on in the world and, even worse, what to think about it. He's a radio talk show host. It is the epitome of intellectual sloth to let a radio talk show host be your source of information about the landscape of American politics and culture. More people these days seem interested in spite than information. More people need to be titilated than educated. Hence, the rise of the talk show host as an authority on politics. It is a sad situation. Inform yourself from more worthy sources than this, and then make up your own mind.

Summary: Hate book of the Century
Review: This book is a perfect example of how cold-hearted and crass the conservatives can be.Just reading the first ten pages of Mr. Savage rambling about how disturb the liberals or anyone who's not a 100% hard core conservative. Any intellctual would use this book for toilet paper and replace it with a polemist author like Al Franklin

Summary: Attention Conservatives: Pure uncut propaganda.
Review: I've personally never heard Savage's radio show, as this book was literally dumped into my lap by a good friend. After reading it through, I've formulated a few opinions about Savage and his book.

1. If Archie Bunker were a very eloquent writer, this is exactly the book he would churn out. Savage relates a few anecdotes with violent opinions and intentions, all the while contradicting himself several times in his ideologies. (He claims that "Demoncats" are attempting to homogenize and enslave Americans, while titling the second chapter of the book "Diversity is Perversity") He incessantly attacks immigration despite professing not be be an "immigrant basher"in the second sentence of the book.

2. Rather than citing sources, Savage decides that you ought to trust him. He even goes as far as to use cute, but not very clever nicknames for various people and organizations: Jesse Hijackson, the Demoncats, Commu-Nazis, MSNBC (which he follows with a cute footnote expounding on the acronym: "More Snotty Nonsense By Creeps") et cetera et cetera.

3. Savage seems to really like the literary style known as "stream of consciousness", and I suspect every section of this book was written at a different place and time. He resolves a point with information inapplicable and incongruous to the original statement, as well as simply making broad, obviously flawed statements. While it may be his style to use hyperbole and satire to make his points, a logical result seems to be lost in the leap from reality to print.
"It's immoral to drug young boys with Ritalin and Prozac only because they suffer from masculinity." (pg 93.) Whaaaat?

If you're new to politics and want a firm hold in logic, look elsewhere. If you're interested in bloating your political-conservative ego, or if you're interested in inflaming the liberal inside of you, this is the book to read.

In short, Savage comes off as a wonderful orator, but nothing substantial to talk about. He calls the opposition names, seems to be violently opposed to anything deemed unacceptable in his 1950's view of morality and patriotism, and has it stuck in his mind that America is the world's most wonderful creation in the history of humanity (he claims that the Middle East hasn't been of value to the world in 1000 years). He wishes the United States would revert to its former state of ignorance and intolerance, while blaming every single problem with America on a political slant.

I am a liberal, as you may have noticed or inferred, but I *have* read this book. It made me furious at times (especially with the recommender piping over my shoulder "see?"), but I drudged through it.

Summary: America vs. The New Whoreled Order.
Review: Savage comes out with both barrels blazing and takes no prisoners as he lays into the RDDB's (Red Diaper Doper Babies) who have been stealthily working to tear down our great country over the last forty-plus years. If you are outraged that America has been overrun and held hostage to political correctness, secularism and socialistic ideals, you really need to read "The Savage Nation" and its successor "The Enemy Within." It's time to stand up and defend our borders, language and culture, and send the RDDB's (60's radicals and those who follow their wacko, extremist socialist-utopian ideals) back to Woodstock where they can all huddle around the bong, strum their acoustic guitar and belt out off-key chorus after off-key chorus of "Give Peace A Chance" or some other whiny hippie protest song.

Summary: Liberal Assualt
Review: If you know you are liberal I would not recommend this book unless you want something to disagree with. Moderates should be warned that some of his radical views may be a bit too out there.
For most conservatives and people who are concerned with the loss of morals in America I would definitely recommend this book. Although some of his claims are ridiculous, like hippies and Pot being directly responsible for the Taliban, his writing definitely provokes thought. Savage uses great stories that make for great reading. Basically the jist of this book is he gives his backgrounds, warns against the radical liberal agenda especially the ACLU. He also complains about what they have already done. He than gives his ideas for immigration, countering terrorism, abortion, etc. However his views are not moderately conservative. A good example of this is his attempt to compare Barbara Boxer with Dr. Mendela.

Review: There's really no need to align yourself with a set of morals or ideals. It's much easier to simply hate everyone.

Summary: Straw Man
Review: It is incredible that - over, and over, and over, the likes of Coulter, Hannity, Limbaugh, Savage, Ingraham on radio, books and TV make a very nice living through their blatant use of the "straw man". It's their bread and butter and accounts - easily, for 75% of the content they create, regardless of media. If you've never heard of this term, here's a nice definition I've found (emphasis, mine)...

"Straw man. Another way to stack the deck against the opposition is to draw a false picture of the opposing argument. Then it is easy to say, "This should be rejected because this (exaggerated and distorted) picture of it is wrong." The name of the fallacy comes from the idea that if you set up a straw man, he is easier to knock down than a real man. And that is exactly the way this fallacy works: set 'em up and knock 'em down. ->It is argument
by caricature. It avoids dealing with the real issues by changing the opposition's views." <-(Geisler N.L. & Brooks R.M, "Come, Let Us Reason: An Introduction to Logical Thinking," 1990, p101)

The next time you see a sentence that reads along the lines of, "Liberals think that...", written by one of these conservative infotainers, rest assured they are building their liberal straw man, soon to be easily pummeled

Use of a Straw man in an argument is dismissable on its face, as are these conservative screeds in their entirety.

Summary: Hate book of the Century
Review: This book is a perfect example of how cold-hearted and crass the conservatives can be. Just reading the first ten pages of Mr. Savage exhibiting absurdities about how disturb the liberals or anyone who's not a 100% hard core conservative is just plain comical and not to mention insanity. Worst of all, just reading between the lines of this hate-filled book seems to advocate animosity and aggressiveness toward anyone whos is none-white or is intelligent enough to refute his garbage. Any normal rational being would use this book for toilet paper. Anyone who has a affilation with the klan or some hate group would cherish this book.
