Rating: Summary: you liberals just dont wanna face the facts Review: Mr. savage wrote this book excellently in my opinion. he is a model of how all conservatives should be. I'm a conservative I strongly agree with him, the truth hurts and i'm not afraid to say that. Only intellectuals can get past the name calling to see his message the name calling serves to put them in their place. The facts he states are in fact true, if you would take the time to look them up. He did a great job on this book buy it read it understand it. Dont
Rating: Summary: In a league of his own, Thank God Review: I consider myself a conservative. I voted for Reagan, Bush, Dole and Bush. I've read and enjoyed books by Ann Coulter, David Limbaugh, Rush Limbaugh, Harry Stein and others. I assumed I would also enjoy Mike Savage Quite frankly, I was shocked by what I read. I've never seen so much name-calling and hatred in a book by a so-called conservative. Mike Savage gives conservatives an underserved bad name. Please don't judge the rest of us by this buffoon.
Rating: Summary: Unrelenting diatribe Review: Much like Michael Weiner Savage's 'The Savage Nation' - both the book and the radio show - 'The Enemy Within' is another seemingly neverending, paranoid rant about why liberals are ruining the United States of America. Much of what is contained within the book's 272 pages would be redundant to anyone that listens to Savage's three hour radio show on any given day. More often than not, Savage talks a lot while saying very little. Overall, the book is poorly written, and many of the points Savage tries to convey to his audience are ruined by his alarmingly vitriolic, bigoted, biased viewpoints. This is just another worthless opinion from a "red-diaper doper-baby."
Rating: Summary: At Least Archie Bunker had a Heart! Review: I purchased this book from Half Priced Books and all I have to say is Thank God! I didn't pay full price. This is the lowest of the lowest common denominator, this is precisely why our nation is in a downward spiral and it has nothing to do with Liberalism, it has everything to with the right to freedom of speech that these acid tongued right wing pundits exploit for financial gain. Mr. Weiner(real name, how appropriate) is an obnoxious fame hungry, heartless, shallow, angry inflamed sphincter who has nothing intellectually stimulating and or beneficial to contribute to the mental health and stability of this country, don't be fooled these people are the real traitors. What I find especially disturbing is people out there actually think this bile belching Quack speaks the Gospel. This book is for the new conservatives who have to remind themselves that they are mental Pygmies. People of a higher intellect are forwarned either read it for a laugh or steer clear.
Rating: Summary: nothing makes sense Review: As an anarchist (I am sure there are a lot of them out there) that I disagree everything this clown says. His political correctness makes me sick. WE WANT RIOT!!!!
Rating: Summary: wow, angry but right on target Review: few books that i have read will (have) generate as much controversy as this one. glad i purchased it before i read the reviews. they are clearly partisan, expectable with a work like this, i suppose. i don't listen to much radio, so i cannot comment as to the redundancy of savage's written word vis a vis his radio broadcasts. in the book, he does have the tendency to rant, but i find this in a lot of people who are passionate about their beliefs. his detractors, found within these reviews, have a problem with weiner's (savage's real name) belief system, not his literary expertise. accordingly, they attack his values and integrity mostly, not the factual basis of his commentary. one reader pointed out, as example, that his family immigrated to this country, yet he speaks out against immigration, pointing to an apparent contradiction. i find none. in the book, he clearly delineates between his view of (my language) good and bad immigrants. he describes the influx of "third worlders" as a good thing gone wild. its important to note that it is the abuse and excess that he finds problem with, not the concept of immigration in general. those that actually read the book before attacking it in this section will recall his (humorous?) re-characterization of our "melting pot" as a "chamber-pot" because of the un-bridled influx of illegal and unsavory characters from all over, including nationals from countries that harbor harmful feelings for our country. savage is, however, a walking anomaly/contradiction. we need to look no further than where he chooses to reside. a self professed conservative and apparent moralist has chosen, arguably, the most liberal birthing ground in the united states. perhaps savage is a masochist or someone who wants a steady supply of story material for his books and radio shows, either way, i'm surprised he doesn't walk down 'frisco's streets on allergic overload. all kidding aside, his daily exposure to what this american city has to offer has surely helped mold his view of our country, and continues to fuel his aggravation. anyway, getting back to the book, read it. whether you are conservative or liberal, it will put you in the "savage nation" mindset. its guaranteed to make you ornery and, more importantly, make you think about the direction america is headed. contrary to what some reviewers have stated, the type of course we are on is not inevitable. unfortunately, nor is it desirable. seeking to preserve america's culture, language and the integrity of her borders does not necessarily label one a racist. like most others (savage included), i recognize that, other than our native american friends, there is really no such thing as an "american", our nation being base-populated primarily by a european "starter kit". like savage, i do, however, see the attractiveness, and desirability, of preserving our undeniable heritage and the things that make us uniquely american. what's being sold as "multiculturism" does not necesarily lend itself to that.
Rating: Summary: Savage nation indeed Review: Conservatives don't even PRETEND to be compassionate. What you have here is Micahel Savage pandering to the lowest common denominator. Pandering to a group of people who think they own this country. A group of people who are completely oblivious to facts and revel in their utter and complete ignorance. Good thing i didnt purchase this sorry excuse for a book. It makes a great coaster.
Rating: Summary: red daiper doper babies Review: Those are the very words he uses in the book and on his radio show. I laughed every time I read that phrase, but then it got a little bit tiresome to read the phrase over and over. Savage puts it plainly. What do you want, a cookie? He says it like it is. Pulls no punches. Doesn't hold back. The ideas are great. He gets a little too radical and obnoxious in some places but makes up for it in others with his wit and humor. I like how he metaphorizes things to make it understandable for people like me who don't necessarily read a hoard of books. I prefer reading computer manuals and technical articles, but this was a good read. We need to think what we are doing to ourselve in America. I love how he talks about his mother and father. They were hard working Americans with values, good values, family values. Savage has these same values. We need these values for our society. What more can I say? We should take these things to heart. It will be our own fault if things get worse in this great country, not just our leaders. We voted them in. We should take responsibility and take a stand for ourselves, our freedoms and the rights that we take for granted. Get off our duffs and do something. This book can give us some great motivation to do that.
Rating: Summary: Savage tells it like it is! Review: Mike Savage is a great radio host and a brilliant, educated individual who speaks on behalf of America and what it stands for. In his book, he exposes what the left wingers are trying to do to America. I suggest that every American read this book to wake up and smell the coffee and realize that liberals are trying to tear this country (and what it represents) to shreds.
Rating: Summary: On Sanity Review: Whatever one may think of Michael Savage, through his fans, as we find them herein, we see evidence of the relationship between evaluating and sanity.
