Summary: Don't like? Don't buy it!
Review: The anarchist cockbook is a perfect example of why we have freedom of choice in this country. I used to consider myself of the anarchist persuasion when I was younger, much like the author's self-description above. But now I am older and more responsible, and would never consider implementing the practices of a true anarchist. However, this country was won with guerrilla warfare tactics. Many Americans take deep pride in the right to defend their life and property. I am reminded of the movie Red Dawn, as remote a scenario as that may be. I also appreciate the author's request to remove the book from print, but disagree. The fact that his personal views have changed have no impact on the raw power if this book. It is an American classic that should remain in pritn as long as there is an America. Finally, if you don't like the book, don't buy it!

Summary: Take it out of print?
Review: This is a classic work and, despite its author's requests, should be left in print. Whilst I can offer no advice on the integrity of most of the book's content, I can state that it is a very entertaining and informative read. Furthermore, I would say that other reviews of this book which dismiss it without any reason confuse me. If you like the unusual and the exciting then this book is definitely for you.

Summary: A fun read
Review: I have been familiar with this book for quite awhile now. I don't really see this information as harmful per se given that if someone is really out to do some damage they can find a way. I would see society better off if rather than trying to censor and control information we would live by the golden rule and treat others fairly. Along with proper treatment for those with violent mental disorders, we can significantly reduce the incidents of people acting out. I see this book nowadays as an interesting view of the '60s culture and don't feel the author should regret the publication at all.

Summary: Yes and No
Review: This book is a must have for any collection of books on touchy subjects. It is though very dated, poorly written and laughably illustrated. If you are looking for usefull information I would recomend The Poor Man's James Bond. Again this is a must have book but it earns that rank by nature of its place in history not its usefullness.

Summary: Had to See What the Fuss was About!
Review: I also found that a lot of the content of this book was basic
knowledge as taught in Military Handbooks!
Don't blame the book or author for someone using basic
stuff that's been taught to GOD only knows how many people
that our government trusted the knowledge with.
I use to dislike Big Brother. But, I found we all need him to watch over our freedom. I was bitter because my brother died in Vietnam, but I got over it! Time heals all wounds! All that said
it's a good book! No one wins in war!

Summary: Hello Old Friend!
Review: My first exposure to this counter-culture classic was in the most unexpected of settings, my college ROTC classroom. The book written in protest of the Viet-Nam War was being used by a Green Beret veterain of that same war to train us who might be leading troops in, yes, that same war. The irony speaks for itself. I understand that William Powell no longer agrees with what he wrote as a young man, and symphathise with the plight of an artist who has lost control of his work. However, I am glad (and somewhat suprised) that this is still available. Not only is it an important sociological piece of the period, but it is filled with information that could be useful if (god forbid) things ever hit the fan. That same ROTC instructor told me time and again, "Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it," so this book gets a space on my shelf just in case. It's the best book I hope you'll never need.

Summary: Great Read; Don't Try This At Home
Review: I've heard quite a bit about this book, so I decided to purchase it myself. The items contained in the book, are funny, a few of them are even useful, others are down right DANGEROUS. I wouldn't suggest trying any of them. The book is informative, but a bit outdated. Overall, it was very interesting, especially the state of Anarchism today (about 20 years ago), and some of the descriptions of the weapons and drugs contained therein.

Summary: LEXSPEAK
Review: I discovered this book in the early days of Punk Rock (79-82) and it gathered dust on my shelf but I always was sure to make it's presence known to my fellow punkers as ANARCHY was a punk buzzword.....Well about 10 years later during college I began to read and salivate at the ideas in the book and the motivation for them are NO starnger to me. Matter of fact I find that I would be writing "recipes" myself in my head for the next, well I still am. Anyhow- I do not like the Police or Prisons or Jails and the system that surrounds them. I do not wish to depose of it However, I think that fairness has been lost on society's need to have a victim and an agressor in all "two partie" crimes. FAIR = or JURISPRUDENCE whatever you want to call it this books beckons all those screwed at anytime. I wish there was more info on invisibility and guilt shift locking but Oh Well, Lex

Summary: Just one more for my collection.
Review: This book makes a good addition to my 'Take care of myself' type books. With like books - Poor Man's James Bond, Revenge (vol 1 &2), Don't Get Mad - Get Even (vol 1&2), BackStabbing, and others. Makes me wonder why there are still people who do semi-bad things to other people out there. These books should make them think twice before doing anything to another. They might be the next person who get a little surprise in their sock drawer.

Summary: A Must read for all
Review: I have looked for this book for years. Whenever I would find it somewhere I never had any money, but then one day I got lucky and got my hands on the little book of ideas. Its a fun little book and useful too. Let's you do all kinds of fun things. I won't say what mischief I've gotten myself into with this book, but I can tell you one thing you will not be bored....
