Summary: Very very interesting and detailed research.
Review: I almost done reading Professor. Mac Donald book and I have to say that its really a revealing and detailed book.I do not belive that professor McDonald is an antisemite as some people dismiss him in previous comments. I belive that the term antisemite is a kind of name calling that jews and non jews use when they want to vilify an opponent that made some very good critiscim towards anyone who is jewish and to whom they are not able to respond using reason. Unforunately the fear of been labeled an antisemite keeps most people from remotely criticicing jews even when their behaviour is so outragious and racist as towards Palestinians. McDonald wrote his book very meticously and it is in some parts very academic and full of details that makes it hard to read (at least form me that I am Italian) but he has to be so meticoulus becouse he is putting forward a TRULY CONTROVERSIAL issue and he must be accurate. I really recomend the book to anyone who wants to have a better understanding of what happened and the West and especially to United States in the last century. Without understandig the role played by Jews in this century its hard to truly understand our own culture.

Review: I commend the perceptive reviewer from Washington. MacDonald's work here, like his prior two books, barely conceals his vitriolic hatred of Jews behind academic cant. His earlier works regaled us with, among other things, his theory that Jews have higher IQ's than non-Jews, as a result of a eugenics program run by Jews themselves, operating primarily through the encouragement of rabinnical scholarship and encouraging girls to marry the biggest "geeks." To my mind, this sounds like another one of Rudyard Kipling's "Just So Stories," like "How the giraffe got his long neck." Absurd! MacDonald (and his spiritual godfather Richard Herrnstein, who "proved" that blacks are not as intelligent as whites in his book The Bell Curve) are unwilling to admit that the only thing an IQ test score shows is . . . are you ready? . . .an individual's score on an "IQ test." Our scientists don't really know what "intelligence" is, let alone how to measure (or, as Stephen Jay Gould would say, mismeasure) it for mankind in general. Ranking ethnic groups by IQ is as scientifcally defensible as Dr. Mengele looking at skull characteristics to determine who is "Aryan"(itself no doubt a twisted off-shoot of 18th century phrenology). Critically, though, this claptrap about Jews' being smarter than non-Jews is part and parcel of MacDonald's theory that Jews have manipulated Western civilization for centuries, through politics, the arts, and literature, to make it more likely that Jews would survive. In other words, MacDonald is saying what Adolf Hitler said in 1924 -- Jews run the world through a monstrous invisible conspiracy, simultaneously pushing both Communism AND capitalism on the dumb goy masses. Is psychoanalysis a "Jewish" movement, because Freud was a Jew? Is Marxism a "Jewish" movement, because Marx and Trotsky were Jews? (If so, Dr. MacDonald, did the Aryans re-capture Marxism when that Georgian psychopath Josef Stalin liquidated the Trotskyites?) Although MacDonald takes pains to avoid endorsing the Holocaust, his writings suggest that Jews should not be surprised if their "group survival techniques" are mirrored by gentiles; in other words, the Jews brought it on themselves. I really don't see how a bunch of sadistic maniacs making lampshades out of helpless people and selling their gold fillings to Swiss bankers rises to the level of a "group survival" technique, but, hey. Anti-semitic writers like MacDonald have been whining about Jewish "group survival" techniques for centuries; in Josephus' The Jewish War, written 2,000 years ago, the Romans complained bitterly about Jews only doing business with themselves. This is old news. (I'll bet that MacDonald was very disappointed to learn that Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer of Microsoft are gentiles.) Even more hysterical is MacDonald's dire prediction of a race war in America against the "Asian/Jewish" elite that he sees dominating our country's economy. Well, we just have to hope that MacDonald and his soul brothers up in Idaho never get their hands on a nuclear warhead, or say goodbye to Silicon Valley! I have heard that MacDonald became obsessed with Jewish issues when he began rooming with Jews in college or boarding school; he probably thinks that Jews in academe have conspired to deny him tenure or suppress his "work." At times like these, I am (almost) sorry that we live in a marketplace of ideas, and that MacDonald's barbaric ideas will compete for Lebensraum with the ideas of people who have progressed beyond little boys ripping the wings off flies. Sadly, MacDonald is one of the many individuals who are working to keep the world full of hatred and intolerance and sectarianism. Of course, as any fan of Stanley Kubrick knows, this has been going on for several million years, ever since our ancestors began to band into different tribes and fight over the best waterholes. Let's cut the crap, save what's left of this degenerating planet, and pursue what Warren Beatty enunciated in Bullworth as a voluntary program of racial de-polarization -- i.e., everybody ( ) everybody else until we're all the same [color]. I'm doing my part.

Summary: Five stars for courage!
Review: I do not feel qualified to judge the academic merits of Professor Kevin MacDonald's book; however, I gladly give him five stars for sheer courage. Writing about Jewish subjects is nowadays a very risky business unless one limits himself to the conventional pietisms and platitudes. Prof. MacDonald certainly doesn't do that. Predictably enough, his works (just like the books of Albert S. Lindemann on the real causes of "antisemitism"), triggered the usual hysteria and howls of rage. All the more reason to read them!

Review: I have bought this book the eyes closed and i didn't know if this author was serious. When i have read MacDonald, i was really impressed by the intelligence of this man who thinks deeply just. I tended also to underestimate the American authors seen like inferiors here in Europe. In fact if the freedom of thought still exists it is in America and thanks to authors like MacDonald. If its analysis is valid for America, it still more for Europe because one finds there the same characters pushing in an unlimited immigration. MacDonald should be translated in all the languages!!!!! AMERICA/EUROPE ERWACHE !!!!!

Summary: More Pseudo-Science from MacDonald
Review: I probably have to explain why I hate MacDonald so much. I am a conservative that agrees fully with, for instance, Buchanan's "Death of the West". I do understand that Western Civilization is in great danger: low European birth rates and unrestricted immigration will mean the end of European Cultures. So why do I dislike this book and MacDonald so much? Basically there are two reasons. One is that, as a hard scientist (I am a Physicist by trade), I have a very sensitive BS detector. All references to evolution in MacDonald strike me as pseudo-science. Second, and most important, is MacDonald monomaniacal fixation on Jews as the source of all problems. Jewish-Americans have contributed much to the defense of Western Civilization: just think of Edward Teller, the father of the (American) H-bomb. I fear that when things fall apart (and they will have to fall apart, before they start getting better) such anti-Semitic talk could cause an unthinkable assault on American Jews, who are certainly not the only problem, and, as a matter of fact, can now be found in numbers on the conservative side. Besides, MacDonald misses one very important point: even if Jews only acted in the interest of their own group, this interest nowadays includes insuring the survival of Western Civilization. Any intelligent Jew has to realize that they, as a group, don't have a future, if Western Civilization collapses. In summary, I agree (mostly) with MacDonald about the problems of Western Societies, but I disagree very strongly with his methodology and his fixation on the Jews as the main source of the problems. So, while I do recommend Buchanan's book, I cannot recommend any of MacDonald's books.

Summary: MacDonald's "Kampf"
Review: I recommend this book to white supremacists seeking a patina of scholarly respectability for a paranoiac, distorted, and fundamentally hostile approach to other ethnic, racial, and religious groups. Make no mistake about it. Behind the academic facade and feigned detachment is a polemical tract by a professor who perceives himself and other non-Jewish Caucasians as embattled and ultimately doomed to second-class status by Jewish and East Asian "eggheads"-- unless defensive measures are taken. Think I exaggerate? How I wish that were so. MacDonald writes: "The war goes on but it is easy to see who is losing"... "If present trends continue, in the long run the United States will be dominated by an Asian technocratic elite and a Jewish business, professional and media elite." He even perceives the "increased vulnerability of democratic and republican political institutions." Then, under the guise of prediction informed by social identity research, MacDonald (sounding chillingly like Louis Farrakhan) advances what is clearly his fervent wish: that "the European-derived peoples of the United States will become increasingly unified", and that they will "develop a united front and a collectivist political orientation vis-a-vis the other ethnic groups. Other groups will be expelled if possible or partitions will be created, and Western societies will undergo another period of medievalism." Ultimately, MacDonald (now sounding a bit more like the jaded aristocracy of 19th-century Victorian America) dreams of the downfall of the liberal individualist legacy of the enlightenment based on natural rights, superceded by 1) "the republican ideal of a cohesive, socially homogeneous society" [founded on what he calls "hierarchic harmony"] and 2) the 'ethnocultural' strand emphasizing the importance of Anglo-Saxon ethnicity in the development and preservation of American cultural forms." Readers who are not offended by the barely concealed malevolence of MacDonald's prose (not to mention his most tenuous grasp of Jewish history and culture) will no doubt counsel others to keep a cool head. (Rather like insulting someone's mother and then telling him not to get his hackles up.) But for the rest of us, the quality of MacDonald's scholarly rigor can be gauged from such gems as: "intense hatred of perceived enemies appears to be an important psychological characteristic of Jews." Remarks like these should not be dignified with a response, but I will anyway. Although two-thirds of the Jews of Europe were exterminated by Hitler, Jews after the war sought neither violent retaliation nor vindictive punishment of Germany and others. And I wonder what it was, other than "intense hatred of perceived enemies", that motivated Nazis and their sympathizers to take some two million live Jewish children and gas them; pour acid on them; slowly starve them to death in locked, decoupled train cars; hack them to death with meat cleavers; and murder them in countless other unimaginable ways. Whatever the case, the unpardonable brutalities of the past did not prevent my Jewish father (who lost all his Polish relatives) from marrying my German Gentile mother, nor me from loving and visiting my German relatives. So much for intense hatred. Believer as I am in the "decadent" values of liberal individualism (including free speech),I am satisfied that MacDonald found a publisher for his labors. But did it have to be Praeger? Frankly, I believe someone in their editorial department is guilty of the most unconscionable lapse of judgment and taste.

Summary: Most important, interesting book of the entire 20th century!
Review: It is quite apparent to every rational person that the Western world is currently caught in the jaws of some sort of lunatic, left-wing hysteria called political correctness ' but why? Do these things just happen, like the weather? Or do people make them happen? MacDonald's trilogy (particularly Culture of Critique) provides a unique, well-documented explanation for nearly all the plagues which have afflicted us in the past century ' Marxism, psychoanalysis, massive third world immigration, egalitarianism, promotion of homosexuality, the taboo against eugenics, and the profound corruption of the social sciences. These are not independent, unrelated catastrophes which simply descended upon us from nowhere, they are all part of one massive campaign. According to MacDonald, the current Zeitgeist in its various manifestations is the product of Jews and Jewish organizations working for many decades to re-create the social and political world of the West, bit by bit, into one which is maximally favorable to their own ethnic interests. The Jews have been massacred or expelled from every nation in which they have resided in their 5000-year history, and quite understandably, their paramount concern is insuring that it doesn't happen again. In a confident, united, ethnically homogenous society ' such as Nazi Germany ' Jews are much more vulnerable as conspicuous outsiders, and they know this both consciously and unconsciously. They are safer and more powerful in a society that is divided and disorganized. They become less noticeable, just one group among many, free to advance their own agenda unopposed. When the Jews' goals are contrary to the best interests of the nation as a whole, they often employ deception and intimidation to accomplish them. What's fascinating and especially illuminating are MacDonald's forays into Judaism and Jewish history which enable the reader to see religious roots supporting these behaviors, and a similar dynamic between Jews and Gentiles in times and places very different from our own. Kevin MacDonald's trilogy is a cautious, unemotional, thorough work of a dedicated scholar, one which is meticulously documented, and drawn largely from Jewish sources, yet the implications of his findings are explosive. It doesn't take the average American long to realize that the dominant social and political culture which Jewry has imposed upon us is inimical to the interests of the other 98% of the country, and to European-Americans in particular. Many Americans bitterly reject this alien culture, but they are deeply confused about exactly how and why it all came into being, and who or what, precisely, is behind it. MacDonald is the source for answers.

Summary: First Rate
Review: It took genius and a touch of divine courage to produce this work. The Culture of Critique is a study of racial and ethnic competitive/evolutionary strategies used by a small, very united ethnocentric group that has been most successful over time, despite its size, maintaining and advancing itself in a competitive context. The study features the group's key players in the 20th century, whose collective strategy seems aptly described by the Mossad motto: "By way of deception, thou shalt do war." Professor MacDonald's meticulous research and thoroughly documented analysis fly in the face of many decades of a pervasive propaganda, conducted on many fronts, that has been part and parcel of an agenda to destroy western (Christian) civilization. If you want to know what has happened and is happening to the West, you will find many of the answers here.

Summary: MacDonald's thesis just begs the question
Review: It's funny to see this book listed in the National Vanguard's book catalogue, describing it to potential buyers as "worth every penny," because its thesis convincingly argues that Jews are ethnically tribal, the same thing the far-right has advocated whites be for the past 40 years. The far-right may respond that the reason whites aren't ethnocentric is *because* of Jewish ethnic tribalism -- what MacDonald calls the Jews' "evolutionary strategy" -- which Jews have advanced with the help of their primary opinion-molding tool, the media, which they've used to lay constant anti-racist guilt-trips on the shoulders of whites for years; but if that's true, then it just begs the question nobody on the far-right wants to answer, namely, how Jews got into the position of being able to squelch white racial consciousness in the first place. Quite obviously, the answer is superior Jewish intelligence, for how else could a group comprising three percent of the US population exercise this much influence over the rest of it? A quick glance at the statistical overrepresentation of Jews in the Forbes 400 and among Nobel Laureates makes any appeal to "culture," as an explanation for their fiscal and intellectual pre-eminence, implausible. According to The Bell Curve, the IQ discrepancy between Jews and gentiles is roughly the same as the IQ discrepancy between whites and blacks (15 points). This makes it disingenuous for anyone to talk of "Jewish conspiracies" when the fact of the matter is that Jewish intellect, forged through centuries of selective breeding, is really what's at play.
While it's certainly true, as MacDonald hastens to point out, that Jews have been at the forefront of every negative cultural trend of the past century (communism, group rights, deconstructionism and racial egalitarianism chief among them), it's equally true that Jews have also been at the forefront in opposing these same trends (though in the case of racial egalitarianism, at a much later date). One of the first critically systematic expositions of communism was written by a Jew (Ludwig von Mises) in 1922, five years after the Russian Revolution took place, which was both led and financed by Jews. In fact, the free-market's most staunch defenders in subsequent years were Jews, most notably Milton Friedman, Murray Rothbard, Isaiah Berlin, Frank Chodorov and Ayn Rand. And although Jews were heavily involved in the statist civil rights movement to elevate an obviously inferior race, some of the harshest criticisms of racial egalitarianism have come from Jews in recent years, best exemplified by Michael Levin's "Why Race Matters." MacDonald also cites the incomprehensible Jacques Derrida as yet another example of a Jew at the center of an academic fad (deconstructionism) intent on sending the literary world to hell in a handbasket, i.e., making literature safe for "oppressed people" with no talent or imagination. Neverthless, a prominent Jewish academic Allan Bloom, who provided the inspiration for Saul Bellow's Abe Ravelstein, wrote a bestselling book towards the end of the 1980s entitled "The Closing of the American Mind," which was highly critical of Jacques Derrida's style of literary criticism. So again, you find Jews at the end of both spectrums.
I would, however, agree on the whole that Jews are disproportionately drawn towards the left more so than they are the right. It's not difficult on that basis to understand why certain people might get the idea that Jews are involved in a conscious, concerted effort to subvert Western society. But whether or not they are, the fact remains that their world-perfecting idealism has clearly been a menace to European Christians, who shouldn't "turn the other cheek" towards a group whose credo for interpersonal relations is "any eye for an eye." Some may claim that Christianity is to blame for the present state of affairs, but I dissent from this perspective. Prior to the 1960s, churches were segregated and plenty of Catholic writers, such as Hilaire Belloc, Evelyn Waugh and G.K. Chesterton, had written about this group and their negative influence on European Christians.
While this is clearly a very sensitive topic, I feel it's high-time that it be dealt with candidly, without being reduced to crude sloganeering like "there are good Jews and there are bad Jews." This book, if you can afford it, gives the reader the candor this subject so often lacks.

Summary: Is it IQ or tribal solidarity?
Review: John French, in his review above, falls into a simple statistical error when he concludes that higher IQ explains the complete control of the means of communication by Jews. He misses the fact that because Northern European Whites outnumber Jews in America by 30 to 1 they also produce every year far more super-geniuses, geniuses, and near-geniuses. So, even if proportionally Jews may produce more high IQ individuals per 1000 than Whites, they produce far fewer in absolute numbers. Another source of statistical error for Mr. French is his baseline use of 15 IQ points as the difference between average European White IQ and Jewish IQ. 9 points of IQ is more commonly quoted. In sum, the only sufficient mechanism explaining the total hegemony over communications channels that the tiny Jewish population has constructed during its short sojourn in the midst of White populations is organization. Tribal organization. Precisely the patterns of group solidarity that Professor MacDonald so meticulously documents in his supremely important piece of scholarship and insight. Very high IQ insight. And very suppressed. The media blackout, censorship, and ridicule that the genius Professor MacDonald's book gets actually makes the same point that his book makes!
