Summary: Evolution and pseudo-intellectual movements
Review: Kevin MacDonald applies the methods and perspectives of evolutionary psychology to arrive at some understanding of the relationship of the Jews to the Northern European peoples. The vehicle is his scholarly examination of several intellectual movements: Freudian psychoanalysis, Boasian anthropology, the Frankfurt school, and marxist political ideology. In a nutshell, he shows that each of these movements were unscientific frauds, each devised with an intention to undermine fundamental aspects of Western European culture. Unfortunately for us, each of them were powerful movements with widespread acceptance during the twentieth century. Happily, though, each of them are now thoroughly discredited among all, excepting only the most self-deceptive of the unregenerate professors.

This is a powerful book, required reading for those who want to learn how American society actually works. It shows how seemingly pure intellectual disputes about the grand questions of life are sometimes only instruments of competition for the evolutionary success of ethnic groups, and have little to do with science or any correspondence to reality. They often involve charismatic leaders and group cohesion, involving banishment and punishments for dissenters--they function much like a cult.

His eye-opening discussion of the motivation of the Jews in their relentless campaign to change American immigration laws in 1965 provides an important insight to the present mania for multiculturalism. His convincing argument is that Jews feel safer in a society in which they are only one of several competing minority groups, within a weakened European culture. The effect of this change in the law in the US is enormous, and MacDonald is correct in claiming that the National Jewish organizations continue in their efforts to effect a fundamental change in American society. And he rightfully exposes their hypocritical defense of Israel's immigration policies, which are hardly driven by a concern for greater diversity within their own land.

This book, while not quite a call to arms, is certainly a courageous call to wake-up!

Summary: MacDonald Critiques Critics of White Gentile Civilization
Review: Kevin MacDonald's Culture of Critique goes over Jewish intellectual movements that critique Western Civilization. A lot of the movements are based on pseudo-intellectualism that emphasizes political rhetoric that sounds scientific, but ultimately is not based on any scientific experimentation. MacDonald exposes the falsities of such "intellectuals" as Freud and the psychoanalysts, Franz Boas and the radical enviromental sociologists, Hannah Arendt's Origins of Totalitarianism, Stephen Gould's Mismeasure of Man.

MacDonald shows how that Jews generally have felt alienated from gentile society and have viewed it as racist, unjust, and sick. Their anti-gentile sentiments have had an influence on the political atmosphere of Western nations as they have tried to make the West more multi-cultural while still retaining a stong group cohesion. As they keep their own cohesion, they wish to break down the racial cohesion of whites by their intellectual movements that emphasize anti-racism and sexual license. Freud's psychoanalysis movement is viewed by MacDonald as a method in which to break down the high investment parenting of white gentiles by getting them to become more promiscuous and less interested in forming strong families.

MacDonald's greatest strength is his thorough documentation of these intellectual movements to back up his thesis. The reader will have a different view of the political changes that have occurred during the twentieth century. MacDonald predicts that white gentiles may become more collective in the future in order to preserve their race and culture. I think that many white gentiles after reading this book will be angry at these various jewish intellectuals and many jewish readers will be angry at MacDonald. This is a divisive work.

I thought may have missed a few rogue intellectual movements though. He could have targeted the jewish influence on feminism and our economic, monetary, and foreign policies. I also thought that is the west is so universal and assimilationist as MacDonald claims, then multiculturalism would not be such a controversial movement.

Summary: Scholarly malfeasance
Review: Kevin MacDonald's scholarly practices fall well below the standard usually expected of academic discourse. He consistently mispreresents source materials to bolster his thesis, by, for instance, omitting data that explicitly falsifies his arguments. Readers predisposed to believe in Jewish conspiracies will welcome MacDonald's Judaism books; fitted out as they are with all the trappings of scientific research, these books mark a noteworthy development in the recent history of antisemitic discourse. Readers interested in questions of research ethics will find MacDonald an interesting case study in how a predetermined agenda can result in hopelessly perverted scholarship.

As a general rule, none of MacDonald's citations ought to be accepted at face value; he simply cannot be trusted to report accurately on what his sources say. The frequent paraphrases or short summaries of source materials in particular need to be treated as red flags, indicating the high probability of serious distortion in the reading of the source that "supports" MacDonald's (fore-ordained) conclusion.

Summary: A masterful work
Review: Kevin MacDonald, in a well-researched piece of work, puts forth a devastating indictment of Jewry in the decline of the West and of European man. The last in a very convincing trilogy, Culture of Critique provides much needed answers to those Euro-Americans who know that something is desperately wrong, but do not understand WHY things are wrong, and WHO is responsible. This book's last chapter by itself is almost worth the price, as it summarizes the present state of the West, and the grim future we face, unless we can build the group-serving ideologies and structures that will allow us to survive. This book is a must read.

Summary: Not the hate book it's made out to be.
Review: Let me first say that being a college student, I've
been taught to take all reading in the mind of being
critical of it and trying to see the contexts, motives,
etc. of the writer, the writing, and the society the
book is introduced into.

Given these parameters, I must say, I don't see why
so many people think this book is a book to incite
hatred. I find it to be very academic and observant
and simply recording "what is" and "how it functions"
rather than any real opinions about if Jews are good
or bad or anything else. The book simply talks about
how efficient certain undertakings by certain Jewish
people have been, and how their religion and cultural
heritage informed their actions and thoughts. I don't
see what's so awful about that. I don't see what's
so hateful about looking into that and observing
it and recording that any more than it's hateful to
observe how any species on the planet survives and
thrives and how they do it. Is it a *crime* in
America now to even consider Jews as a people or
a race or a distinct group? Why? Why is it hateful
and awful to observe Jews if one is not Jewish?
(Or maybe even if one *is* Jewish???)

*THAT* is what bothers me most about this book, is that
so many people are saying this book is hate-filled
and hatred-inciting, and I seriously question the
motives of people who say that sort of thing.

This is an academic and scholarly study and I very
much appreciated reading it. I am glad people like
Kevin McDonald do the work they do in the face of
so much dis-information and anger about their work.
I think the hullaballoo may perhaps indicate a
necessity for the presence of the work in academia
more than the existence of the book itself does!
It should never be a crime to question, observe,
record. Ever. That is science and that is how
we proceed. Have we learned nothing?

Summary: Great book on Jewish ultra-leftist liberalism in the West
Review: Lets get the facts out first. It is absoulutely no secret, open-secret that the ultra-leftists liberals-communists of the 19th, 20th. century have been Jews. It is well known and has always been a sort of conspiracy by the right to point out that Jews are radical leftists-communists bent on destrying Western Civilization. The Internet is full of paranoia site on Jewish ultra-liberalism.

Marx, Lenin, Trotsky of Russian Revolution were Jewish. Sigmund Frued, Franz Boas, Rosa Luxemberg, Emmma Goldman, are Jewish. In fact, find any ultra-leftists cause and you will find a Jewish leader or thinker. The ultra-left Clinton presidency has a 40% Jewish representation from a poplulation that only represents two percent. 90% vote left-Democratic.

All the ideas of Marx, Freud, Boaz, Frankfurt school "relativism" have brought total and absoulute diasters. The ideas of Marx-Lenin caused at least 100 million death. Ideas of Freud that no one is responsible for anything is still with us.

McDonald posits the theses that Western ideas and civilization has triumphed over the globe. The ideas of free markets, free speech and association, free markets, free elections, rule of law, science and technology and material abundance characterizes all Western societies. British colonies like Hong Kong and Singapore enjoy incomes higher than the British. The benefits of Western ideas we benefit daily.

The simple question then remains: If the Western civilization has triumphed all over the world. Why do we have radical-leftists attacks in the form of Marx, Freud, Boas and others.

For example, Professor Noam Chomsky of MIT and Alan Dershowitz of Harvard is incessant in their attach on American institutions. They attach the very system that feeds, houses, protects, pays and rewards them with plum jobs. "Don't bite the hand that feeds you", in fact, they are taking a chainsaw to the hand that feeds them.

Alan Dershowitz was on the radio and denouces the US Constituion as "racist" and "sexist" and "full of typos". This type of bigoted, hateful Jewish comments is what fuels the right view of Jews as ultra-leftists-communists bent detroying America and gentile society. It fuels the right's paranoia about Jewish hatred of the West.

The success of the West and the curious, bizarre, incessant Jewish attack on the West is what this book is about. McDonald posits it is "evolutionary survival" strategy for Jewish survival. Jews see the West as their enemy and bent on "critizing", undermining, if not destroying the society. The theses is complicated and fully supported by scholarly evience.

The books raises the paradox of Jewish success in the West, especially in US, and unending attach in the US itself. Is it not dangerous to attack the "host" society that has been the land of opportunity? Witness ultra-leftists, nutcases in the form of Alan Dershowitz and Noam Chomsky, sitting at MIT and Harvard, no less attacking American institutions book after book....

Success of the West and lunatic-leftist Jewish attacks on the West, that what this book is about. Please buy, read it yourself, have an open mind, judge for yourself.

McDonald is deep thinker, courageous scholar, and able writer on "ideas" that shape our world. BUY IT.

Review: MacDonald puts into words what I had so often felt but could not explain. His thesis would be difficult to refute given the voluminous quotes of leading Jewish intellectuals provided.

Summary: A New Slant on The Protocols of the Elders of Zion
Review: MacDonald's work falls into the category of Rushton's studies of intelligence on the basis of brain size in terms of "proving" a point as a generality of conclusion. Many groups have had influence on thoughts and indeed, Judaism as the founding monotheistic religion fostered both Islam and Christianity. One could also argue about the influence of England or France or Spain in promoting systems of belief in the world. The patterns of minority group self-defense culturally and in behaviour patterns is a well known phenomenon in the world. In Toronto, the richness of the cultural mosaic fosters community pride and embraces both respect for ethnicity as well as pride of citizenship in Canada. Italians were the largest immigrant group in the late forties and fifties as a source of cheap labour and were discriminated against in many ways. As they developed their own institutions as well as pride of citizenship, these patterns dissipated. Of course these were not the only reasons. Identity relationships also assisted. That is when children are raised with other children and distinctions disappear because the children experience and are taught tolerance. Jewish influence in North America failed to save thousands of family members of Jews who were citizens due to immigration policies that were anti-semitic. In Canada, "None Is Too Many" by Abella and Troper documented the fruitless struggle of gentiles to save Jews from the Nazi conflagration. Not even small children were worthy of being rescued by the anti-semitic senior policy makers of the government of the day. The influence of Jews throughout history in promoting tolerance, scholarship, and morality did not stop Jews from being excluded and discriminated against. The pattern of Chinese valuing education and excelling in academics is not so different from that of the Jews in North America. The Chinese were also discriminated against, and have also had influence as well as patterns of defensive behaviour. Notwithstanding these realities, the wonder of the North American democratic and social institutions has been how American and Canadian Jews or Chinese for that matter have become assimilated and connected to the identity of their adopted nations by birthright and by experience. If one examines reviews of MacDonald's books or even scans the top 1000 reviewer found in the list, you will find great acclaim also for David Duke's autobiography. Duke is a member of the Ku Klux Klan who promotes White Supremacist views. MacDonald examines the experience of Jews in North America and provides examples of their influence however, his paradigm of presenting the Jewish people as antagonists or as being anti-gentile is indeed disingenous. The rave reviews presented of his books mostly are of those who would embrace separateness of peoples, and lean to a new virulent form of anti-semitism. Every minority group tends to defensiveness especially in the face of a history of persecution which could be slaughter. The holocaust was the technological version of that historical pattern. MacDonald does not promote understanding of the patterns of human group behaviour, nor the socio-psychological realities of history in his work. Instead he promotes a kind of neo-Darwinism to support a eugenic view of the world. Readers should arm themselves as they read MacDonald's works and understand the underlying anti-semitic context of his work. This time it is the Jews. Next time it could be oriental, African or Afro-American, hispanic or East Indian people.

Summary: A Guide to the Perplexed for the 20th Century
Review: MacDonald's work is an indispensable Rosetta stone for understanding five of the key intellectual and political movements of the 20th century: communism, Boasian anthropology, psychoanalysis, Critical Theory and radical immigration reform.
One cannot easily dismiss MacDonald's conclusion that the leaders of the last century's most socially destructive movements were people with a deep sense of their Jewish identity. Much of his evidence is drawn from the Jewish leaders of the very movements under discussion. Quotations are deftly woven into the central thesis of the work: The foregoing movements, intrinsically hostile to European gentile culture, were developed and then energetically advanced by charismatic, secular Jewish authoritarian figures and their followers as part of an overall ethnic advancement strategy. Men such as Franz Boas, Sigmund Freud, T.W. Adorno and others founded universalistic-sounding ideological systems based on the thinnest veneer of science for the purpose of radically transforming gentile culture. The great Jewish minds were more than willing to sacrifice objectivity, science and the search for universal knowledge in the name of identifying and removing what they believed to be the root causes of anti-Semitism.

The criticisms of Western culture advanced by Freud and the Frankfurt School emphasized that the West was dangerously neurotic because of sexual repression, extant authoritarian social structures such as the two parent family, Christianity and, more generally, anything which might provide European gentiles with a sense of ethnic identity (e.g., nationalism in whatever form). The very institutions and cultural practices attacked as pathogenic and the root causes of anti-Semitism were widely practiced by the Jews themselves. By redefining strong traditional gentile practices as pathogenic, the Jews were able to give themselves a decisive advantage in the struggle to advance to the highest social positions. At the same time, they preserved Judaism as an unassimilated group in pursuit of its own advancement. From communism to the 1965 Immigration Reform Act, these predominantly Jewish movements have insisted that gentiles make radical suicidal social reforms in response to their interminable critiques. At the same time, Judaism has avoided practicing what it preaches. (Can anyone imagine a European professor at a prestigious private university traveling around telling other whites that they should only marry other whites? That professor would be stripped of tenure and bounced out in a gale of denunciations by her school. Yet this is precisely what Deborah Lipstadt, professor of Jewish studies at Emory, has done for years. In unison with other prominent Jews, she has argued against intermarrying with gentiles in order to keep Judaism pure. Today, it appears that only the Chosen People are allowed to freely advocate for the preservation of their own race and culture.)

MacDonald analyzes one of the foundational texts of modern sociology, The Authoritarian Personality, and shows that throughout, the primarily Jewish researchers draw all sorts of conclusions from their subjects without reference to any scientific norm. Whenever interviewees express a strong sense of love and admiration for their parents, the researchers conclude that they are hiding repressed feelings of anger and frustration. Conversely, children of broken homes who express ambivalent feelings about their parents are described as "healthy" and "honest". How are these conclusions drawn? The examples provided illustrate the duplicitous use and abuse of science for the purpose of destroying natural social institutions. Even today when the methods and conclusions of these movements have been adequately debunked by those working in the social sciences, they still carry authority in the popular mind thanks to the tireless mendacity of missionaries like Stephen Jay Gould. Advances in the fields of the social sciences and psychology have been set back by decades because of the dogmatic shams concocted by certain Jewish ethnic activists. Even now, whites and blacks alike have cast aside high investment childrearing in a two-parent family -- hotbed for gentile neuroses -- to pursue lifestyles destructive of individual and communal good in response to the recommends of 20th century patriarchs.

For those who would dismiss MacDonald's thesis, consider the current ethnic makeup of the neoconservatives surrounding Bush and who run influential opinion journals. In launching the recent war of aggression against Iraq, the Bush administration and its coterie of (heavily Jewish) scribblers at National Review, The New Republic and The Weekly Standard defended the indefensible by couching their reasons in universalistic moralisms. Consistent with the pattern of Jewish behavior described by MacDonald, they keep close ties to their own kind, contributing to the political doctrines of extreme right-wing Likudniks back in Israel (think of Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Perle, et. al.). Likewise, they've systematically redefined America and her relationship to the world (shades of the anti-restrictionists discussed in Chp. 7 all over again) in order to present our republic as an international lone gun defender of democracy. This anti-historical interpretation conveniently serves the interests of Israel while leaving Americans to shoulder the long term and short term consequences. They're forever citing one another's works and publicly bolstering one another's viewpoints in an effort to present a front of reasonable minds rather than a mob of rabid ethnic hacks. In the vein of David Frum and Jonah Goldberg, they've denounced critics of neoconservative policy as anti-Semites regardless of whether warranted or not. From the far left to the far right, everyone who has questioned the motives of the recent war has been tried, condemned and sentenced to the loony fringe. Likewise, they have adopted white boys like Wm. Bennett and Fred Barnes to serve as shabbas goyim front men in their campaign to turn America into the military arm of Zionism. These behavior patterns are entirely consistent with those covered by MacDonald in his examination of the Big Five Kosher Ideologies in C of C.

The times have changed, but the players who are working against the interests and well-being of European-Americans have only grown more powerful. The duel for the soul of the West is an ethnic competition between two groups with very different histories, cultures, and desires.

Summary: A Very Good Book
Review: Not too much to add to what other reviewers have already wrote. This book clearly shows that Jews have played a huge role in the changing of America. Buy it, you won't regret it.
