Summary: Excellent piece of non-fiction
Review: Into the Wild was an excellent book. I would recommend it to anybody who has ever had the desire to get away from people they see everyday and experience the great outdoors. John Krakauer presented the story in a different manner, but made it interesting to read. I could identify with the story because I have always wanted to get away from life and experience what it's like to live on your own. This story portrayed that, but at more of an extreme level. It took you through one man's trials that most people would never dream of attempting. The book made me feel as if the author wasn't just telling a story, but rather he was telling the story to me. Krakauer not only told the story of one man, but he told of other people's trials of life as well as his own. This made the story more interesting and one could understand better why the main character in the book took such risks with his life. Overall, I really enjoyed the book. It hardly ever lacked anything and it was a real page turner. I think it will appeal to anyone who reads it and it will raise some kind of thoughts and emotions from everybody.

Summary: National Bestseller that is for you to decide.
Review: "Into The Wild" by Jon Krakhauer is a story that tells of a man with everything that you could want in your life leaving it all behind for the wilderness of the Alaskan outback. It has somewhat of a pulp-fiction beginning that starts with the conclusion of the story and then goes on to tell how Christopher Johnson came to be in the situation. Some may beleive that he is somewhat selfish by ruuning off during hard family times trying to somehow pay his family back for all the trouble they had put him through. Before you make any jugdements of Christophers action look into both sides of his action. He also gave his savings to charity and abandoned what looked to be a fairly successful career. After reading this book however do you think that peoples outlook on his story and life changes would have changed if he would have successfully stayed alive in the wilderness.

Summary: It is an interesting story told well.
Review: In the book, "Into the Wild", Krakauer does an excellent job of telling the story of what really happened to Chris McCandless. He uses a unique style of telling us the events which led to the death of McCandless. He collected many details and researched very throughly into the McCandless's journeys. This research however led the readers with mixed feelings about the subject. I feel that McCandless was very bold and almost foolish. I can respect the fact that he was fulfilling a dream and venturing out on his own. I, however, believe their is a line between being daring and being stupid. McCandless could have had a chance of surviving if he had at least entered the challenge prepared. Instead he accepted nothing from anyone who tried to help him. He entered the Alaskan wilderness with nothing and accepted his own fate, death.

Summary: into the wild reviewed
Review: Jon Krakauer's "Into The Wild" is an intriguing account about Chriss McCandless and others like him. The author's style takes that of a private investigator that strongly relates to the person he is following. A bit bias? Yes, but isn't everything? It's certianly not biased enough so that you can't take a different side than the author. The author reveals facts about McCandlesses travels but are also douced with elaborate destriptive words with makes it less mundane and more colorful. I appreciate his writing style. Although it is good for a 200 page book I don't think that I could force myself to read a huge novel of the same style. This book is enjoyable, it not only portrays krakauer's personnal views but many of the people that crossed chris's path. Not to mention comments by his family. Above all I like this book because it made me think about issues that I think are important.

Summary: "Into The Wild," a great book for risk takers and dreamers.
Review: For the novel "Into The Wild," by Jon Krakauer I gave four stars. This novel I feel was great for college students thing about doing something risky in that it provides facts of a real person doing it. The book provides readers with the information of both McCandless' mistakes and strengths. Also this novel is good for college students in that it gives them motivation to achieve their dreams. In fact everyone could relate to this novel in the sense of motivation for their dreams. Another good aspect of this novel is that it gets you very involved. Almost in a sense that someone is reading you the story, like a Date Line special. I took a star because the book had some what of a confusing order to it. It was rather hard to follow in the beginning, but it seemed to get better as I read on.

Summary: Into the Wild
Review: "Into the Wild", a non-fiction book by Jon Krakauker, provided a vivid account of young man with a bright future who risk his life for the love of the wilderness. Influence by many authors such as Jack London, he set out a two years adventure and tried to lived off the land without any money. The book is great from the beginning to the end. The descriptions and the dictions created a mental picture as the readers read through the book. This book would be hard to put down after you begin to read it.

Summary: McCandless is a strange, strange man.
Review: Jon Krakauer's book Into the Wild is a wonderous story about a mans ability to do what ever his heart desires. The main character Chris McCandless was an adventurer that too often didn't think before his actions, he went on impulse, whick lead to his death in the wilderness north of Mt. McKinley. Krakauer's writing and organization in this book was confusing. It is very jumppy and hard which made it hard to keep interest. The book was not only about the McCandless story but what type of person Krakauer thought him to be. McCadless was definately had a screwed up head. Why in the world would anyone throw away all their money, and roam the world. What is even weirder is that he thought that what he did was noble in his own sence. Krakauer points out some instences in his childhood that could have contributed to his mental state. McCadless was mentally deranged to do what he did. He should have done more smart planning.

Summary: This book was well-researched, yet seemed very biased.
Review: After reading "Into the Wild," by Jon Krakauer, I must say that i have been somewhat enlightened by the tale of a boy that set out to seek a dream. I enjoyed this book, but I felt strongly that it's tone was greatly influenced by the author. The late Chris McCandless is definitely someone who i admire. He had a desire to go out into the great vastness of our country and seek out what he was missing. Although I do believe that Krakauer glorified his character a little too much, the book was well written, especially dealing with the chronological events that took place. The research done was obviously intense - to go and listen to the stories of all these people must had taken a great deal of time. I feel reading the book was well worth the time it took, and i would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a story of inspiration.

Summary: Into the wild: good reporting, but less personal experience
Review: In "Into the Wild" Krakauer does an excellent job of telling Chris "Alex Supertramp" McCandless's story. He goes into great detail with personal conversations with those who knew Chris. This was a great way to get the personal side of Chris's story, but when Krakauer intervined with his own experiences, it detracted from what should have been the overall purpose of the story, which is the story of Chris McCandless. I feel that if Krakauer, although a great outdoorsman, would have left out his personal experiences, the book would have been easier to understand and more well-rounded and enjoyable.

Summary: Into The Wild is mysterious, exciting, unbelievable.
Review: In, Into The Wild, Jon Krakauer explores the life and journeys of Chris McCandless. Krakauer traces McCandless' life from his early childhood, up to the time of his misfortunate death. Krakauer relates his own life and many others to the life that McCandless had chosen to lead after his graduation from college. I gave this book four stars because I felt that it was moving and mysterious. Krakauer supplied a lot of facts and figures about McCandless' life to help the reader imagine who Chris McCandless really was. My reason for not giving the book that fifth star was that it was quite hard to follow and was somewhat confusing. But these features made it hard for me to put the book down, because if I had put it down I would have been lost when I picked it back up. I liked how Krakauer started off the beginning with the death of Chris, even though he showed me how Chris died it still made me as an individual want to continue reading too find out how he died. Every chapter was filled with new ideas and stories which made the book readable and fun to enjoy.
