Rating: Summary: Network+ Certified! Review: This book is definitely the easiest and cheapest way to get your Network+ certification. Believe me, you will be happy you saved some money by buying this book and not a huge 800 page tome, because the tests can be costly. Besides, the huge 800 page books usually lose sight of their main purpose: preparation. This book got right to the meat of the test objectives and was very easy reading. It was almost hard to put down. It comes with 2 practice tests, reviews after each chapters, and an additional CD-ROM with another practice test. If you are thinking about taking the test, get this book, and maybe a supplemental book because there were a few things on the CD-ROM practice test that this book didn't cover. If you don't want to get a supplemental book, there are plenty of websites with free study guides and practice tests out there. I would definitely recommend this book. If you are thinking about getting your A+ as well, I would recommend A+ Fast Pass by Todd Lamelle (I hope I spelled his name right).
Rating: Summary: No-hassle info Review: This book is excellent. The word I notice in everyone's review is concise, and it's so true. No blabbity-blab about the history of networking, no digressions, just the straight info. Well proofread also, very few mistakes. Author has a straightforward but readable style, and information is presented logically and helpfully. Awesome book. Easily worth the money. Thanks for helping me pass fast!
Rating: Summary: Great book for Network+ exam preparation Review: This is great book for Network+ exam preparation. It covers 98% of all you will need to know for exam. Coverage is sufficient, however one might require additional reading, if one is not familiar with some topic. There are quizzes at the end of every chapter, and two big quizzes at the end of the book. This book is highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: VERY helpful Review: This was the only book i purchased to study for the exam. Also purchased the Transcender 2.0 practice exams. Between the two, I made an 806 out of 900 on the actual exam. If you're new to networking, this is NOT the book for you. You have to have a good understanding of the OSI model, and what each layer does. Along with that it quickly goes over protocols and the TCP/IP suite. All of which this book just only briefly reminds you of. Which is the whole purpose of the book. This book was MUCH better than the A+ version of the Exam Cram2 series, and is GREAT for people that already having networking knowledge. Not for the newbies though. If you took CCNA, semester 1 and part of semester 2, you would be ok with getting this certificate after reading this book and taking the Transcender practice tests.
Rating: Summary: Yea, its great Review: Used this book as 1 of my 2 study materials.
Passed with 873/900.
Rating: Summary: All you need for Network+ (as far as a book) Review: Very detailed, laid out well, and a easy read. The questions and reviews were great, tricky questions which made you think. It sure helps if you have the hands on experience, however if you do or don't this is the book I would recommend.
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: Very well written. Practice questions are really good and test engine is very slick. Great book!
