Summary: Reluctant Messiahs Unite
Review: I don't know what it was that drove me to this book as a high school junior. Most of the trash that I was reading at that time was a waste of time AND brain cells. Perhaps it was the flashy cover. Maybe it was me reaching for answers to the meaning of a meager existence. Mallarkey. It really looked interesting from the notebook handwritten first pages and I believe that my agnostic darkside approved of the subject matter. This book turned into my all time favorite. Though it didn't TURN ME ON to God it was able to give me a new perspective on the fragile lives that we live. There is a part of me that wishes that Hollywood could find this particular classic(Rob Reiner, Are you listening? I've always thought you would be the best one to handle an adaptation of this book.) A certain part of me has been unable to read any of the sequels that Mr. Bach has written, A BRIDGE ACROSS FOREVER and ONE. I do not wish to shine a bad light on these works they may well be very good, they just never spoke to me in the way that ILLUSIONS did. I think it is probably about time to read it again. THANK YOU VERY MUCH MR. BACH. Your book has been a staple to my library since 1976.

Summary: Book to Make You Think
Review: The book "Illusions" by Richard Bach is a great, easy-to-read book that involves a very interesting journey and a thought-provoking end. This book follows the life through a simple barnstormer named Richard. Richard's life is normal until he meets a man named Donald Shimoda-a mechanic and messiah that turns Richard's life around with different tests of reality. I enjoyed reading this book because it makes you think about reality, but lets you learn more and more throughout the entire book. The short read makes it less of a challenge, but still worth the time to read. Richard Bach does a great job of writing this book; it reads easy and never lets you put it down! I recommend this book to everyone, it's always important to have knowledge in this field, afterlife.

Summary: Illusions
Review: This book was a true inspiration to me. Richard Bach has a way of taking incredibly difficult philosophical theories and putting them into words that anyone can understand. Illusions has given me a new outlook on life.

Summary: A man-made holly book
Review: If you ever wonder how it will look like having a religous or holly book written by an "earhtly" creature such as a man personally, here is one good sample for you.

Summary: Changed my life and the way I looked at the World
Review: It was 15 plus years ago I first picked up this book. I read and re-read it until the cover was cracked and bent. It started me on a journey through other Bach works, where I found more to learn and more to love. Now I have my chosen few who spoke the most to me in my most cherished collection of writings. I haven't picked it up in awhile, but I still remember every message, and there were many, that I took from the book all those years ago.

A little older, and a bit more jaded, maybe I don't still believe that I could swim in land or walk on water through sheer belief. Maybe I haven't read enough in quantum mechanics to retain it. However, I can say with certainty that my life is better because I did believe it once - and I believed because of this book. Of all of the books I have ever read, this one easily vies for the top spot of "Book that Most Touched my Soul." Read it. Believe it.

Summary: DREAMS
Review: This book captures you right from the beginning till the end just like an illusion does and in the end you realize that eveything in the book may be not true but just an illusion. The book helps you to see life too closely and tells you as to what life is all about. It makes you aware of the very fact that nothing is real and the life is just a dream. Richard Bach's meet with the Messiah was to teach him lessons so he too could become one.The power of believing is what one needs during a lifetime,if one can learn that nothing remains impossible. The book tells you that every problem comes with a gift in hand and we ask for problems because we need their gifts, and Bach in his book shows that very well. The book is worth reading a thousand times and for especially those who like to live in an illusionary world.....

Summary: Inspirational
Review: My mother gave this to me years ago. Through out the years I found bits which helped me laugh at myself & when she died I realized that her "mission on earth was complete". Thanks Richard Bach for helping me deal with her death so well!

Summary: A lifetime companion
Review: I read this book 17 years ago. I was 19. I remember this book gave me guidance thru hard times. I have been reading it once in a while, every 3 or 4 years, and the magic is that the book grow up with me, teaches me about new things, depending on my specific situation. Somebody said in this reviewers list that this is Life 101. I agree; I like that definition. This is a book that will teach you about life, no matter your religion, your social background, your IQ level. This is a basic message about how to live and enjoy the life. The perfect gift for yourself and for your friends and foes, looking for a perfect gift for somebody that has everything? Try this & a good Jazz CD!

Summary: Beautiful
Review: I read this book after Jonathan Livingston Seagull and it is sort of a continuation of the ideas expressed in that book. This story is about a mechanic turned messiah, who escapes the crowds demanding miracles and answers by 'barnstorming', flying an old plane into farmer's fields and offering people plane rides for a few bucks. That is how he meets the author, who also barnstorms. Free from all the constraints of the modern world, the two pilots share the same field and form a fast friendship. The messiah begins to teach the author his knowledge, and helps him to understand the way the world works. Again, the theme of belief in self and achieving the impossible is present in this book. Although with fewer metaphors, Illusions presents more questions and ideas than Jonathan did. A very powerful ending.
