Summary: Interesting and Thought-Provoking Read
Review: Approach with an open mind and see where Sylvia's "insight" takes you. Keeping in mind, her extention of traditional religious views into a more extensive acceptance of what "life is like" on the other side, the reader can accept or reject what he cannot absorb into his own set of religious attitudes. It's an interesting book to explore and compare to what "you've been taught."

Summary: Life on the Other Side
Review: Certainly, if one has pre-conceived notions about the other side and "salvation" (E.G. many fundamentalists) then this book will be hard to read.

However, to truly objective/open-minded readers, this book will stand out as one the greatest books ever written.

Many of its teachings are hard to accept but Sylvia gives good reason to accept them, while at the same time encouraging healthy skepticism!

No matter what life brings us, Sylvia says, our beloved ones on the other side are always cheering us on!

When I started reading this book, I noticed a remarkable difference in my physical and emotional health. I began to truly be at peace with life and myself. My best friend cookie---whom I love deeply---also noticed these changes in my state of health/well being.

After reading this book, objective persons will never look at life the same way again!

Summary: Interesting Tour
Review: Though I take everything I hear or, in this case, read with a grain of salt, that doesn't mean I can't enjoy a great read when it comes my way. I'll only know exactly what The Other Side is like when I see it for myself, but it was nice reading Sylvia Browne's account of what things are like over there. Interesting descriptions that help ease the fear of death. c",)

Summary: A good feeling and the ring of Truth.
Review: I've always had a good feeling about Sylvia Browne, and that good feeling carries over to this book. It has a definite ring of truth to it. The idea that we choose our own life path, themes, and challenges before we incarnate sounds especially truthful (we select the challenges that will produce the most growth and spiritual benefit for those around us.) However, if you are like me you may find yourself wondering just what you were thinking to have given yourself this many challenges....
Alot of the criticism of this book seems to center around it being too specific in its details of the other side. The thing to remember is that Browne has been given details and images that were meaningful and graspable for her. Since space and time are very, very diferent on the other side you can count on these specific images just being a mask for the true reality. Yet, upon saying this, I know that I have seen the building she calls the "Hall of Wisdom" in a very vivid dream....
The listing of the 44 life themes in the appendix is also very interesting and useful. You find yourself trying to identify the primary and secondary themes of everyone you know. In my own case I believe that it is #1 Spirituality and #2 Loner.
My only real criticism with the book concerns the discussion of suicide. From my observations the vast majority of suicides are victims- and God would NEVER punish someone that has already been victimized.

Summary: The other sides of life
Review: I have reviewed many books on 'psychic' phenomena and messages from the other side. What put me slightly off this tome is the perpetuation to represent certain of our value (mis-)concepts, such as good and evil, as universally applicable truths.

I particularly disliked the, mercifully short, section on Hitler's (et al.) fate on the other side. Maybe we should explore other possibilities now? In this regard I don't care what any disembodied voice may say about the universe and how it works for 'bad people' - it is and remains simply an opinion, not a god-given truth.

Many readers fail to grasp that those who do communicate with us through the veil have to make do not only with the level of perception of their audiences but also of those who do the transmitting. One might therefore be forgiving that so many subjects in this book reflect our earthbound values, after all these are what we deal with, rather than cosmic insights. We would otherwise not be able to relate. The chosen symbols (the hall of records, etc.) make appearances in many such books. One should never forget though that such a vision could be an impression of purpose; expressing the nature of an event, not necessarily the physical fact of a building.

I think the purpose of such communications is to help us overcome our narrow views, which hamper our own evovlement. Once a good vantage point of open-mindedness is reached we can safely conclude that not all is as we thought it would be. Recommendable is much of the material that is tucked away (see the explanation of eternity by example of a casino).

The measure of good thought is not what you think, but your ability to recognise the means and the intention of what is being communicated to you. And that rule also applies to any spirit message. Being critical of anything remains a must. The only measure of truth that counts is one's own.

On the whole this is a good book for beginners on the subject, who wish to expand their knowledge later. As such it certainly fulfills its role.

Summary: Excellent book!
Review: I recommend this book to everyone. It has helped me eliminate my frustrations in life, as well as, stress. I have lost several loved ones in my life, and no matter how spiritual or religous you are, it is still hard to deal with. But, this book has helped me to deal with it much better now. It helps you realize your purpose here on earth, as well as, why certain things happen in your life.

I won't say much more, because I don't want to ruin it for you, but, you must read this book. It is one of my favorites.

Summary: Life on the Other Side
Review: I had just begun this book when my sisters cancer (after 11 years) took a turn for the worse. I read this while she was fading away and it was such great comfort.

Summary: Good Try
Review: Sylvia Browne at first sounds convincing in telling what happens after death. She explores the "eternal life" of the soul in a more than casual tone. Her "spirit guide"named Francine was one thing, but the buildings and record halls and the rest of what the place looks like, belong more in fiction than what is being marketed here to people like myself after the loss of a loved one. The illustrations are pure fantasy and seem to come staight out of Roman Empire meets new age with a little bit of Escher. Right about chapter five, when the afterlife included precise descriptions of a cushy lifetsyle where it is exactly 78F, no inclement weather ever, etc., the author lost me.

Summary: AMAZING!!
Review: This is not the first book I've read from Sylvia Browne, nor has it been the last. This book very descriptively details what life is like on the "Other Side" (Heaven). It details our soul's purpose here on earth, the many different life lessons we have chosen, our life theme, and our difficulties we may experience and why. It details reincarnation & it's purpose. It answers so many questions that I've found most religions of today can't answer. In this book based on "Gnosticism," it gives you reasons as to why things are the way they are, that all things, all experiences, and all events have purpose and that nothing is just left up to "chance." It explains that our souls have prescripted our lives for us so we may gain greater understanding and knowledge during our journey here on Earth. It very descriptively describes the Other Side, it's physical features, it's landmarks, it's spiritual persons (Angels, The Principalities, The Council, etc.), and our Father and Mother Godheads.

This book is truly mesmerizing!! I wasn't able to put it down, and I finished it with a sense of wanting & needing to know more. I have since went on to read "The Journey of the Soul Series," which even more descriptively describes the meaning of our existence, our purpose, God, and the Other Side. This series is more advanced spiritual reading than "Life On The Other Side" and is a great compliment to it for people wanting to know more.

I'll be honest, if you're not open to the idea of possibly going against what you may have learned in many of the typical organized religions of today, this book may not be for you. But for those who feel there's "just something more out there," and those who are looking for answers, this is a GREAT start at some incredibly spiritual reading!!

Summary: An excellent description of the other side
Review: Sylvia Browne does an excellent job of describing life on the other side. This book goes into much more depth on the other side than her other books. It's a good purchase for anyone who is curious about the afterlife.
