Rating: Summary: This book was laid out very well for the beginner. Review: If this is by far one of the better books. The way it was laid out in lesson chapter was great. Rituals laid out in the book are quite accurate and explained well. One thing i would like to say is that Mr. Kraig may have done well to leave some of his opinions out of the text though. That does make the book more personal as opposed to cold but for a rookie that may not be the best way to go. The rookie needs to be free from opinions and assertions from authors. Not in terms of knowledge just opinion. However im confident that any reader will make his or her own opinions and use this excellent manual as a great source of information. All in all this is a great book.
Rating: Summary: A Must Own Book on Magick Review: This book was absolutely essential in my understanding of Magick and how to actually practice it. Kraig teaches how to make the ritual tools, perform the basic Golden Dawn rituals (LBRP, BRH, etc..) and perform magickal operations like pathworking, invocation, evocation and talismans.
Rating: Summary: For new students beginning to studying Ceremonial Magic Review: This single book will get any new student up and running with PRACTICAL work in Ceremonial Magic. Understand before you buy this book, that it is for the study of CEREMONIAL MAGIC. If you are looking for Witchcraft or New Age ..., this book will not satisfy you (although it does contain some elements of both). I would give this work 5 stars, but there are too many deviations from the traditional Golden Dawn material. I am a purist. If you say you are going to present Golden Dawn techniques, then don't alter the content of it. Present it as it was meant to be. However, if this book is used in conjunction with Regardies' "The Golden Dawn" * AND * the Ciceros' "Self-Initiation", you will have the ability to check the differences and make any corrections that are necessary.
Rating: Summary: Probably the best book I've seen for introduction into Magic Review: This book is one of those rareties that find their ways into publication. It contains not only information pertinent to the beginner but also the informed advanced practitioner of High Magick. Mr. Kraig has condensed years of research and practical information into one book that sublimely and succinctly relates the practical use of magick into the reader's life. I for one would not be where I am today if it were not for Mr. Kraig's excellent advice and easy-to-read book. Modern Magick is one of those books which any serious magician should have on his/her shelf. Adieu.
Rating: Summary: Ceremonial Magick! Uwah! Review: Ceremonial Magick at its best, or from what few books I've seen on the shelves about it. Mr. Kraig explains a lot of things to-the-point, and even though I seem to feel he's showing a must-explain-everything air, I seem to realize he does that FOR A REASON: he doesn't want to leave the readers in the dark. The Tarot, Quabalah, and much more is covered within. Love it!
Rating: Summary: Great book for all Review: after years of practicing, I think this book is great for all. It is a must have for every library.
Rating: Summary: good rescource book Review: he does try to answer everything but more he throws out different questions you might have so maybe you can realize for yourself the inner knowledge and answer it for yourself he has the most accurate works in this book and I felt trust right away from reading and studying it.This covers a wide range of different backgrounds which honestly you need to know so you know what your dealing with.this book teaches you how to be true to yourself and have a balanced love for everything!I've have been studying this book for the last 3 years, and of course I study others as well but this one guides you so you may pick your path and feel at home with it.I reccomend to anyone of the magickal arts.love, life and light
Rating: Summary: This is "the book" that your looking for! Review: I have seen "many" people who are just beginning to explore the pagan world jump into chat rooms to find answers to questions only to come back bruised and befuddled. Modern Magick answers these questions and provides a course of study which alone is informative, and if followed will move you spiritually higher and allow you to expand as a person and spirit. Nothing in this book should harm you. Before I read Modern Magick other books on magick were impossible to understand. I feel it is a must.
Rating: Summary: Not too well, but good enough. Review: The man tries to answer every question, thinking that he can answer everything and do everything all by himself. Nothing is done all by the magician alone! Furthermore, the man attempts to install his own philisophy unto others, which I utterly disregard.
Rating: Summary: Great so far Review: I just got this book as a holiday gift so I just started to read it. I feel so far that this is one book that ANYONE who is interested in studying witchcraft, rituals, etc. should have. It would be impossible for any one person to know EVERYTHING about magick and the craft but this is a GREAT start.
