Rating: Summary: Great For Beginners & Adepts Alike Review: I've had this book for a few years now, and I've never ceased coming back to it. The information in the book is very facinating, and even those who have seriously studied for several years may find it useful. It also provides an excellent introduction for the beginner and for the most part is _very_ easy to follow. Step-by-step instructions on creating talismans, your alter, and various other tools. Even though I disagreed a little with the author's personal images, I would still very much recommend this to anybody interested in this amazing path.
Rating: Summary: A good intro to Ceremonial Magick Review: This book is a good introduction and explanation of Ceremonial Magick. Everything is laid out precisely and clearly, and by reading it, I became absolutely sure that Ceremonial Magick was NOT the path for me. But I came to understand the mindset and the practices of the ceremonial magickian by reading this very accessible and user friendly book. It contains some very good explanations of practices that every practitioner of magick, whether Ceremonial or not, can use, and is very helpful as a reference even if, like me, you choose not to walk the challenging path of Ceremonial Magick. A worthwhile book. I would like to add to the young lady who wished to use this book to "cast spells" on her ex-boyfriend: there is such a thing as the Law of Three, which states that you will get back three times over whatever energy you send out. I suppose you will learn from experience what magickal backlash is all about. Enjoy the lesson.
Rating: Summary: too educational, not enough spells Review: I bought this book, expecting some good manipulating spells, and instead I found a lot of educational bull. This book is worthless. I'm Satanic, and I wanted a few spells to hurt my ex boyfriend and his friends. Don't buy this book!
Rating: Summary: A TRULY COMPLETE course in High Magick!! Review: This is truly an amazing book. That's all there is to it! I suppose I can be a bit more detailed, though. This book is a beautifully done textbook on High Magick for the Neophyte to the Adept. Anyone with Spiritual and Magickal interests will find this book invaluable as a learning (and teaching) tool.
Rating: Summary: words cannot describe how powerful and true this book is. Review: This book takes every detail and care to guide you on a journey to wisdom and enlightenment. I can only hope that many other people's lives are influenced by this book for the better. I know it changed my life!
Rating: Summary: The best I know Review: I have studied magick for more than twelve years now, and this is THE BEST book on the subject I have ever come across. It is the most comprehensive, orderly and precise book one could get on the subject. Kraig mentions in his foreword that once you buy this book you wont need to buy any other book on the subject, and I agree totally with him. The other books I had before and have gotten after are just manuals, reference books or informative reading about certain specialized topics treated in a general way in this book. Nothing beats this one.
Rating: Summary: Modern Magick, It saved my life!!! Review: Im not gonna make this too long but the darkness within is no match for the white magick within this book. I never feel threatened by the un known any more, and the more anti-social side of me is gone, or controled any way. I have expanded my horizons because of this book, and anyone who is looking for a beggining to their path would do well to buy, read, and practice the powerful rituals in this book! They are detailed and the author knows exactly what hes talking about, unlike those other, wanna be occult books out there. All in all its very good reading. Even to those who practice NO magick, you may find your self Calling the watch towers after reading this book through. Id suggest you get a hold of this book before its out of print. So long, Peace be to you all.
Rating: Summary: An MAGNIFICENT book on high magick Review: It is the best starter book I have read yet.It is an excellent introduction to magick for beginners.
Rating: Summary: this is one of the few books on magick I can tolerate Review: excellent book for all paths. here is an oppurtunity to learn from a teacher who is honest and modest about personal preference. he gives you the tools and lets you make up your own mind. LOVED IT!!!!
Rating: Summary: complete and unbiased Review: Kraig is not limited by the Ego factor which seems to plague the field. Nor does he claim to have All the Knowledge. This book is a bible for the serious student who wishes to practice what s/he has read. Warning: if your Cheese Alarms go off due to the cover art, do not be alarmed. I'm sure Mr. Kraig had nothing to do with it. If you want something like this but more advanced and less explanatory, try "Circles of Power" by John Michael Greer.
