Rating: Summary: Great book on Qabalistic practices for an overview! Review: Not any one book can cover a practice compleatly but this book will definatly get you started in Qabalistic work. Verry specific with the instructions, and easy to understand! For those unfamiliar with the subject, this is not cerimonial magic, nor is it earth magic, although it has elements of both. This system draws from many books that were refrenced in the writing of the old testement, and yet maintains a respect for nature and the equility of men and women. Even the most staunch earth magicians and cerimonial magicians find most of the concepts agreeable, and interesting.
Rating: Summary: This is the best book on this subject that i have found Review: I have many books on this topic and of all of these, this is the most consise and understandable one on the market. It is written in such a way that it is not at all demanding of the reader to do anything that it describes. Not only does it tell you how to do the rituals but it gives a historical explination as to how it came about. The other thing that I liked is that he did not claim that this is the only correct way to do the rituals, I myself use some variations in them.
Rating: Summary: Truly a required book for anyone new or experianced Review: This is truly the greatest book I have ever read on Kabalistic magick. Kraig puts all the information needed to begin or advance study of the ways of magick in a way that anyone could understand. This book explains everything from amulet construction, to spirit evocation. I am a 16 yr. old Adeptus Minor and I found this book to be the easiest to follow book on magick I have read. (Great price too!)
Rating: Summary: The best book for those who are starting their journey... Review: This book is excelent. It was the first book I read when I started to learn the ways of Magick and it has given me great insight into what goes into magick and how to attain you potential.
Rating: Summary: HELIONS Recommendation Review: HELIONS - this is one of our standard texts and we would recommend this book to any beginner in High Magic. It is well written and easy to follow.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Primer! Review: Modern Magick is one of the best books EVER written on Magick and Occultism. It's lesson structure is safe, easy-to-follow and gives one a wide variety of paths with which to try--Pagan, High Magickal (which is the primary focus), Qabalistic, Tantric, Biblical, etc. etc. I would recommend this book for EVERYONE, even non-practitioners.
Rating: Summary: DMKraig is the Scott Cunningham of High Magick! Review: Kraig is a well written author and this book speaks volumes about his teaching ability! He understands the subject so well he does not have to resort to technobable and instead speaks about High Magick in plain english. I have recommended this book to every magickal practioner I know. Even those who did not know they were going to be magicians. If you want MAGICKAL POWER the excersises in this book will lead you to it...it is up to you to follow through and do them. This I know from experience. Kraig has a balanced perspective on magick, which seems to be a rarity these days. This is a system that works. I was not an exceptionally experienced student when I found this book, but I am now...because of what Kraig taught me. I have not used all that is contained within these pages, but it is worth your while to take the time to read some of these things just for the knowledge. I have been able to tell numbers of people how to get rid of pesky spirits from their ! home, through use of this book. Thank you DMK for writing such a simple and practical book.
Rating: Summary: Direct and Demystifying Review: In an enjoyably readable style, Donald M. Kraig provides a stripped-down, bare-bones approach to the practice of ceremonial magic. Shoving dogma and doctrine aside, he provides an eminently practical guide to getting started in high magic. The material itself is largely based on the Golden Dawn-style Qabalistic approach to magic, with references to Crowley, Enochian magic and Tantra. Also included are bibliographies at the end of each chapter, and an annotated bibliography at the end of the book. Worth the cover price, as a sourcebook alone. A few minor etymological errors are the book's only fault. Otherwise, it is easily the best introduction to the actual practice of magic on the market.
Rating: Summary: This is an exellent book. Review: For anyone who seek knowledge, this is truly a great book! This was one of my first book on magick and I still use it to this day, 6 years later... For the author speak as if he was right before the reader. Those who intend to learn the basics will surely want to grab this potent book.
Rating: Summary: Excellent!! Review: This book is amazing! The author writes so you understand, and he writes so interesting that you keep reading the book until you have finnished it. I have read it 5 times and It's one of my favorite books. I can strongly recommend this book to people that want to learn Kabbalah and Western Occultism...once again, this book is EXCELLENT!!!
