Rating: Summary: Ah always luv a good ol' bout o' entuhTAINment! Review: And I mean the reviews. Okay, I can't say whether magick is physical or not. We neuroscience majors tend to view the human brain as something that has awesome potential but used very rarely. Magick is just a way of focusing those abilities. Simple as that not able to be proved or disproved. Now, as for The Necronomicon and The Necronomicon Spellbook. Ever heard of HP Lovecraft? Fantastic man. Wonderful writer. All around kook. And someone I'd love to have as a nextdoor neighbor. He wrote this torrid little tome. As a work of FICTION. I wonder if he ever thought it would get this far? Oh well. People believe what they want to get the desired results. If this book works, more power to ya. I won't stand in your way. I have a tendency to work on my levitation abilities. Not that I have any yet, but I have a great meditation technique from my great-grandmother and grandpa swore she could fly. Love my Gypsy family. Moral of this review is: Don't take everything too seriously. Have fun.
Rating: Summary: excellent text on spell working Review: This is an excellent book on the working of spells. Simon gives the fifty names of Marduk as a basis for the working of spells. The spells are easy to work with and do not require exotic ingredients and other hard to find material. This book uses spells instead of evocative magick, which can be dangerous if you dont know what you are doing. This book is NOT a work of fiction, nor is the Necronomicon. These are dangerous books if you dont know what you are doing. I strongly suggest one read a primer on magick first such as Kraigs book, Modern Magick to get grounded in theory and practice. This book is not for armchair magicians. It is for those who seriously want to explore the limitless powers of the human mind. It is claimed that these books are fiction, but no fictional work can give real results. This spellbook works and it works very well. Dont get mixed up with it as a joke. This is serious stuff.
Rating: Summary: Beware ! Review: This book is a very real, and it uses are many as well as extensive. It has been stated many times before you react and take on a challenge know what its eats or it will eat you. Yes I have used this book and will never again. Its powerful and it is fast acting. It has been my experience that you will see almost immediate turn around with the use of the seals. USe it only unce per night or during a full moon. The spirits summoned are extreamly potent and draw to themselves further nasties if it is used repetativly during one session. DONT DO IT! A new addition should be in the works that include FULL understanding of the language before the seals are invoked. Dont be greedy in the use of these seals, they will hunt you !!!!
Rating: Summary: a good book for many purposes Review: This book is a great companion to Simons Necronomicon.I use it because I dont have the time in my life to commit to the larger rituals in the Necronomicon.I have used the book many times with fairly good results, so if u dont have a lot of time (many months to pass thru all of the gates) then this is a good book to do rituals out of, but u should buy and read the Neconomicon, just to get a good history lesson out of it.And PS this ISNT the work of Crowley so dont expect it to be.
Rating: Summary: Sumerian Magick Illustrated Review: "Necronomicon Spellbook" is very terse, and does _not_ provide sufficient background to understand Sumerian magick. Author Ed Simon's "Necronomicon" (ASIN 0380751925) is a better reference for those wishing to understand Sumerian magick.IMO the chief use of the "Necronomicon Spellbook" is providing glyph illustrations for tattoo artists.

Rating: Summary: Belief Review: There seem to be two different types of reviews of all Necronomicon books. One is that it is faked, and the book was nothing more than a literary device of HP Lovecraft. The other is that it obviously isn't faked, and that anyone who has worked the ritual contained in the book(s) would know that it is the real McCoy (or is that the real McThulu). My position is that the spark in any magical, mystical, religious, or (for that matter) political system is belief. If you believe that you are summoning these creatures and gods then you are, at least in the mind. Syncronicities will follow, and evidence will present itself to confirm the reality that has been selected. The Necromonicon works as well as any Wiccian, Crowlean, or Satanic spell as long as the person working it beleives enough to throw themselves into it. I can also say the samething of prayer and faith healing. Use it, but beware of the dark mist, the distant drums, and the shadows of tenticals outside your window when you are alone!
Rating: Summary: Evil Marketing Review: What a load of bull flop! I'm glad I never purchased this book. It's just selections from the full Necronomicon, made to make a dollar. And, its still not real, and it's not very Lovecraft.
Rating: Summary: A Realm for the Serious Review: I have been practicing witchcraftn for almost 10 years, I started to read the Necronomicon book and spell book. This book from picking it up is an intense look into summoning powers from a past that not many people know about. For those who think that this is a joke and not for real, by all means do not buy it! The spells are mentally stessful on a novice mind and are dangerous to those who have never done a spell in their life. If curiousity does bring you to this book, I suggest one reads Mastering Witchcraft by Paul Huson or books about the Dark Arts. This is exceptionally written, a definite must if one wishes to take the next step in their power.
Rating: Summary: Who cares if it's fake... Review: It seems a lot of people think that just because something is fake, it is of no use. This is just not true, if you want to use it, use it! Sure, it might not be as powerful or effective as summoning ancient Gods which have been invoked for millenia, but if you like the idea of the fictional creatures listed in the Necronomicon, use them anyway..
