Summary: Excellent reading
Review: The entire "The Work and the Glory" series is absolutely excellent. The author has placed fictional characters into true historical events in the history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, yielding a book that is both highly entertaining and educating. He has gone above and beyond the call of duty in researching his subject, providing detailed accounts of what is true, what is fictional, and the sources from which his research is derived. Anyone interested in pioneer life will love this series. I generally do not enjoy reading, but I could not put these books down. There are 9 volumes in the series, and I read them all in two months! Truly excellent literature.

Summary: Justin's Great Book
Review: The Work and The Glory: A Pillar of Light is the first in a series of books that tells how the Mormon Church was organized. It is told through a fictional family, the Steeds. This family goes through many tribulations and hardships because of their membership in the Church. The Steeds are friends with some of the key people in the organization of the Mormon Church.
I really liked this book becuase it is very exciting, and always captivating. Gerald N. Lund is a great author, and is very good at making a boring subject into and exciting novel. I would recommend this book to anyone of any age.

Review: This book was beyond compare to any other book that I have ever read!!! It carries you step by step through the joy, pain, and struggling of the pioneers' lives. It has taught me many things about true love and virtue, but most of all, it has helped me to see that I would do anything for my church--The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I know with all of my heart that my religion is true!
