Rating: Summary: One of the best decks I've used Review: I have been reading Tarot for two years now, beginning with the standard Rider-Waite deck...over the years I have collected many tarot decks in a search to find the deck I worked best with...Legend is it.The artwork is exquisite, beautifully detailed watercolors that immediately capture the attention of the viewer. To help the inexperienced reader, the book "Keeper of Words" is included in the deck, a well written, thoroughly researched guide to reading Legend. In addition to black and white reproductions of each card accompanying a explanation of its meaning, there is also a short history of each character depicted on the cards. I liked the way each card was dedicated to a different and fitting character in the Legend of King Arthur. I found the deck easy to work with and pleasant to look at. I even like just taking out the guide and reading it. The book explains everything so well and it's also very informative as to Arthurian History. I gave the deck a 10.
Rating: Summary: My 1st Deck and it is perfect for me. Review: I have to start by saying this is my first attempt at learning the Tarot and I have had 100% success so far. From a young age I felt connected emotionally with the legends of King Arthur and have read and studied the legends for a decade. When I saw there was a Tarot deck dedicated to the legends I had to own it whether it was helpful as a tool or not. But as I have learned the cards speak to me and often I am able to read them accurately without the help of the book, just by looking at the symbolism in the cards and with my knowledge of the legends. I have given about 10 readings, all of which (that have met their resolution) have so-far been proven accurate. I do not feel that I am a great reader..but the cards really seem to bring it out in me. Picking a deck I feel is a very personal thing and not all decks will work for everyone. You definitely get out of it what you put into it and this deck really works for me.

Rating: Summary: The magician Merlin Review: I just rated this deck 3 stars because I have not used it yet, but answer to the critique of only using Merlin as the magician and that this not answer to the trickster part of the magician card: Besides being a magician in that Merlin used power, he was also a trickster, almost the court-jester of Arthur. A reference to that is also made in the book '78 cards of wisdom' both in the Rider-Waite explentaion of the fool and the magician.

Rating: Summary: A good deck only if you like the legends of king Arthur. Review: I'm reading tarot for well over a year, and own a large number of decks, and this deck is one of my *least* favourite. The main reason is that I have no special interest in the legends of king Arthur, so as good as the book is, having to study the legends and characters by heart is a burden for me. The other reason is that I think superimposing the legends and characters on the cards *limits* their meanings. I'll give two examples : - The Wheel of Forune card shows Arthur on the wheel, specically on it's top. The text in the book and the picture limit it's meaning to that of luck and fortune with a tilt to good fortune. Though this is an important aspect of the card, it misses the message of finding one's center in the turmoil of life. - The Magician card features Merlin. Though this is the natural way to picture this card in the deck, I think it misses the 'low' aspect of the card (the one of the trickster). The art is beutiful, though I think it's somewhat dark and colourless.
Rating: Summary: The only deck I ever burned Review: If you're interested in starting out in tarot, this is a great set to get you underway. I had bought a few decks in the past, but could never really get started reading with them. Most just didn't call out to me. Then I bought this deck, and haven't looked back since. The artwork on the cards is expressive and gorgeous. Plus, besides the interpretation of each card, you are treated to a brief rendition of the myth associated with that card. I found this to be an exceptional aid in my initial work with the cards. If you're someone who can't quite tune in with the symbolism of Rider-Waite decks, this is a great buy. If you're also captivated by the Arthurian legends and middle ages, then this is A MUST HAVE!

Rating: Summary: truely spectaclar deck, best I have seen Review: In the 5 years I have been reading Terot cards, I have seen many different decks, but this is leaps and bounds ahead of all I have seen. The Artwork is so intricately detailed, and the subjects chosen for each card match so well with the meanings of the cards that reading this deck is easy enough for a begining reader, and detailed enough for those who are more practiced at the art. The accompanying book gives such wonderful background information on the Arthurian legends that I often read it just for the stories it contains. If you have even the slightest interest in terot reading or the myths of King Arthur, I say buy this deck. You won't be disapointed.
