Rating: Summary: Well Written Historical Novel Review: This was a most interesting book. It starts us on a journey through the family of Drew Morgan. Which journey will end seven books later. The writing was good, the story well thought out, the characters mostly believable, and the history fairly accurate. If you like historical fiction, then you should try this series on for size.
Rating: Summary: Great Christian fiction Review: What a great book. Not only did it have action and romance, but it was inspiring. But the best part was the fictional character of Drew Morgan, who started out with no knowledge of Christ, to a strong, dedicated Christian. It is nice to have fiction that has a meaning and is hard to put down. This book has both!

Rating: Summary: History, suspense, drama, and romance come alive! Review: You don't think that you can learn anything from fictional books? Think again..."The Puritans" is the first in a series written by Jack Cavanaugh that is not only extremely well written, but it is full of accurate historical facts and characters. "The Puritans" begins the Morgan family saga in England. Drew Morgan finds himself involved with spying for Bishop Laud. (I am a history major and had never heard of Bishop Laud until I read this book. I looked him up in my encyclopedia, and sure enough, he was real!) This novel is full of excitement, romance, mystery, and history. The reader gains a better understanding of the lives and struggles of the Puritans in England and their flight to America. I could not help but become emotionally tied to the heores and heroines of the book, and therefore I experienced their joys and tears with them. Mr. Cavanaugh is a truly gifted author. The reading is easy to absorb and hard to put down. He is very descriptive and broad in his vocabulary without being too wordy or drawn-out. "The Puritans" sets the stage well for the other books in the series, and leaves the reader wanting more.
