Summary: Excellent storytelling
Review: Half Apolloite Cassandra is with her friends and her bodyguard when the Daimons arrive. They recognize her and go after the kill because they believe that her death will free them from the curse that has forced them to either die or become vampires. However, Wulf a dark hunter arrives and kills the Daimons. Afterward he and Cassandra kiss, but he leaves because his curse is that no one except his blood remembers him five minutes after he leaves.

Cassandra forgets Wulf until she shares exotic dreams with him. She begins to remember the dark hunter who saved her life and the advice of her deceased mother to avoid that deadly species. To his chagrin the first person outside his nephew and his peers who remembers him is from a species he has pledged to kill. Making it worse is that this duo falls in love sharing not only their respective species, but the gods of several Pantheons.

Sherrilyn Kenyon's latest Dark Hunter tales is a superb romantic fantasy that has the extra twist of the hero's plight that is great for one night stands, but very lonely. The story line is the ultimate star-crossed lovers theme as a warm loving relationship between the lead couple will probably result in the wrath of Gods. The support cast, especially his nephew and his New Orleans based peer and her Amazonian bodyguard, add depth to a fine story. Those sub-genre readers tasting their first Dark Hunter novel will seek the previous winners.

Summary: lovin every minute of it
Review: Wonderful series! I'm always wondering from one book to the next, who will be the hero... I loved the flip flop from all Daimens are bad guys to not all Daimens are bad guys. I also love the underlying mystery of Ash and his ties to Artemis. The auther gives Artie human traits that make you want to root for her as the next heroine. I'm dying to know Ash's true feelings for her... does he hate her and tolerate her or is there an underlying love. Artie is always stirring up trouble, and notice that Ash always cleans up her mess? She's jealous that Ash has love for Simi, but not for her... Maybe all the trouble is her way of keeping Ash by her side to "make" him love her.

By the way, who is Kat? The Abadonna? At first, I wondered if she wasn't Artemis in disguise. The author does a great job of suspensful, wait for the next sequel, writing.

Summary: Amazing, couldn't put it down
Review: This is the first book that I've ever read by Ms. Kenyn, and now I own the whole series.. her charicterization was amazing, the pacing and plot ideas are absolutely brilliant.. What I would give to be saved by a man like Wulf.

Summary: Had high hopes, but.....
Review: To agree with someone's review earlier, out of all of the Dark-Hunter books, this was my least favourite. It was because of the hero and heroine not for the plot or events which would have been AMAZING had Wulf or Cassandra appealed to me at all. Yes, Cassandra can kick-arse physically but these days seeing as so many TV or book heroines are described as arse-kicking, it didn't really impress me or give an added depth to her just because she had this one skill. Her personality also was irritating and boringly repetitive, showing none of the sass and surprises and hidden conflicts that Sherri every other time has mastered in her heroines. Wulf was slightly better and his resentment of his father was simple, clear and concise, yet still needling the heart. The frustration and hurt of no-one ever remembering him was good too. My problem with him was not too big, just that he didn't jump off the page as much as the other Dark-Hunters, but to be fair, that's more a matter of comparison and maybe expecting too much than just reviewing him on his own.
Now to the good parts! As always, the supporting characters are PHENOMENAL and more often than not more intriguing than the mains! Chris as the prickly but shy over-protected nephew is truly a welcome relief, and evasive as Kat is and as huge as all the questions are that she poses, makes her way more deserving to be the heroine. Urian and Phoebe are a much more compelling couple due to his status and what they are, and it's like an old friend has returned when previous Dark-Hunter heroes join the fray, even for a few pages. For all those who worry, Simi's not even annoying in this one! Ash returns of course, and again leaves us ripping out our hair with the questions he doesn't answer, but hey, what else have we come to expect?!
For all those looking for the love scenes, they are short and I find not as steamy as the ones Sherri can usually roll out, more of the action revolves around Cassandra's impending deadline(!) and why they shouldn't be together, blah, blah, blah. Unfortunately, things happen TO them, not because of them, which I believe is the reason why Night Pleasures, Night Embrace and Dance with the Devil work so, so very well!
Two stars lost because of Cassandra and Wulf's banality, three stars because the plot is so deliciously conflicting and the UNREAL supporting characters! Can't wait for Night Play!

Summary: Dreaming of Dark Hunters
Review: I LOVED this book. I appreciate a true kick you know what female and this book had two of them who were role models if ever there were one or two. Wulf was sexy and fun. I really liked the vulnerable side of him when he was with Cassandra and Chris. He was alpha and at the same time, he wasn't stupid about it. Likewise Cassandra wasn't the typical romance heroine who is so independent that she does something stupid to prove herself to the hero only to cause him to have to save her.

Even more than that, I loved the whole Destroyer scenes. They were spooky. I never knew what Stryker would do next. And then there was Urian who took my breath away. Yow! I hope we have more stories about him and Kat too.

I am in love with the Dark Hunters. I just wish they were real.

Summary: Vampires at their best
Review: I admit I am a huge fan of the Dark Hunters. I love Vikings and have been waiting for this book forever. I wasn't disappointed. I devoured it in a few hours and have read it four times since then. Most writers tend to run stale after a few books, but Kenyon never does. I like the variety of the heroes and the kick butt attitudes of the women. If you haven't tried a Dark Hunter yet, you have to. You won't be sorry. I just hope Urian gets a book soon and I can't wait to see what happens between Ash, the Destroyer and Styker. Sherrilyn, please write Ash's book soon.

Summary: Sexy, suspenseful, and entertaining BUT ........
Review: ....... could SK ever out-do her most triumphant novel "dance with the devil"?

No, I'm afraid not .... now don't think that I'm 'dissing' SK here! This is a really great book BUT it doesn't out-do "dance
with the devil" (in my estimation the best of the Dark Hunter series yet)!

Kiss of the night is the fast paced, suspenseful, sexy story of Wulf and Cassandra but I feel it lacks the emotional intensity SK portrayed in "dance with the devil" .... I want to say, at this point, that doesn't mean it is a bad story only that it is different! Wulf and Cassandra's story is more upbeat and less intense .... it made me laugh out loud at times, but never made me feel so emotionally attached to either Cassandra or Wulf that I wanted to cry at any point ... some people may find this more appealing than an emotionally intense story - I dare you to read both ... you won't be disappointed in either but you will understand what I mean about the books been totally incomparable!

How could I possibly give SK's books anything less than a 4+? It's not a possibility, so I gave this baby a 5! I think if you've enjoyed SK's books to date, you'll enjoy this one too ..... if this is your first SK novel then just know that it's not her best in this series (eg it is a must that you read "dance with the devil").

Summary: needed more
Review: I know that I'm in the minority, but I found this book not close to the other books. I found the constant "I'm dying" tiresome.

I loved her other books and yes, I'll buy her next one. But I can't give this one but 3 stars. I felt it needed more action and more insight into the characters.

Summary: Good read.
Review: With with newest installment of the Dark-Hunter series, Kenyon keeps building up the series and adding more complexity and backdrop to the Hunter world she has created.

The characters, Cassandra (a Half-Apollite) and Wulf (a Dark-Hunter) are both well played off in this book. Cassandra is strong, humorous and more than able to fend for herself, you are synphatetic to her character. Wulf is good also, but after a while you get tired of the "leather-clad" heroes all the time.

The storyline, pace and dialogue we well done, however, there were many unanswered questions in this book, not so much with secondary characters, they obviously will be back in other books but questions about the main characters themselves. How did Wulf lose his soul? Who possesses it in the end? How were they exchanged? This is why I gave it 4 stars.

But all in all, a good read. The series continues strong.

Summary: Faster. Sexier. Deadlier.
Review: Sherrilyn Kenyon's Kiss of the Night opens with a fascinating tale of Atlanteans and the evolution of the Apollites - and how the jealousy of goddess Apolloymi propels Apollo to curse the Apollites, condemning them to a life expectancy of 27 years. The last descendant of Apollo, 26-year old Cassandra Peters prepares herself for death until she meets Dark Hunter Wulf Tryggvason - who leads a solitary existence with his squire Chris. Wulf is her destined soul mate and when Cassandra becomes impregnated during a "dream mating", she is struggling to stay alive for her child as the evil Daimons and Destroyer Stryker hunts them down. Ms. Kenyon's fantasy world is blooming with imagination - and enriched with textured characters. Secondary characters like Talon, guardian Kat and even villains like Stryker and his son Urian are larger than life. Ms. Kenyon sculpts the characters with honesty and emotions, bringing to life a beautiful series that speaks volumes about love and redemption. The best thing is, Ms. Kenyon refuses to wax schmaltz upon readers even though some sex scenes may be over-indulgent. The dialogue, full of "Sex and the City" spunk and wry humour accelerates the pacing of the story to a frenetic one, faster than we can say - "More, please." Kiss of the Night is one hell of a ride with its breakneck speed.
