Summary: GREAT PIECE OF WORK FROM MS. HOWARD
Review: While many romance authors have perpetuated the advancing into suspense genre, it is fortunate that Linda Howard chooses to integrate romance and suspense together. Her trademark sensuality sparks passion and it is not surprising that HEART OF FIRE continues her legacy in romantic suspense. Linda Howard creates memorable characters and with Jillian Sherwood and Ben Lewis - two of the most compelling characters, their chemistry takes centrestage as they are thrown together in the search of the lengendary ruby in the Lost City. Ms. Howard shows a penchant for creating effervescence in the dialogue that enlivens the mood. Jillian is intelligent and feisty but beneath the stoic exterior lies a woman who is hurt and lost with the death of her father.

In the expedition, guide Ben Lewis finds himself intrigued and all mixed up by the stimulation of sex and love for her. Their escapade scorches and Ben has to ultimately learn to love and commit himself. Along the way, emotional intrigues matched by a rollercoaster of subplots of treachery and family drama are showcased with rousing narrative. Ben finds himself that love for this frustrating Jillian will take preeminence even it costs him the ruby...

HEART OF FIRE is engaging and invigorating - it reminds me of Romancing the Stone with more panache and passion. You will laugh, you will cry and finally sigh with gratifcation after this book.

Summary: Loved It!
Review: This is one of Linda Howard's best! The plot was a wonderful, fast-moving Amazon adventure. The snappy dialogue between Ben & Jillian was hilarious. The romance was steamy (as was the jungle!). What more could I ask from a book? Maybe a sequel?

Summary: Woow
Review: Even though I don't read romance books that often, i have to admit this one was kewl. I used to belief romantic books were about some barbaric men using women, and calling it love, while the heroes are empty headed females who cry at the slightest thing. But this one had a very strong female character who had her own mind. I loved both of the characters and laughed at the struggle Ben had to go through to get Jillian. This the third book by Linda Howard I have read, and I enjoyed them all with the exception of A Game of Chance.

Summary: Better as it went on
Review: I agree with another reviewer -- when I first started reading this I thought it was pretty far-fetched. But, I got into it. It was fun and the main characters had a lot of chemistry between them -- the flirting and teasing was very well written and in the end enjoyed this book very much.

Summary: Hearts of Fire
Review: I have long been a Linda Howard fan, but Heart of Fire is my favorite. The dialogue between Ben and Jillian keeps the book moving at a quick pace. The comment that Ben makes at the end of page 136 was witty and funny, sounds just like a man. Give me some chuckles. I would love to hear how Ben and Lillian have fared by hearing about them in some future book, and was relutant to have the book end. This is a "keeper" and one to take out and re-read time and again.

Summary: Heart of Fire
Review: I have just recently began reading Linda Howard novel's. I've read several of her books and enjoyed them a great deal. When I first read the review for "Heart of Fire" I thought that the storyline was a little far fetched. But, I decided to read it anyhow. I was glad that I did. I couldn't put this book down. It turned out to be one of the best books that I've read by Ms. Howard thus far. Keep up the good work Linda!

Summary: A wonderful, entertaining book for a stay at home day.
Review: I believe that this book was very well written. It keep the reader coming back for more. I was not able to put this book down, and even had to go and buy my own copy. The woman in this book was so strong in everyway, i really enjoyed the banter between here and the hero. You could not have asked for a better hero, he was sexy smart and very male. Great book for anyone that enjoys romance at its best, even in the Amazon jungle (which I believe made this book even better than regular setting.)
