Rating: Summary: FUNNY, SEXY ROMP Review: Imagine a tiny female wielding a can of hairspray at her "stalker", bring him to the ground..........this is what happened to Police Det. Joe Shanahan while he was following Gabrielle Breedlove...police had reason to believe that she and her antique store partner, Kevin, stole a Monet painting and were going to sell it on the black market....... This book had wonderful, witty dialogue ..... however, I honestly didn't care for Joe's character....,he's not one I ever would have been attracted to, especially with his raunchy mouth...In spite of that, I found myself laughing outloud many times while reading it......It had cute one liners, energetic characters, good storyline, and quite a "sexy" read.....I'm sure this will appeal more to the younger, more liberal-minded readers..
Rating: Summary: IT MUST BE LOVE WAS... SIMPLY RESISTABLE Review: FIRST LET ME SAY I READ IT MUST BE LOVE IN ONE DAY AND I LAUGHED OUT LOUD DURING SEVERAL OF THE DIALOGUE SCENES (MUCH TO THE CHAGRIN OF MY FELLOW PASSENGERS ON THE LEX AVE. #4 TRAIN),... HOWEVER, THIS WAS NOT THE BEST OF MS. GIBSON. IT MUST BE LOVE SEEMED TO BE MISSING SOMETHING IN THE PLOT AND CHARACTERS THAT HER FIRST 2 BOOKS HAD IN SPADES. I FELT AS IF SHE WERE IN A RUSH TO WRITE IT AND THAT SHE HAD ALMOST NO FUN IN COMING UP WITH THINGS FOR THE CHARACTERS TO DO. I LIKED JOE AND REALLY LIKED GABRIELLE BUT THERE WAS NO REAL SPARK BETWEEN THE TWO OF THEM AND WHILE THE PLOTS IN SIMPLY IRRESISTABLE AND TRULY, MADLY PLAYED OUT OVER SEVERAL MONTHS, I FOUND THE IDEA OF JOE AND GABRIELLE FALLING IN LOVE IN ABOUT 2 WEEKS A BIT OF A STRETCH. MS. GIBSON ALSO TOTALLY ABANDONED THE INTERESTING PLOTLINE WITH JOE'S FAMILY AND BY THE LAST 1/3 OF THE BOOK IT FELT AS IF THEY HAD BECOME AN ANOMALY. AND FINALLY MY BIGGEST DISAPOINTMENT WITH "IT MUST BE LOVE" WAS THE LACK OF (WHAT I THINK IS NOW MS GIBSON'S TRADEMARK) ROMANTIC, SCORCHING HOT, LOVEMAKING DESCRIPTIVES. MS. GIBSON CERTAINLY HAS THE KNACK AND SHOULD BOTTLE HER ABILITY TO SERVE UP SOME OF THE MOST INTENSE SENSUAL WRITING AND GET IT TRADEMARKED; HER ONLY PROBLEM IN THIS BOOK WAS THAT SHE HIT US WITH IT NEAR THE END OF THE BOOK AT PAGE 291. IN ANY EVENT, MS. GIBSON WILL REMAIN ON MY KEEPER SHELF AND I HOPE HER SENIOR EFFORT IS BETTER.
Rating: Summary: It Must Be Love Review: LOVED IT! I really enjoy the way Rachel Gibson brings the characters to life. I started this book on Friday and couldn't put it down till I finished it Sunday. Can hardly wait for the next book!
Rating: Summary: A must READ! Review: What can I say. This book was one of the best I have read in a long time. The characters were real and funny. The sex was hot hot hot! The dialoge had me laughing out loud. I didn't want it to end. Rachel Gibson is on the top of my list. Can't wait to read her other books. Not sure if anything can top this one. It was great!
Rating: Summary: Good Review: I enjoyed this book but nearly as much as her others. If this had been my first Gibson book, I probably would have given it four stars. It just entertain me as much as the others. I liked Joe and Gabrielle. I didn't even mind the New Age stuff. I did think that the resolution was lacking. Would Joe have sought her out if she hadn't shown up at the party? I was not convinced.
Rating: Summary: I love this book! Review: this is the first book i have read by Rachel Gibson and I can tell you this will not be the last! this book was awesome! when undercover cop joe shanahan meets new age beauty Gabrielle Breedlove, she knocks him off his feet, literally! but not before spraying him in the eyes with hairspray. From then on its a bumpy ride when Joe has to pose as Gabrielle's boyfriend to catch a art thief. and ofcourse they are reluctantly attracted to each other. Gabrielle isnt his type he thinks shes crazy, and she thinks hes a bully out to get her and her business partner who is the main suspect. I loved theses characters, Joe was so sexy and macho, yet he was sensitive and playful with his family and pet bird sam, Gabrielle was wacky and intelligent but she wasnt weak and simple minded like women you read about in other books. she was great ! i like her attempts at painting joe and she wasnt perfect but she wasnt afraid to show her artist intereptation. this book is great I recommened that everyone read it!
Rating: Summary: I loved this book and laughed out loud a number of times Review: This book was delightful. I read it while on vacation and my friend kept looking at me because I kept laughing! The situations and dialog were terrific. I read alot, and am very critical! And to find a book that I can read in one sitting (or two) is wonderful. They are few and far between! I highly recommend this book. The friend who was on vacation with me read it after I did, and she laughed too! We both loved it!
Rating: Summary: Doesn't come close to her prior two books! Review: I loved this author's prior two novels. However, this one just slightly engaged my interest. It never came together for me as a romance either plus I didn't particularly like the characters. Although this is my most recent "read" of hers, I already remember it in far less detail than her prior two novels! That is not a good sign.
Rating: Summary: Promising author Review: This is my first book by Rachel and it is really good. The main characters of Nick and Gabby are excellent and sexy scenes are really plentiful in this book. The writing is reminisent of Jennifer Cruzie in some ways. I will look for her other books in the future.
Rating: Summary: This Must Be Love Review: DELICIOUS! I finished this book a week ago, and still can't stop thinking about it.
