Summary: HER BEST BOOK!
Review: I have read all of Gibson's books and I thought that this one was her best book. I enjoyed the plot and the chemistry between the two characters. I do agree with a comment made by one reviewer who believed that Joe had it a little to easy at the end and did not suffer enough to win Rachel's heart.

Summary: another winner for Rachel
Review: The priceless opening pages introduce us to one Gabrielle Breedlove, with a name "like a porno star," and Joe Shanahan, the undercover detective who's been following her because she is a suspect in the theft of a priceless Monet, owned by Norris Hillard, the Potato King. Little does poor Joe know that Gabrielle thinks he's been stalking her and that he's about to have the tables turned on him with a blast of hairspray to his face and a knee to his groin, not to mention the derringer she has pointed at his nose. After he manages to get the upper hand and arrests her for assault and lays the charges of theft in front of her, Gabrielle's only recourse is to let Joe pose as her boyfriend and let him work for her at her store, Anomaly.

Much of Joe's time at Anomaly is spent doing handiwork and searching for proof to incriminate Kevin Carter, Gabrielle's business partner, whom he believes is the mastermind behind the theft; the rest of his time is spent trying to ignore Gabrielle and the mutual lust they feel. The lust is there, however, tempered by the knowledge that involvement between an informant and a detective is a no-no, but there are several deliciously heated encounters before Joe and Gabrielle finally consummate the relationship.

It Must be Love is pure enjoyment, and more. Although plot twists and turns are spare, and although we have meet these characters before - the macho cop and the airy-fairy free spirit - they are set apart by how Gibson treats them. Joe can be a little raw at times and claims he's willing to marry some attractive Martha Stewart-type who can keep his house and keep him fed, but we know better than that. We know he is no ordinary jock-stud who'll leave the little woman to clear the table after dinner, and we know that once Gabrielle gets under his skin, he will reconcile his abstract "dream wife" to the reality of the woman he can't live without.

Gabrielle, who could easily have been annoyingly "out there," becomes instead a likable woman who simply views the world from a slightly different perspective. She values a person's soul instead of their looks, trusts her instincts, and is baffled by her attraction to this man, who is unlike every man she's ever dated, who can send her to prison if she doesn't cooperate, and who becomes the subject of several of her paintings (and that is all I will say on that subject).

The secondary characters serve to better define Joe and Gabrielle; Joe's sisters may be annoying and obviously desperate to see him settled down, but they are sweetly eager to show him at his best when they see the chemistry between the pair. Gabrielle's mother breezily predicts the arrival of a dark, passionate lover in her life, but is there for her daughter when Gabrielle's heart is broken and she realizes she loves Joe.

Although not a keeper for me, I found It Must be Love very, very enjoyable. If you have read and enjoyed Rachel Gibson's books before, you know you're in for a good time, and if you haven't, I strongly encourage you to pick up this latest offering.

Summary: Vulgar and Verbal Abuse
Review: I'm a big fan of Rachel Gibson and loved her previous books. However, IT MUST BE LOVE made me sick to my stomach. If you love a filthy-mouthed, rude, verbally abusive hero who is obsessed with his male body parts, then I guess this book is for you. If any man ever spoke to me the way Joe talks to Gabrielle, he'd be missing half his teeth. Joe treats her like dirt and talks to her like an immature high school boy throughout the entire story, then we're supposed to believe he becomes sensitive enough to recognize her as his other half in the last 5 pages? Sorry, I didn't buy it for a minute. And I'll never buy another of Ms. Gibson's books. If this is "realistic" romance, give me fantasy any day. No woman deserves to be talked to or treated like this by anyone.

Summary: I laughed! I loved! I cant wait for her next book!
Review: In the past 3 weeks I have read all 3 of Rachels books and I have loved every one of them. By far my favorite is "Simply Irresistable". I love how she makes things funny and gives the characters witty come backs throught all of her books. I laughed out loud so much! And boy if you like a good steamy sex scene! Wow! She writes with honest detail what you know the characters must be feeling! Hot! Hot! Hot! Buy all three and compare for yourself! And Rachel please do hurry and give me something new to get my fix!

Summary: FUN FUN FUN!
Review: While This Must Be Love was not as good as Simply Irresistable and Truely, Madly Yours, it was still very sweet and sexy and so much better than the vast majority of romance novels. It was fun and kept me up reading untill WAY past my bedtime. I only wish Gabrielle made Joe suffer just a little bit more at the end, I know I would have!

Summary: Laugh Out Loud (and never clean closets again!)
Review: I LOVED this book! It is witty and fast-paced, with adorable characters -- you will fall for the heroine, Gabrielle, a new age fanatic and so funny! Joe, the Hunk/Hero, is a perfect foil for her. (You HAVE to read the reasoning about why people should never clean their closets -- I need to make a photo copy of it and tape it on my fridge.) The whole book is filled with funny moments, and the overall story remains strong and true. An excellent romance with endearing characters. I was excited to see that the author has a backlist, too! OH, JOY!

Summary: dissapointed
Review: one of the reason's why i enjoyed rachel gibson's books are because they arn't the run-of-the-mill types of romanace novels. they have a glimmer of reality in them. i felt let down by it must be love because unlike the rest of her books-it wasn't devoloped and wasn't believable. just because your into aromatherapy and believe in karma doesn't make you this new age hippie freak that joe seems to think gabrielle was. she seemed very down to earth and normal to me. the character overreacted for the sake of the plot- which wasn't even that devoloped. all in all, i was dissapointed, especially after reading truly madly yours which was believable as well as funny.

Summary: Rachael don't rush!
Review: I fell in love with the first two wacky, wonderful books from this author and eagerly awaited this one. I was dissapointed. Although the the characters were fun, they were not as well developed as the ones in her previous two books. I'm not sure if Ms. Gibson has a quota to meet, but I think she would better serve her fans (yes, I still am one) if she would make her next story as well thought out as her first. This book is not terrible by any stretch, but if you are hoping for the hilarity and steamy quality of her first two, you will probably be dissapointed.

Summary: I laughed out loud many times as I read this book!
Review: This book was wonderful. The contrast between Gabrielle, who has been enlightened by almost every New Age trend in existence, and Joe who is down-to-earth made for enjoyable reading. Rachel Gibson has a talent letting the reader see into the male psyche. Her characterization of Gabrielle was enjoyable too. I highly recommend this book.

Summary: A wonderful, fun read!
Review: I always know when I get a new Rachel Gibson book, that I have a fun read ahead of me. It Must Be Love didn't let me down. I loved the masculine hero in this book. Gibson is genius at capturing the male's point of view. He's just obnoxious enough to sound like a real man, but not bad enough that you hate him. No, you definitely have to love Joe Shanahan. Gabrielle is the perfect foil to Joe's character, and they both made me want to keep reading this book forever. Gibson had some great lines that just made me laugh out loud as I read. Such fun! Thanks for another entertaining story, Ms. Gibson!
