Rating: Summary: Love and Betrayal Review: A story about love, betrayal, and forgiveness. I loved this book, like i love all of Judith McNaught's books, but i have to say that this is not one of her best books. I just couldn't understand how Lauren could forgive so easily the fact that even though she lied to Nick and then confessed, he was capable of humiliating her and then coming back expecting to be forgiven. I have to give it to Ms. McNaught, she knows how to weave a story and want to forgive the guy even though he is not deserving of such love.
Rating: Summary: Buy this book and savour it Review: This was the first McNaught novel I read and since then I have bought all of her books, that's how good Double Standard is! McNaught will have you doubled up and laughing within the first few chapters and by the end you will be doubled up as well, but with pain for the charachters. Judith doesn't develop the charachters as completely as she does in her other novels (i.e. Paradise) but in some way that is a relief. Sinclair and Lauren will have you glued to the pages trying to decide how it will all end.
Rating: Summary: I kept thinking of Nick's face whnever I think of this dook Review: This book is my first Julith book and I fell in love with her characters. I could picture Nick's and Lauren's faces and expressions when I read the book. A must for Julith's fans!!!!!
Rating: Summary: One of my favorites Review: I've read them all and this is one of the best. I actually bought it a second time when I lost the first copy. If you liked this one you have to read Paradise and Perfect. They are 10's no matter how many times you read them.
Rating: Summary: Judith McNaught delivers Review: I have read ALL of her books, and I must say I am NEVER disappointed, this book delivers. Her books are for my eyes only and off limits to anyone else!
Rating: Summary: One of the best Review: I have read almost everything by J. McNaught and I was never dissapointed. I like how real the inner struggles of main characters are - We all have been caught in lies and know how difficult is to confess or to forgive. Definetely, it is a keeper- you can read and reread and reread...
Rating: Summary: Rated A for me Review: I have already read it 5 times and I am not tire of it. I recommended it to friends and everyone cried for Lauren, just like me.
Rating: Summary: Take your time reading this. Review: I think that this, is one heck of a great book! I loved the way she fell for him and the way he went after her at the end of the story. It was just too sweet
Rating: Summary: A KEEPER!!! Review: My heart goes out to the poor yet admirable heroine;the vulnerable hero deserves our understanding too.The moral of the romance is
to be frank with your loved ones, and never jump
to conclusions.
Rating: Summary: Double Standards Review: I was hooked by page 3. Lauren was such an interesting and fun character. She was just so lovable and vulnerable. I just wanted to step in and protect her from the hurt I knew she was about to encounter. Nick was intriguing, sexy and disgusting - at the same time. While I was touched by his devastating childhood, I was flat out disgusted with his "the more lovers the better - virginity isn't prized and men don't expect/want women who are inexperienced" attitude. There where moments that I started to really like him, but then he would do something, like flaunt Vicky (one of his women) in front of Lauren. That just made me mad. I could have understood his doing this to "save face" but I got the feeling that Nick WAS sleeping with Vicky while he was trying to get Lauren to sleep with him. Nick was just too compartmentalized for me too believe he really loved Lauren. After all - Nick was planning a trip abroad with Vicky (less than a month after "the break-up") - even when he was thinking of Lauren. Then 3 days later he is asking Lauren to marry him? Whatever! The guy just seems like one of those guys who would never be faithful - not exactly what you look for in a "Romance Book" hero. I really liked the story - I just needed a few lines added here and there so I saw that Nick, while protecting his already battered heart, was able to be faithful to Lauren - even when he was frustrated or angry.
