Rating: Summary: Makes you want to rent a boat Review: I am a huge fan of Rachel Gibson, this story had a little of everything action, comdey and of course romance.... Although, she has written better books, she doesn't totally let you down. I would still recommend it to Ms. Gibson's fan old and new.
Rating: Summary: Great story Review: Rachel Gibson always keeps the story going at a fast pace. A little predictable, but very enjoyable.
Rating: Summary: I LOVED IT!!! Review: I am so glad that I didnt listen to some of the reviews of this book that said that Rachel Gibson's LOLA was not as good as her others . I was very impressed with the way the characters grew to love each other while going through some very scary situations. The heroine Lola was a very real and honest character. She had serious issues and had realistic emotions when it came to her life and her experiences. I found Max our hero to be one of the most real characters Ive seen in a romance book for a long time. He was funny, charismatic, sexy as hell and had hangups as well. The plot was fun and exciting, the relationship that both Lola and Max has with Lola's dog Baby Doll was funny. If you are in the mood for a funny, sexy and light read this book is for you...
Rating: Summary: consider it a zero-stars book... Review: There are few obvious reasons to consider this book horrendous: first, Lola. This cartooned-super-stupid-ex-model calls her zany (male) dog "Baby doll" and seriously thinks it needs a "male influence in his life"!!! I couldn't believe my eyes. Did I miss the sign in the store says this book was limited to 12 years old readers? Max is some kind of a secret agent. What kind exactly you can see when he doesn't wait much before telling Lola about his job. Not sure he would be hired in the real world by ANY agency (and some readers talked about the vast research Ms. Gibson has done on the subject - come on!). The plot was boring, soooo boring...I used the book as a sleeping pill for two nights in a row before I realized this will never be TRULY MADLY YOURS. Sadly, Rachel Gibson moves to my buy-it-only-used books.
Rating: Summary: Best book I've read in a long time Review: I Love Lola Carlyle Reveals All. This book was fast paced and a lot of fun. If you like your books filled with action and hot sexual tension, this is the book for you.
Rating: Summary: The Worst Wallbanger of 2002 Review: Any woman who names a male dog Baby Doll and dresses him in clothes is not my kind of heroine. I thought Lola bordered on Too Stupid To Live and was VERY shallow. I found the hero gruff and charming. Max went out of his way to accomodate Miss Underwear Model and she was a royal PITA. Lola didn't seem so stupid and slapstick back in the real world, but then Max's pager went off & what she did next was the height of shallow and self-centered. As Max is about to leave for a dangerous mission, she breaks up with him. Never mind it might distract him and get him killed. She couldn't handle it so she couldn't wait till the mission was over to end things. I disliked this heroine for more than 80% of the book, that's the primary reason why Lola Carlyle gets my vote as worst of 2002. After 2 duds in a row, Gibson is off my must-buy list even if she did write Truly, Madly Yours and It Must Be Love, two books still on my keeper shelf.
Rating: Summary: Not the Best -- But Didn't Deserve Such Scathing Remarks Review: While I have read better romantic suspense novels, this one was pretty good for what it was. I think it's hard for anyone to believe that models and "glamorous people" have insecurities just like everyone else, if not MORE insecurites because they always have to be "on." Posting naked pictures on the Internet shouldn't have made her upset? On what planet? Yes, she was a former underwear model, but SHE made the decision to show her body and it was HER decision to make. NOT her sleezy so-called boyfriend's. NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO MAKE SUCH A DECISION FOR SOMEONE ELSE! I'm really kind of appalled that anyone would think that this humiliation made the herione less likeable and not realistic enough. When a person wakes up one day and finds their most intimate moments posted on the Internet for all the world to see and is NOT appalled is when they should question what's real and what's not. I'd like to see how likeable THEY are after something like that. It was a pretty good job, Ms. Gibson and you can only get better. Keep 'em coming!
Rating: Summary: no good Review: Okay guys. Come one now. I know that the romance novels are no brainer and we read them for fun and a moment of dreaming. Her first book was wonderful and I couldn't wait for her next one. But ever since then I have been disappointed. The end is rushed and has NO ONE noticed all the grammtical errors in the book? Again to me a sign that todays authors are more into throwing these books out at a fast speed rather than take good care of their work and take pride in it. Waste of money. Definately. Sorry Mrs. Gibson, but the last books have been a big let down. And to anyone who wants to read one of her books and have a good time, read her very first one. She shows her talent and skills there and it is so much fun to read it. This one is a big let down. I do give her credit for doing a great deal of research and using acurate facts in her story. Sorry. It is a simple book.
Rating: Summary: Love Lola and Max!!! Review: This book has it all. I've read all of Ms. Gibson's books and this one is a bit of a departure, but every bit as wonderful as her other books. It has more action and adventure than her previous works, but Gibson's trademark humor and hot sexual tensions are present. I loved the fishing scene, and I loved the dog. I highly recommend this book.
Rating: Summary: Lola Carlyle Reveals What? Review: I got "Lola Carlyle Reveals All" based on the reviews that that I had read and I have to say that I only got half though it before I gave up (something that I rarely do.) I was very disappointed in the book. This book couldn't not hold my interest, the only reason that I gave it two stars was that I found Lola to a believable character where her weight issues were concerned. But otherwise "Lola Carlye Reveals All" was a big disappointment.
