Summary: Very sweet and romantic story
Review: Fate was a very sweet book. Things started moving pretty fast in this book but it was very sweet. Scott and Vanessa are truly made for one another...the ending was great.

Summary: Breath of Fresh Air
Review: Fate, by Pamela Leigh Starr is a charming tale of two people from very different backgrounds who find that their diffences are not as important as their love. In a time when so many romance novels have become vehicles for graphic sex and violence, Fate brings us back to the way romance novels are supposed to read. This book does not rely on any tricky gimmicks. There's no great murder mystery to solve, or heroine in distress to save. Just two ordinary people who fall in love. The characters are both people that we learn to care about from the opening chapter. Their charm is captivating as they continue to run into each other at various New Orleans locations. This is a romance novel that is as appropriate for your teenaged daughter as for you. My daughter loved the book as much as I did. We both look forward to Ms. Starr's next book. Congratulations, Ms. Starr on a job well done! Joiclyn Austin

Summary: HEARTWARMING LOVE STORY
Review: FATE, by Pamela Leigh Starr, thrives on the principle that real love conquers all, including racism and bigotry, for a biracial couple.

Vanessa, a fun-loving, Black New Orleans teacher, just happens to almost literally crash into Scott, a widowed, White architect and father of two very young girls. At their first meeting, the invisible sparks fly and the emotional connection is made. They actually (and unintentionally) attend the same three separate functions on the same day, sealing in their minds that fate means for them to be together.

This novel, FATE, has love, passion, patience, sadness, racism, anger, acceptance, and humor. Ms. Starr is able to convey all of those emotions extremely well. We find ourselves rooting for Vanessa and Scott.

Yet as their love develops, so do the obstacles of other people's prejudice, some well-meaning and some not. There is a point when the relationship falters, but in the end, love really does conquer all.

Summary: Absolutely the best book I have read...
Review: I absolutely love interracial romance novels, so when I bought this book I was excited. And needless to say this book is the best interracial romance novel I have ever read. Scott is the sweetest guy I have ever read about. Not only was he sweet, it was conceivable that he could be that sweet. In other words, the book in my opinion was not unrealistic and the characters had quite a bit of depth to them. If you love romances novels...then trust me, you will love this book

Summary: Lacked character depth
Review: I anxiously anticipated the release of this novel but was very disappointed. First of all the characters were brought together by an unbelievable number of "chance meetings". I did not get to know the characters as individuals before they were falling all over each other. This added to the child-like mentality I got as I was reading the book. Nothing seemed believable because it wasn't built up to. This novel featured an interracial romance which is good, but it was unbelievable because it seems to just try to make a social statement without letting the reader in on seeing Scott and Vanessa fall in love with each other. I got bored with the book as I was reading it. Also just released, "Against the Wind" by Gwynne Forster is a much better choice for an interracial romance novel. I felt I knew both characters intimately and their relationship was a natural progression.

Summary: A book I really enjoyed...
Review: I believe this was the author's first book and I think she did a great job! The characters of Vanessa and Scott were well developed and very likeable. The manner in which they attempted to be moral in the developing relationship contributed to the detail of their characters and actually added to the sensuality factor. However the plot was a little weak in the second half of the book. I found it hard to understand why Vanessa would end the relationship over the racism of relatively minor characters in the book. In the first half of the book she seemed to take the racist incidents in her stride and it was a bit of a surprise when she quickly lost courage, despite the fact that she couldn't get enough of Scott beforehand. Overall though that I found this book touched me and its been such a long time since I enjoyed a romance so much.

Summary: A beautifully written love story.
Review: I first read the raving reviews that were posted for this book and decided to buy it for myself. As soon as I received the book from Amazon.com, I immediately read it and found myself immersed into this interracial love story. Right next to Sandra Kitt, Pamela Leigh Starr is on my list for a great interracial romance novel. This book did good without the sex scenes in some romance novels. Hope to see another book written like this.

Summary: Very Good
Review: I found this book to be very entertaining. I read it in two days could not put it down.

Summary: Wonderful
Review: I really enjoyed this book. It was wonderfully written and I wished it could have been longer. Ms. Starr allowed Scott and Vanessa's relationship develop almost realistically. I enjoyed the humorous parts of the story as well and the more serious parts. I often forgot the interracial aspect of the book. I'm definitely reading the sequel to this story. Buy it. You will Enjoy......
